  1. I was thinking monday - but its a good 90minutes from me....
  2. I know I shouldn't be tempted but just seen this; Straightliners are back in Cumbria and all car and bike enthusiasts have a chance to take part in a Quarter Mile Drag Racing Day on our doorstep, spectators are welcome. Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th May Starting 10.30am until 5pm both days at: kirkbride Airfield Wigton Cumbria CA7 5LF This is a full drag strip with all the usual equipment and time slips which will be given out after each run so you know your best time of the day. Anyone is welcome to take part whether your vehicle is road legal or otherwise. For those wanting to take part it's £35 for unlimited runs (this includes insurance) all you need is your driving license and a crash helmet. £5 entry for spectators. No need to book in advance just turn up on the day, the sooner you get there the more runs you get in. Catering vans will be there all day. If this event goes down well they will be back, let's make sure it does! http://www.straightliners.co.uk
  3. Best meet after lunch then! So we are meeting at morrisons at 10 on sunday?
  4. Looks like I have been volunteered for this! Should be free anyway - Jim I can meet you at the carpark then we can meet the others if you want?
  5. Met up with Matt (jade mongoose) and Simon (walney franky) in kendal this morning, and we headed up the A6 along some other roads and ended up at the bike show thing in Blackpool. After parking up we headed into the 'show' ground just in time for the stunt show Watched the show, had a mooch around the stalls, had our boots cleaned for free and blsted back to devils and then back to home! Was a lovely day and a nice easy ride - and the weather was FANTASTIC! 6. Ive got a kriega rucksack - think its the 25!? Its a fantastic bag and really spreads the weight over your chest and shoulders, I use it for everything now I have also got the cube accesory thing - it attaches onto the bag or your belt and is just a great size for a wallet and phone, waterproof too!
  7. Well sat is out for me (bloody builders) - so free sunday. Simon - you still doing the blackpool thing or is there anything else happening??
  8. Tell me about it! That lounge wall is now covered in wallpaper samples - not found one for the lounge but have found one for the bedroom, which she said she didn't want to do The builder says he will need the roofworks and window done to the extension ready to slate after the break. And then there is trying to sort out the new car I may as well give up now!
  9. I am pretty much homebound for next weekend - snowed under with work and got friends coming up that we haven't seen for ages! Saying that - when were you thinking.....!
  10. Should be ok - you coming through Windermere on your way? pm'd you my mob
  11. I cant - got the builders in monday and have to dig out the foundation trenchs
  12. Honestly not worth doing anything. Exhaust will only make noise - negliable performanace upgrades - same as an air filter. Changing sprockets could help, but only a little and you will loose acceleartion. Loose some weight?....
  13. ^^^ that sounds like a nice ride out! Got my parts today so just need to find a few hours to get it all stripped and rebuilt!
  14. I am out as muchas possible on weekends Although still not fixed the exhaust....
  15. Saw matt the other day - didn't realise he was gone! Dave is back (for now!) and he has new friends including his brother. Sorry but my road knowledge/general geography is rubbish - I can easily get lost in asda... Dont mind where we go as long as it is a nice road (not too fast as I like my licence!), there is somewhere to stop for a cup of tea and we can do it in a day or less
  16. Well it comes with most new gaskets - and the exhaust to downpipe gasket is only a few months old as I replaced it when the new can went on.
  17. Well I went mild steel - they give it a 12 month warranty and I am hoping to be rid of this bike by then anyway! The £60 saved will help pay for my new lid
  18. My first helmet was an agv longway flipfront - it was good for a first lid but I soon got annoyed with the wind noise, weight, tendancies to fog, drafty visor - and also it seemed so large! Just got an Arai viper and it is great - not done any long trips yet as bike is poorly but already it seems quieter and a lot comfier!
  19. I should be good to go - if I ever get the new downpipes on! Ive got a new lid and desperate to try it out I bet matt, dave and jimsoon would be up for it too
  20. Well my current one is looking like swiss cheese and is not making nice noises! The cheapest Honda one I have found is from david silvers and will be £450 with the gaskets needed. On ebay there are 2 and they are both a lot cheaper and both have had good feedback reports - £160 gets you a stainless steel set with all gaskets needed - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0291249066 And £95 gets you a mild steel with most of the gaskets needed (my exhaust gasket seems ok anyway) -http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=150329141877 Bearing in mind I will getting a new bike in 12-18months is spending the extra £65 for stainless worth it? Many thanks Andy
  21. Been out with Matt a few times - he took me when I was learning! Never been your way though, lets hope for some sun this year sometime
  22. And as soon as Its warm enough that I can ride without shivering we will go faster again
  23. Write their name in the snow...
  24. Thats because you have put your bike away for winter! Dont blame you - went out the other day and nearly froze
  25. My leathers have an elastic crotch - the only part that lets the water in! My solutuion = Rubber pants
