1. Well I have been looking at the MT07 and the XSR900. Trouble is I'd need to settle my finance first, easier said than done.
2. Here's a picture of my yamaha mt125 at a well-known landmark for northern motorcycling, (what was) the Cat and Fiddle inn in the hills. Came at it from the Buxton end, just got going again after the photo shoot when the signs started appearing for a 20mph speed limit, they've resurfaced the road with chippings. Cat and Fiddle
3. Lovely. I have one in blue and think its great.
4. Count me in. I'm in Stockport. I'm not riding for the next week or so due to a minor crash but definitely interested.
5. @Westbeef to the rescue again. Its booked into Sport and Custom next weekend but I said I'll provide oil and filter so want to make sure I've got everything.
6. I think it's a terminology thing. If you can take a look at this YouTube video From 6:38 to 7:00 and beyond. That seal, what's it called and where do I get one?
7. Er, ordered an official oil filter and guess what? No o ring
8. You chaps must be having quiet Saturday's if this is getting you on the edge of your chairs. Anyway let the record show- Violet = 3 Tan (??? I don't see Tan) = 5 Brown =7.5 Red =10 Blue=15 Bit of a mare getting the seat back on only to think "did I tighten those battery terminals or not?"
9. Definitely not old grump . 2.2 amp just for gloves, are you trying to fry me? Thanks anyway but it was a bit of a doh moment: because they are second hand of course the violet fuse is already in place! All wired up. Testing to commence
10. Hi. Bought some second hand gerbing gloves. Looking at the fuses that they came with, I don't appear to have the correct one which is supposed to be violet. I've got orange, yellow, brown, red and blue but the instructions say I need a violet and should have violet, tan, Brown, red and blue to choose from. Piccy attached. Am I colour blind or am I really missing the correct one?[/img]
11. Maybe I misread the Full Control guide. It seems to be brake up to the steering point. Ill get me coat.
12. I'd upload the Full Control guide to stimulate debate but its 2.1MB and the size limit is 2. Here's the link for it from the IAM https://www.iamroadsmart.com/docs/default-source/default-document-library/iam-full-control-document-v01
13. If so, then recommend me somewhere in Stockport, greater Manchester or north west England in that order please
14. So I am new to this and I don't claim to have studied the subject of advanced riding. After all I only did my cbt a month ago. However I am keen to get better as quickly as possible so I am interested. Its curious how there are such apparently opposing instructions for cornering.
Full control, by the Nordic bikers (its a pdf that seems oft referred to as good) says brake as you corner, granted you're easing off but front brake is used in the corner.
Pass your test and be a great rider, the MCN book says brake before cornering but if needs be then you can use the front brake and countersteering if you are surprised by a hazard say. Any thoughts? I just thought motorcycling may be a bit more determined and less open to interpretation, physics etc.

My new Bike

That's a corker. And the right colour too Love it.
16. I [strikeout]know I'm doing a lot of wanting but I'd seriously underestimated the start up costs for motorcycling. Anyone have a good quality paddock stand they're looking to part with? Or an abba stand[/strikeout]? New bike has centre stand so for now I'm sorted thanks
17. Hi Baldrick. I'm a tall thin guy who tends to fit neither medium or large but I'd be delighted to try the medium jacket. I'm in Stockport myself and as I'm just starting out I welcome the chance to acquire gear.
18. Hi. Not at all technical but changing the oil and filter looks within my compass. As I'm running the bike in I believe frequent oil changes are good. In the manual it states to replace the filter and the o ring. Does the o ring come in the box with the new filter? Only googling for oil filter o ring yamaha mt125 doesn't return any results suggesting you don't buy them separately? Forgive the ignorance.
19. Hi. Looking for some boots size 10 in vgc Thanks in advance
