What's the loose bolt from btw ?
-
If the rod is sprayed black .. is it going to travel freely? If your going to spend £125 + postage and more than likely another £80 on the pitted piston ( never had one refurbed that didn't need it funnily enough ) Get a quote from hagon or such like for a new one. And if you sell the bike you can put old one back on and sell the hagon or similar separately and recoup some back Not a chance ! I paid £30 for this ( GSXR 1000 ) and its ace . Of course there are good secondhand items available but my point being is if your going to spend £200 ish on refurbing a standard shock its possibly better spending on a New unit which until it arrives you can still use the bike

The Oxford Heated Grips challenge...
TimR replied to HomerPlata's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
It revolves around your gloves. If their summer styled you will feel the heat more than a true winter glove -

Is there a name on the box anywhere ?
-
If circled bolt is the damaged one . Cut it off with hacksaw and replace Most aftermarket top boxes will attach to the base plate via a bolt visible from the inside at the rear of box and then locate in slots at the front . Quite common for the front lugs snd slots to break and be bolted on . Where the red circle is is the plate to box securing bolt . Looks like yours has broken free from its location . You will need to remove it ( hacksaw blade ) and all other bolts that pass through the bottom of the box and into the plate before the box can be removed as it may need to slide out towards the rear direction to disengage frim its location slot at the front .

Have you posted on the Ducati Minster Forum ? You'll have to register obviously. Thanks, I have been on there too but had little luck without the reg number. But I am back again with a pretty important update... i have the reg!! EF02 ZKJ I jumped straight on the MOT history and it is still on the road (but no test centre listed)! However... I know a guy and he was able to help It was last tested by Ace Motorcycles in Bude. I will give them a call to see if they can help! Another step closer! But an 02 bike is not Y reg ?

May not be mandatory But if an incident happens and your excess speed is contributory then questions may ve asked And on a personal note That reduced speed limit may be in place as im working on the Hard Shoulder or within a closed lane recovering a vehicle so why not just ease off and take that few extra minutes on your journey .You be suprised at how much we appreciate that simple gesture.

Check spark plug cap/lead then also ! May not be fitted securely

Any recent work ? Start simple checks and methodically work through . Start with the simplest thing Battery connections

You're right... but it should be noted that the recent changes are (according to the RAC) purely voluntary with no "law" to support it. see: https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/buying-and-selling-guides/changes-to-insurance-write-off-categories/ the new code for purely cosmetic damage.. that replaces Cat C and D is Cat S. But if you can see that the overtake "is not on" - then so can the examiner. What, then, is the point of moving around in the road unnecessarily? All that you are doing is introducing a redundant dynamic into the ride that serves only to complicate things. Actually, what you are describing are the actions of someone who is not reading the road sufficiently far ahead, who moves into the overtaking position only to see that the move cannot be made and who is then forced to fall back from an overtaking position that was never justified in the first place. And people that are "switched off" will never produce anything like a scripted ride. It's just not possible to do it over the duration of an entire advanced test . My wording is slightly wrong i agree .. If the overtake is definitely not possible then no moving into overtake position is wrong but when it a possibility but not 100% definite then showing that decision process shows engagement . Again my description is inadequate . As switched off i mean not thinking and is riding as the book reads .
-
Being one if those riders who have for years seen overtakes in this scenario as a 'why bother' Ie in a nsl and following at 56 mph ...yes i could give it a squirt past and get to 70 and pass ... but im happy and just enjoying the ride so trundle on ... Have recently taken the IAM masters and thankfully past with distinction .the benefit i found doing this was everything has to be spot on legal so your overtakes are limited as anything over posted limit is a fail but it was drummed into me that even though the overtake may not be on ... make it apparent that you have considered the possibility but decided to not continue ..ie move up to overtake position but then drop back to safe distance . In other words keep engaged in the ride. The examiner will prefer to be out for a ride with a thinking rider who may make mistakes but keeps them engaged rather than someone who rides like a scripted ride and is switched off

Have you replaced a bulb recently ? If so have you inserted the correct bulb in the correct orientation ?

Look to see if there is a crankshaft sensor hiding or missing . Have owned to pug 306s over past 15 years with same eng ... going to see have old manual
-
Sorry to bump this again, but I was just looking through my manual and noticed it says there should be a clutch free play of 10-20mm at the lever. It's more like 5mm currently, should I loosen it up or is there a reason to have it less? See if it shows where the free play is measured .... Lever end to bar Or lever housing to cable mount as 10-20 mm there is a hell of a lot .

Thanks Hayley and as i said its a hard question to ask and sorry for your loss . I will contact a someone i know has a business selling parts etc and he may be able to do a clearance. Try contacting motorcycle breakers ( there did use to be one near M&P in the swansea area ) and see if they are intrested.
-
Which i did but your over zealous moderation has caused more impact than the question would have . Its not just a case or permission .. It could be a huge legal ramifications of being intestate or testate and how she should proceed if that's the case . But hey forgive me for trying to understand the situation and be able to give some advice with knowledge of the preceeding facts .
-
Because it raises the issue of ... Does she have permission to get rid of items Ie .if its a break up .or they are in hmp And then you could be handling stolen goods .
-
I think i may already know the answer BUT How come partner can't deal with this ? And yes i do expect to get the reply which i will feel like a cnut for asking.

Yiu may have a leak on exhaust system Try with engine running and using a rag seal the exhaust outlet on end can and see if you can hear it blowing on the system . If its well sealed the engine should basically stall or attempt to . Blowing downpipe gaskets can produce a tapping noise Plus check any guards on exhaust for missing fastners etc
