  1. Mods, Any chance we can have a section for South Coast ride outs? London is 80 miles away from where I live ! Kind regards Alan
  2. Id say women, men are no good at sewing.
  3. I bought my current summer gloves from Lidl last year for £12.99 and theyre ideal. As colin says its best to try some on, as soon as you put a comfortable pair on you will know straight away
  4. I would have been up for this if I hadnt booked up all of my annual leave already!
  5. Im back at work on the Sunday morning, I could always pop up and have one or two I guess, will see how I feel closer to the time and give you a shout
  6. I shall consider it mate, I do have the weekend off, just thinking of the ride home with a hangover !
  7. I was just looking this up as I thought Id ride up for the day to meet people, however its near stoke on trent! thats about 240 miles away from me !!!
  8. Ive been playing around with all this jazz for a qhile, trying to get the best quality I can for music, and more recently talking to my other half when shes on the back, looks like the best way is for us both to buy helmets with blue tooth fitted, will be looking at the Viper helmets soon as I know you can make the music very very loud with the rigth set up
  9. Whats the original Ninja?
  10. Ive rode both on around an 02 plate and Id say the ninja
  11. Ive jsut come back from Scotland and there were gusts of 80 mph, Id say take it easy and when you feel a gust lean the bike into it slightly and ease off the throttle, seemed to keep me on the road.
  12. Why is it when I push the pegs, absolutly nothing happens!!! If you only push on the pegs nothing will happen, you need to counter steer too. For a right hand bend push down hard on your left leg. You will notice that your arms are a lot more relaxed and theres no pressure on the handle bars, then you can gently push forward against the rightr side of the bars and the bike will lean slightly and turn right. For left handers just do the opposite
  13. Glad my advice kinda worked, think its all about the fact that youre going to tense up on the bike as youre nervous so put all the tension in your legs so your arms are free to steer, at the end of the day the only way to go around the bend is to turn the handle bars, you can lean all you like but if the bars dont move youre going no where!
  14. Or do a tequilla a slightly different way by snorting the salt, downing the tequilla then sticking the lemon in your eye...........you wont give a toss about the rust after a few of those!
  15. Push down on your left peg as you're taking the bend, you should always get your bike in position before reaching the bend in any case. Once all your weight is on the left peg the rest of your body will be relaxed enough for you to counter steer. Also make sure you're looking into the bend and not the kerb you're in fear of hitting
  16. Dont cut corners with brakes, get the pads out, make sure you've cleaned the pistons properly and get the copper slip out, that way you can brake without having any doubts
  17. Im heading up to Aberdeen on the bike on the 16th May, going to spend some time with my brother but might have a bit of time to myself when he's busy so thought Id see if anybody on here is up that way that might be up for a blast?
  18. If its rider to pillion you're after I've just ordered a set for £25 and I can plug the ipod into it too. I'll let you know what its like once Ive tried it out. Dont think you need to pay that much for it!

  20. Roll the flaps up on the tail pack and bungee it up, I use that grey foam stuff that you normally put on water pipes to cover the bungee ropes to protect the paint work.
  21. This is a copy of the email I've just sent out to some mates regarding this trip, hoping to start booking things up next month, let me know if you're interested Euro Bike Trip 18th June to 26th June 2011 Saturday 18th June 2011 – Ferry from Harwich to Holland - £88 including cabin. Leave at 2315 hours arrives at 0745 hours on Sunday 19th June. Sunday 19th, Monday 20th in Amsterdam Hotels in Amsterdam vary in price and it will depend on what’s available when we book. It looks like we will be paying no more than 150 euros for both nights near the main centre, might be as cheap as 100 euros. Tuesday 21st June ride to Nurburgring 223 miles so about 6 hours would be more than enough time if were taking it easy. Leave Amsterdam around midday. Single rooms in hotels near the ring will cost no more than 200 euros each, but will be more likely around the 175 euro mark for the 5 nights, normally including breakfast. This will all depend when we book and how many people are going as we will need to find a hotel we can all fit in, there’s plenty around. Cologne is 60 miles away so we can have a night out up there if anybody fancies it. Any suggestions for places to ride out to once were over there are welcome, I can imagine the ring will be open every evening and possibly even for some full days, the times for June haven’t been updated on the web site yet. Last time we went the ring the laps cost 22 euros each, they get cheaper the more you buy so we could all chip in a buy a bulk load to bring the cost down. Ride from the Ring back to Calais for the Ferry home is 300 miles, plus the other 150 miles or so once we get home. I’m happy to split this journey and maybe stop in Bruges overnight or somewhere similar, can price hotels up if required. Ferry home is around £25 depending on what time we head back on the 26th June. Total mileage would be around 530 miles, plus whatever ride outs we do and laps around the ring. Going on past experience we don’t have to pay for the hotels at the time of booking so all we will need to book is the ferry crossings, I’m happy to do this but will need the money up front. Let me know if you fancy it and I’ll confirm prices once I know numbers. If anybody has any different ideas then send them my way. Cheers Alan
  22. Stop cleaning the bloody thing and get some dirt on it!
  23. I wouldnt agree as you will be doing the ring on tyres that have just done 2,000 or so miles and possibly may need replacing making the risk of having an off more. Good point Riff lots to consider. I guess you just have to do what fits at the time. I understand what you're saying about the ring and writing your bike off. I went on the ring last year and did it at the end of my trip, 2,500 miles on the tyres before I got there, mostly along motorways and I was running around the ring on square tyres, going back this year on new tyres with just 400 miles on them

  25. Im looking at doing a trip around June time if youre interested in joining us? Possibly a similar sort of route but still undecided yet
