  1. Took old yellow and the Mrs out today, taking a ride down to Rye from Maidstone. Route posted on the pictures attached but essentially from Maidstone, through quaint villages including Sutton Valance, Headcorn, which was lovely as was Appledore and then into Rye for lunch, ice cream and a wonder. A lovely set of curvy open corner roads, that go through the lovely country side. The closer you get to Rye, the more opportunity to put your knee down and take on the S - Bends. Word of warning though, it's easy to see the attraction to go knee down on the roads around Rye but one loss of concentration and you could easily stack it. Think it was the A274 then on to the B2080. Rye is lovely but didn't seem to be biker friendly with the parking, charging to park bikes everywhere, but by the boats in the centre of town (not the actual harbour) there is a good space for bikes for free. There were a couple of nice Harleys parked there today and several seen coming through the town. Chance to knock off 3 pubs from the 100 challenge on this route too.
  2. There are miles in between the junctions - I'm just blaming the drivers themselves [emoji2]. I've sat in the left hand lane several times and sailed past traffic in the farthest lanes, whilst doing only 70mph.
  3. The M25 is currently part of my commute to work. No one uses the farthest two lanes and think that late swerving in and out of lanes randomly gets them to their destination quicker.
  4. Howdy, As per the title. Suzuki SV650S renntec sports rack wanted. Cheers
  5. Light amber ale, with citrus tones
  6. At a wonderful little pub/hotel in Surrey and I've had a pint if this ale. It might be because I did end up consuming a collection of the ales this evening, but I wondered if there were any other biker based ales around?
  7. I'll start the trend then - this is the one I got done via bamboo on the island Koh Phi Phi in south of Thailand.
  8. Totally agree - I like seeing tattoo pics
  9. Great job, well done. I had the same when I did my full test, where I thought I had failed straight out of the test centre. Went around a parked car (parked near a T-Junction) and whilst I was half way past the parked car, a car turned in to the junction towards me and hit her brakes. I assumed as I caused her to brake it was my fault. 2 minors and a pass later I questioned that moment and was told I was alright. I think that 'relaxed' feeling of "I've failed Ao no point worrying now" helped.
  10. Nice Baldrick. Neil - valid point and I'm only 31 but I get married next year and the Mrs will kill me if I can't walk properly lol. Only started a very slow, limpy jog this last two weeks so I've got ages to go until I'd be able to play properly again. Still limp now when walking and can't do long distances. Toughmudders are on the horizon though, one day! Kids are too so need to be able to run around after them.
  11. Thanks all for the advice. In no particular order; Never heard of numbing cream but I'd never use it. What tattoo is on your arse Baldrick? Yes, I played union indeed but throughout my years I did multiple sports, including Muay Thai and American Football as well as rugby and running Toughmudders. The injury is as good as it's going to get in the sense of its physical state and the skin is all sealed, no swelling etc, it's just strength and flexibility that requires the work now.
  12. I was nervous when I was getting to my CBT when I did it, but remember 16 year old "youths bruv" pass it. Just use common sense and you'll be fine.
  13. Hi Westbeef, Thanks for the info. It sounds like your tattoo is positioned similar to what I'd look to do, although luckily mine is a slim design. Pain wise, I think I'll be ok, my first tattoo went down 3/4 the centre of my spine and I've had a bamboo tattoo done on ny inner bicep. And the injuries I've had in my life I've had enough practice with pain, unfortunately
  14. Note: the tattoo would go down my calf and not directly on the back of achillies you can grab behind your ankle.
  15. Morning, bit of an unusual one. I've looked on good old Google for my answers but getting nowhere and so I thought I'd try this forum before a call to a tattooist. In January this year I snapped my achillies in half whilst playing rugby, which is not an injury I recommend. This injury has caused me to cease playing my dear sport of rugby. As a tattoo fan (I have a couple already) I'd like to get a tattoo on the back of my injured leg to mark this injury and the getting over of it. It's a simple arrow design and a helmet (romantic/Greek) in an attribute to "achillies" and his only weakness. I'm walking around with a small limp now (on a skinny leg) and am found everything as near normal as a I can. My question is - is it safe, from an aggravating/injury to the tendon standpoint, to get the tattoo now? Or do I need to wait any longer? Any advice gratefully received. Cheers
  16. I've very recently transferred jobs internally from a front line investigations job to become an Analyst and so, I have become a full nerd (I don't even like Star Wars!!!) I had to sit a mandatory 2 week course and my mind nearly exploded. I can see me coming to this thread more and more in the future!! What have I done....
  17. Scoped it out - will be looking to go and get a fry-up soon!
  18. Morning, Late to the game, but can I register, please? Number 135.
  19. The creator of the okey-kokey died the other day. They started to put him in to the coffin, put his leg left in .. and that's when all the trouble started..... What goes "ooooooooo"? A cow with no lips.
  20. Late to the party but I'm just outside Maidstone myself if there are still rides going?
  21. My ride of 2 and a half years so far. 2000 model SV650S I think the freezer deserves a light too.
  22. I like the A4 through Wiltshire and onwards, great road and wonderful countryside.
  23. 1 - About half a year in with my first year (125CC) and touched the front brake on loose stones while on a roundabout - looked daft. 2 - Year 3 on a Triumph Sprint riding in the right hand lane of a 2 lane road in the city centre, I did a blind spot check to move lanes and when I turned my head back around the car in front had slammed his brakes on - I had a choice to make and I chose to fall off the bike sideways rather then plow in to the back of him (riding at 30mph), as I assumed that was the cheaper option. Only winded with a dent in my pride. Unrelated I've had several occasions in which I've had close calls, on one occasion I actually banged on the passer window of a car moving in to the lane whilst I was in it. The passengers face was a treat. I was told by an experienced rider to basically "treat every driver like they're a **very un-PC word** - basically assume that drivers have no idea what they're doing and it's served me well so far.
