    new bike

Wow nice bike. I always wonder why people sell bikes with so few miles done. One of my mates sold his bike after five months as he found the seat so uncomfortable.
  2. It's funny how we get attachments to these mechanical devices. But like you said it's more than the machine itself, it's the memories it helps to create. You did the right thing though. I still look occasionally for one of my old bikes. And my mate keeps looking for his 250 he brought after passing his test. Mine has not been through an MOT for years. My mates has changed colour and halved the mileage!
  3. It's the same here in the U.K. Sometimes see people on quads on the road without a helmet.
  4. One of them did. They were so corroded the threads were only about half the size at the head they should of been.
  5. Over the last couple of days I wanted to remove these exhaust bolts. Would rather do it now, than the middle of the winter, when I might be forced to. managed to get one out, the other snapped. So grinding, drilling, and tapping sorted it.
  6. Thanks. Would need to change many tyres to get the money back.
  7. I rode the bike from the front of the house to the rear entrance in the car park once. It was only about 40 metres. No gloves on just felt weird.
  8. Got any pictures of the manual tyre changer? Or a link?
  9. That's great you like it. Will be interesting to see what mileage you get from a charge once using it regularly.
  10. I think it can vary a lot, what you pay for tyres. Last time I paid £30 to loose wheels. This included getting rid of the old tyres, and fitting new valves. Was talking to people about this a little while ago, and anywhere from £10 to £20 per wheel seems average.
  11. That new pinion looks correct. Have you a picture of the crankshaft? Has someone spaced the variator out too far?
  12. This guy came up with a solution to not being able to buy a silencer anymore. I'm sure it wouldn't be to hard to convert something similar. https://bikesandtravels.com/biker.aspx?ride=251
  13. Cost is obviously a reason. But the naked bikes are far easier to control round a mod 1. Upright riding position, and better leverage at the bars. Plus a much better turning circle.
  14. There are a few used down pipes on eBay. But it looks like it's a discontinued part now. Which part of the exhaust has gone?
  15. The American licencing system is very different to our own. You can pass with hardly any bike training. My mates done it and can't believe you can ride anything with something similar to the old CBT.
  16. To me that just says you can ride both classes of motorcycle. A, and A2.
  17. This one gets good reviews, and is ride recommended https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/275658 I have this one, which lasted well. Was really great for the first four years, but five years on has gone really brittle now. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/R-G-Outdoor-Waterproof-Motorcycle-Cover-for-Supersport-Superbikes-in-Silver/323419516016?chn=ps&norover=1&mkrid=7101533165274578&mkcid=2&itemid=323419516016&targetid=4584826055637459&device=t&campaignid=412354546&mkgroupid=1299623041023876&rlsatarget=pla-4584826055637459&abcId=9300541&merchantid=87779&msclkid=9f582355e8001784072b41c779ce6a49&pageci=58f4f1f2-0bfe-42a9-bfd7-c76f206bb568&redirect=mobile
  18. Nowadays he would be looking at a prison sentence for sure. Things have really changed since then. Anything over 100 now you are going to be in big trouble. It's really not worth owning a big sports bike for me anymore. Might be different if I did track days.
  19. I did say this to him. His answer was it was four o'clock in the morning. They would of taken his licence away. But other people would of lost their jobs. Got a massive fine though!
  20. He is not allowed bikes anymore. His wife put her foot down after getting stopped going 157mph. Previously to that he went to court for in excess of 130, in a 30. He had the Suzuki, then a Kawasaki 7R, then an R1. Always said the Kawasaki was the fastest point to point. Never got close to the Times he could get places on the other's. Had so much confidence in the handling. I think it helped having ridden bikes off road before. It certainly never hurt his speed.
  21. Oh dear, another dealer gone.
  22. My brother passed his test and brought a brand new SRAD 750 when they were one of the top bikes. Never ridden on the road before apart from his test. He was in his early twenties. We had motocross bikes before that. He was fine.
  23. The one thing I always find strange. Is the kids and delivery drivers don't even wear gloves in the winter. It's freezing, why wouldn't you wear gloves?
  24. Nice seeing Crutchlow's bike. Lego do a Ducati too. Big money but very impressive once hours are spent building it.
