New boots - ankle pain
mikestrivens replied to Scox91's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
sportsbikeshop.co.uk will allow you to return boots that have not been worn outside. I have done this several times to get the right fit that I am happy with. -
Just goes to prove that bikers are invisible.

Last minute decision to go for a wonderful ride through the Peak District. Lovely sunny day about 5-8 degrees still snow in north facing gullies but the roads mostly dryish. I went from Disley on the back roads down to Whaley Bridge then to Chapel on B5470 and onwards to the Edale loop (spectacular views of Kinder Scout. On to Castleton and Winnats Pass to Sparrowpit back to Chapel and then down the A5004 to Buxton. Then the A537 (the most dangerous road in Britain) Cat and Fiddle to Macclesfield. Then back towards Whaley Bridge on B5470 cutting off back to Disley. I have done this ride many times and I'm still learning. There was lots of grit and stones on the road where the gritting lorries and run off had deposited their stuff, so always good to take it easy. The Sat Nav on the phone is good to give prior warning of bends, but this route requires 100% concentration. My new Rukka Nivala jacket and trousers were fantastic, warm and comfortable. I need to get some new spectacles though as mine keep falling down my face - rather annoying.

My Theory Test today

Good on you -
The only music I listen to is the sound track of the wonderful Triumph triple 800 engine, or the V8 of my Mercedes if I decide to take the car. Either is so good that anything else pails into insignificance.

Hi bought this jacket and matching Rukka Nivala trousers a couple of weeks ago and agree with above. It is a fantastic piece of kit at a fantastic price but you really do get what you pay for when it comes to motorcycle clothing.

Heated grips
mikestrivens replied to Walkersway's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I have the Oxford heated grips that the previous owner installed on my Tiger 800 Xcx. They are very effective and offer more temperature settings than the standard Triumph fitted ones, for a cheaper price. -
Casual jacket

This is a nice jacket that looks very good away from the motorbike: https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/331819 I've used mine ti give lectures in as well as visit friends or go to a restaurant. -
Hi, I'm near Stockport and will be available from Friday 29th for a shortish ride. Depends a bit on the weather as I'm rather a fair weather rider.
