  1. Great to have a loud exhaust sometimes but as someone who is often following other riders. Even with ear plugs in it is not entertaining to be behind someone with a very loud exhaust for any length of time. You're more likely to attract unwanted attention and from my experience the ER6 works well with the stock exhaust ( though probably better headers are available my Kawasaki one snapped) I tried a couple of after market cans and found more noise but less performance and used more fuel
  2. You could consider Guys Thatched Hamlet its only 20-30 mins from Blackpool and have reasonable rooms http://www.guysthatchedhamlet.co.uk/ Also good food and drink Stayed there a few times
  3. Yes the car driver was wrong they should have checked it was safe to make the manoeuvre before attempting it however..... ( isn't their always a however ) A lot of how blame is apportioned depends on what was actually happening at the time. If the traffic was stopped and you were passing at 30-40 mph in a white hatched area they that was probably inappropriate and some of the blame would be apportioned to you for not riding in a way to protect your own safety. If the white area was surrounded by solid white lines then you were already committing an offence so although the car driver would still have some fault you would have more. A lawyer could argue that it was not unreasonable to expect a car to be making a U turn in a traffic jam and you should have ridden accordingly. Unfortunately it is inevitable some blame will be attached to your riding how much would depends on how you were riding and how good your legal advice is. If you are overtaking stationary or slow moving traffic I would suggest that your speed should be no more that 10 MPH above that of the traffic you are passing as an inexperienced rider then probably any traffic moving at over 20 mph you should be in the traffic flow. Also don't ride close to the very slow or stationary traffic give yourself at least a car doors width cause some bozo is going to open a door right into your path. The further out you are the better you can see and be seen. Before anyone tells you the above is bull.... and they ride like that all the time, consider this. If that had been a person stepping out not a car turning what is the likely outcome. How would you live with the results?
  4. May not work if you have a canbus type system on your bike without generating error codes. What bike do you have Make/year? Edit sorry its in your signature..SV650 so that should work

  10. I would increase the pre-load one click at a time go and ride then repeat until you find something comfortable, but is sounds more like the damping thats the problem. The damping is to stiff dont know if it can be adjusted on your bike but I;m sure someone will be along to give advice.

  12. I commute daily Kevlar lined jeans and a Dainese jacket Oxford lines over trousers and a £15.00 jacket from Aldi when it wet. Helmet, I use a neck tube over my head so I can change it every day or so and it keeps my helmet clean. Commuting is more difficult than weekend riding, most drivers are thinking of work or getting home, not driving.
  13. The A500 dose not come out of stoke so much as circles the worst of it
  14. As long as it has been approved as an open and full face it should be OK one of the requirements is that you can lock it open, Actually lock it not just that it stays open usually this means a switch. As someone stated most Bobbies would probably not know this you I expect 100% of bike police do. I have a Nolan which is approved but I do not generally ride with it open. Sometime when it foggy out but that's about it.
  15. Do it soon My son got a set of cheap shoes for his 125 and they started making lots of noise turn out the casting had broken and it was destroying the drum. Needed a new wheel. He was not happy
