  8. that's what i thought! they'll be on order next weekent i think thanks for the help all
  9. thanks para, but the snag i have is that i have big calfs/calves(?) anyway.....can't get boots to fasten around them and my leathers so have been wearing short boots which are lovely and comfy but just bought new dainese leathers with calf protection so my old ones won't fit and ones i've tried on are nowhere near. and i've got a fat ankle from a really bad sprain years ago! thought custom made would have to be the answer but was worried about the cost. found out yesterday that daytona charge 20% on top of the normal price for custom so i think it's ideal
  10. cheers will get them ordered
  11. thanks dtm and the wife know they're supposed to be brilliant but always good idea to ask the people whe wear them
  12. you wanna see legs that won't fit in bike boots?
  13. Evening I have trouble getting boots that fit me and went and tried on some Daytona's today. The footbed was lovely and comfy and they're a really nice boot, but i'd still have to have them custom made to fit round my calf and leathers. They're not as expensive as I thought they'd be so am seriously considering getting them made. What i'd like to know is....has anyone got Daytona's and are they as good as i've read/heard? All info would be welcome before I part with my hard(ish) earned cash. Cheers all
  14. was wandering round tinternet last night and bikersbargains has a sale on. might be worth a look
  15. Like Big Sis said, http://www.racevisors.co.uk/ have them... thanks....again! i'll figure out how to do that myself at some point
  16. shouldn't be tight. snug. you'll know when you try them on if they fit you. bend and stretch in them a bit too to make sure you'll be comfy in them in your riding position. you'll look and feel a bit of a loon doing that in the shop though but everybody does it
  17. try racevisors they've got loads of kits
  18. no worries hope you get sorted soon those spykes look v smart
  19. bike leathers come with all kinds of panels in them for ease of movement so you'll have no problem moving on the bike or putting your foot down and stuff. that said, new leather can be a bit stiff and may take a few wears to break in but that won't restrict your movement.
  20. my brothers girlfriend wears an rst onepiece. her 2 piece suit is now redundant because the rst is more comfy and fits better. just seen your spyke pic. my brother came off in his spyke onepiece earlier this year. front locked at around thirty, he got stuck under the zx7r and went tarmac surfing. his suit wore about halfway through at the left shoulder and about the same along the right forearm. no stitching burst and he wasn't bruised at all. legs where fine and the armour in the knees and hips saved a lot more damage than he ended up with to his knee. and the suit is still wearable. strangely enough he wants another spyke!
  21. what's that? really...don't bother telling me, i am useless with computers!
  22. that's the one! cheers korben rubbish with computers. easier - quicker! - to tell him what to do than try to put the link in. would have taken me all night!
  23. i've got both and imo the textiles are more comfortable on and off the bike, and warmer in cold weather. the leathers look better - way cooler - but are not waterproof, can get very hot and are a pig to clean. but they are comfortable and i feel much safer in them. you'll probably go in a shop, see something you love and buy it, won't matter which it is! for some reason the filter won't let me write aren't waterproof! argh! so annoying - trying to write that they let rain in!
  24. put sharp helmet test - with the spaces - into your search engine and it'll give you the official sharp helmet test site and mcn's with a load of test results in it. if you don't know, sharp is the new safety rating test for lids. a lot that scores five stars aren't expensive. hope that helps
  25. there's no reason why leathers should look daft on your bike! you'd look dafter with gravel rash and as for boots - most manufacturers do plain black versions of their multi coloured racing boots so you won't lose out on protection if you don't want something flash. there's plenty of less race-oriented variations around too
