I am not sure if they are leaving at 9am, or that is the meeting time. But it is 9am at Edinburgh Castle. Think I will head out somewhere this afternoon. If anyone is going out and about give me a shout. Will leave about 1pm or something.

Obviously weather at this time of year is gonna make or break any ride plans, however are folk thinking about the end of November or is it being left until the better, warmer weather ? Or is anyone heading to Edinburgh to see the guys on the Pudsey run tomorrow morning ? I thought roads seemed a bit frosty this morning, but guy round the corner just shot past my window on his CBR600RR.

I had a Vara up until 3 weeks ago, and riding at night I thought it gave quite a decent illumination. In saying that I only rode on roads with street lighting. Unless they upgraded the headlights for the 08 model I had.

No worries Thommo. Not been riding that long either, so don't worry about speed. It's all about meeting up, and having a bit of fun not racing (from what I can gather).

So far (i.e. since Saturday), I have used it for general enjoyment and commuting (due to not having to attend meetings). But will use it for just about anything, except going to the supermarket or Ikea or something.

Had a guy trying to beat me onto the dual carraigeway last night on the way home, and realised I was at 80 when he gave up Hey I'm still running it in.

Depending on how things go at the end of the month with something I have on, I may make Edinburgh to Carlisle. Either way I will make a donation. Sorry can't tell you for definite.

Passed through Doune yesterday mate, but didn't know I was going that way or I would have gave you a shout. Headed down to the Green Welly then down to Inverary. Great roads, and tons of bikes about too. And me on a 125, chasing my neighbours R1

Sorry mate, just seen this thread. Sounds great to me as well, and I am sure my neighbour would be up for it as well. There are potentially some great routes, even going up to where Benjerrybob and Orkneyrob are in Fife and Stirlingshire, and of course where Daz is too. Out by Edinburgh as well where the guy Rhino is as well which is also close to Bris. Noticed more and more folk from up here coming on recently. Last Sunday of the month is ok for me. Although October is out for me as I have some pretty important and serious stuff coming up. Although I am not far from you anyway Martyn, and now that I will have the bigger bike will be good as well. Cheers for even posting about it, and looking forward to meeting some new friends and finding new routes.

What brand of motorcycle clothing do you wear? Heine Gerrick armoured half leather half textile trousers, and matching armoured textile jacket, EDZ undergarments, Dainese boots, Alpine Stars gloves and Nitro helmet. Also have Pro Stars two piece leathers (unworn as yet). I have other stuff as well (summer jackets, heated jackets etc), but haven't worn it yet so not included. Why do you wear it? (cost, comfort etc) Some I was given, some I bought, but I am comfortable wearing it and feel it gives me adequate protection. In your opinion, which brand is 'the best' and why? No idea, I am a noob when it comes to bikes and all associated things, so I take hints and tips from on here and bike mags.

I will actually need to have a look at my heated jacket which was acquired. I guess it just plugs into the cigarette lighter port, yeh ?

I take it most of these (if not all) usually fit in under the seat compartments (bike type dependant obviously) ?

Was interested in this info too mate. Are they pretty universal or are there certain ones for certain bikes ?

I have to call my training centre next week as they have applied for a whole load of new block bookings. Should get one for the beginning of next month though. They also said they had been inundated with folk wanting tests and DAS, unsurprisingly. And I got through at 9.10 this morning. They opened at 9.
