    Low sun

Yikes, if it isn't gravel all over the road it is sun in your eyes. Ride safe people.
  2. I was doing about 150 when I did an emergency stop. Oh are we talking about the MOD2 test? That was over 20 years ago, haven't a clue.
  3. That reminds me of a joke I heard a while back. What do you call 5 dogs with no balls. The Spice Girls
  4. when I take my Tiger to work I park it against the bicycle stands so i can attach a U lock through the frame to the stand as well as a disk lock on the rear wheel, not to mention alarm and steering lock. The car park wardens also keep a good look out as there are so many motor bikes and push bikes. When not at work I park it with all the above but tend not to leave it too long.
  5. And at the end of the day you get a CBT certificate that is registered at the DVLA, so you have up to two years of riding before you have to either retake it or upgrade to the next stage.
  6. A 125cc bike would be more satisfying but it is really up to you.
  7. You could also do yourself a big favour by watching some of the excellent training videos on Youtube by the likes of MCrider and RoadCraftNottingham. And there are lots of others.
  8. First thing you need to do is get the CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) certificate from your local motorcycle trading school, wherever you are, cost about £125 for a full days training. This will allow you to ride a motorbike up to 125cc for up to two years on L plates. There are other options which your training school will let you know. You also need to factor in some clothing and a helmet. Look at https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk for ideas, but your trying centre will be able to help with ideas in your budget. Also see here regarding licence info: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/568266/routes-to-your-motorcycle-licence.pdf
  9. You were right...it was a cold day...one other ktm rider turned up. ..had a burger and rode home...roll on summer..20180202_121407.jpg Your diet looks more dangerous than riding a motorcycle.
  10. mid April. They don't start the schools until April anyway.
  11. You don’t need to be. Anybody can go on these schools.
  12. Don't have this problem with my Quadlock system, it's as solid as a rock. You get what you pay for.
  13. Will do, yes it is using their Honda CBR600RR bikes. see here: http://haslamraceschool.com/
  14. Just booked a Premier Plus course at Ron Haslan race school to hone my skills and remove any bad motorcycling habits I may have picked up over the years.

  16. MCrider and RoadCraftNottingham both have excellent training videos for motorcyclists. I have spent hundreds of hours watching Youtube videos and even more hours putting the lessons into practice. It is well worth the effort. Here is one from MCRider: ">
  17. As above, you must look where you want to go, i.e. head up and look fully round the corner. Also get used to seeing where the apex is and the vanishing point so you can throttle up as you come out of the corner.

    jury duty

Don’t wear a black cap or the judge might think you are predicting the outcome of the trial.
  19. Well done, I plan to go out during the following week. If you are laying the bike up for a month it is probably a good idea to fill the tank with fuel mixed with a fuel stabiliser as the ethanol in modern fuels breaks down quite quickly and can cause starting and running problems you described.
  20. But GIVI is a reputable and well known manufacturer of panniers and other stuff. I willing to bet that an insurance company will look for any reason to not payout. And, even if not homologised there must limits to the size and weight of such panniers as recommended by each manufacturer.
  21. Where do I find this fellow? exuse me if this isnt the correct way to reply to posts?? That is an email address. You do know how to send emails don’t you.
  22. You could also check with a couple of manufacturers and insurance companies what their view is.
  23. I would have thought that unless they were homologised for the bike you’d have trouble and find your insurance invalid.
  24. I use the Quadlock system with an iPhone. I have the appropriate brackets for all my vehicles, including push bike. The iPhone case comes with a poncho to protect the phone from rain, though it was waterproof enough to ride through a torrential downpour on the way home one day.
