  1. Im looking to buy some new gear at the moment, I was going to buy leathers at first but after trying some just found them very uncomfortable so I was going to buy a decent textile suit and possible some of that body armour that you can get, I paid £140 for my boots and they seem to have lots of support but to be honest im just pretty clueless as im new to biking. Id like to get the safest most comfortable gear there is, money isnt really an issue, can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks
  2. Thanks mate, What are those iridium ones like? Do they look tacky?
  3. Thanks for all the advice everybody To be honest Id probably be changing my lid next year as I wanted to get that one with the glasses inside and the face that lifts up, I hadnt even considered what would happen with sunnies on if I came off, its important to look cool when you crash but it wouldnt be cool if one of the lenses came out, then Id just look stupid! So I need a fixs for the next year or so, I guess I could always squint as that would be cheaper, but I need some decent sunnies anyway......hmmmm.....should I ride the lightning???!?!?!? No, sod it, Im gona order myself a visor, I can keep this lid as a spare anyway!
  4. Ive considered getting a visor but dont fancy spending £40 on something that will be no good to me if / when I change my helmet, does anybody know of any decent sunnies that fit nicely inside a helmet?

  8. I could possibly be intersted in this, only problem I have is I have a tight Schedule in July as Im in madrid on 13th and 14th of July and Im doing the amsterdam trip on 21st of July so I would only be able to fit this trip in from 5th July to 11th or 16th July to 21st and would have to end at Calais so I can meet the amsterdam trip goers!!

Ferry crossing is still £54. Get in touch if you fancy joining us, dates are leave early morning 7th August come back 9th August. Alan

  14. I read to check which way round sections 2 and 3 are, as I can never remember without checking. Why do you assume that I would not know this? are you a black rat?
  15. Undertaking itself is not illegal as such (in that there exists no specific offence relating to undertaking), but the manoeuvre could be held to be contrary to Section 3 (Careless Driving) of the RTA 1988 (or in extreme cases Section 2 (Dangerous Driving) of the same act). Depends very much on the type of road, the position and relative road speed of other vehicles at the time of the manoeuvre, and what other infringements are enacted at the time. Your reading that arnt you?
  16. Undertaking is legal in certain circumstances, can you name them?
  17. My brother has just had to replace every fairing on his CBR, he found ebay the best place. As for the rain I use the head tilt method, however might try pledge after reading this thread
  18. Its only crossing the white line that isnt permitted!!! I think squeezing a bike past a car may be careless driving / riding, but you wouldnt be in breach of this particular law if you didnt cross the line!
  19. Looks like this trip is on, so far it me, Scat, my mate tripod with a couple of others interested. Is anybody else interested?

  23. Date is set as leave on Friday 7th August 2009 come home on the Sunday, so far there are 3 defiantes (me, my mate Darren with an R1 and clashfan83) there are two others at work interested. The most likely scenarios is leave early Friday morning, come back Sunday early evening. Its looking like ferry will cost £54 each, hotel (if shared) about £70 ish but cannot confirm until I get numbers and look to book, totaly mileage is approx 385 miles each way. If your intersted then PM me, then I will price up the whole deal and look to book it. Alan
