  1. well that is the usual attitude on here don't know if it'll be bike or car, depends on how long a list of 'want it' i come up with between now and then
  2. well done si enjoy yourself, everything else comes with practice
  3. i'd like to tag along on the sunday if i may wanted to get to this, and might try drag my brother along
  4. i was asked how i'd adjust my chain tension if i needed to. good luck for tomorrow. it might sound a bit daft but it worked for me - try to think positive. if you believe you can do it's much more likely to happen and it helped with my nerves quite a bit. and try relax, you'll do fine. they know you're nervous and aren't trying to trick you or trip you up.
  5. glad everyone was ok after the coming together. hope you all enjoyed yourselves otherwise, and i'm not surprised you got lost - i never go on my own or i'd never find the caff
  6. if i do it properly it takes a full day to clean mine. but then i do strip off the fairings and clean off the insides and always clean the chain and front sprocket and re wax the chain, as well as the general clean and polish. All while trying to avoid standing on the dog because he likes to help too. for some reason my front sprocket is always caked in cack. don't use a pressure washer! they're not recommended for bike cleaning. was talking about this a couple of days ago with a biker mate and he agrees. bikes are a bit too delicate for them
  7. mojo my dear you have excellent taste
  8. that's pretty cool! if kids wave at me i wave back or at least nod. there where two in the back of a car i was following in leeds yesterday who waved and grinned and where chuffed to bits that i'd waved back. put a smile on my face on a monday morning
  9. mine goes out in the wet and the cold and has been fine. it's mostly the older models that had electrical problems so i wouldn't worry too much about it, especially as you'll be buying new and covered by warranty
  10. you know my opinion on this one nikki!
  11. i'm SO glad i passed before all this module stuff came in! don't envy you or anyone else having to jump through so many hoops to get your licence. if only it was so hard for some people to get a car licence! yes i know, off topic back on topic - bad luck with the swerve, hope you nail it next week. good luck, sure you'll be fine
  12. far as i know, you can't legally ride it on the road without the usual - mot, insurance and tax - but the coppers can be ok if they're having a good day and you can prove you're taking it to mot etc. so long as you're insured. if you're worried, trailer would be best bet. no guarantee that any copper you came across would be in a good mood!
  13. there was a post about this a couple of weeks ago. remember awwwnuts saying he might be going. wouldn't mind it myself again this year. enjoyed last year
  14. and i spent the day baking! and playing with the dog. why weren't they there on sunday when i was! inconsiderate old buggers
  15. hmmm might be interested. will stick my name on at a later date if i decide to go
  16. would love to go, but the rugby league playoff final is on the same day and i can't make both events, and my little brother got the tickets as an early christmas pressie for me. excited and disappointed all at the same time
  17. you've got my number stu, just give us a bell
  18. oxford do a cheaper version of the buff, but i don't find them comfortable. they're a bit scratchy and theres not enough stretch in them for them to be comfy around your neck imo
  19. i've got a hump back oxford and a square one you can try out with your panniers if you like stu, give you an idea which type you want/don't want
  20. they're not all arses! my instructors and examiners where all really nice! bad luck though hywel - better luck for the next one
  21. got home a while ago, via bex's house and leeds - good charity ride yesterday - thanks for a great weekend penny and mark, and everyone. it was my first tmbf party and i've not been scared off! hope to be at a few more
  22. wouldn't mind a trip up myself. went last year and enjoyed it. would only be the sunday though
  23. thanks vicki! will await your text tomorrow for bringing my stuff to yours. will try not to bring too much!
  24. there's so much talent out there that would do well on the 6's, it should be brilliant.
  25. would like to see jt still in gp next year, but can't see it. even if he goes to another team, maybe with a bike that suits him better. and maybe one not quite so high profile as tech 3. and i agree it's embarassing watching him not perform i reckon the new 600 class will be the one to watch next year anyway
