    Throttle sticking

Thanks guys. What would you lubricate it with? WD40? Engine oil be fine?
  2. Thanks guys. The ACF50 sounds interesting. You say its harder to wash off...but why would you want to? Surely thats the point in an anti-water anti-corrosion chemical? Just being curious. Its only to apply to the more delicate areas like the swingarm etc when a rainy spell comes in for a while. Ill look into it....a trip down gericke is in order i think....thanks guys!
  3. Ive lost access to my garage, and now need to leave the bike outside the house. Albeit, its under a cover, and well covered at that, but im concerned about the bottom of the wheels and side stand rusting with it constantly being unprotected like that. Im also concerned about crucial parts gathering up moisture (like the swingarm) during the morning dew and any other residue that comes into the equation when not indoors. Is there something i can spray it with, like an oil based formula that repels water and stops corrosion? WD40 would be the simplest answer

    Throttle sticking

As some of you may have seen from my other threads. Ive just bought a Fazer 600, 2004. Riding it around, i noticed that when i pull the clutch in to change gear the revs occasionally keep going for a short time. The throttle physically goes back to where it should...sometimes i make sure it does, but the bike sounds like its revving over. Ive adjusted the knob underneath the throttle lever to make sure it snaps back when it should do, still, same problem. Is it possible that its sticking somewhere, but not in the switch. Or am i just not used to how the bike goes yet?
  5. looking at a fazer in particular but talking in general. Im guessing its a lot more than just taking the fairing off. What does it entail before i jump in head first. Take off fairing, replace headlight/headlight conversion...etc..
  6. Thanks guys...will check it out and get back to you.
  7. The noise is coming from the end of the exhaust...ive run my ear and hand along the pipe and nothing is out of the ordinary there. The origin is the end and its totally baffling me (sorry about the pun)
  8. Noticed it earlier. When its revved, instead of the clean sound of revs theres a little "rasp" afterwards. Sounds like something is loose in the exhaust, something rattling, but not quite. The baffles in securely and its all fine as far as i can tell, but this little noise is annoying. Hard to explain on here but was just wondering if somebody could give me a general idea of what it might be. Its a 2005 Suzuki sv650 by the way.
  9. Same I cant imagine a backpack being dangerous unless your carrying rocks in it or something, Im just thinking if im sliding down the floor on my back, ima welcome the laptop thats coming between me and that very abrasive stuff whizzing past.
  10. i'd get some carpet spray/ car mat cleaner foam, spray them then give em a wipe with a cloth, and some fresh insoles. Thas a good plan
  11. Saw a LUSH Tuareg one at Hein the other day, went back to buy it and theyd sold out. Now cant find it ANYWHERE...google, ebay...nothing!
  12. So ive just inherited a new pair of Puma motorcycle boots. There a bit grubby, the outside can be wiped down with a sponge. But how do i clean the inside, im guessing its not as easy as chucking them in the washer?
  13. Yeah i popped in earlier and bought myself the Chain...£10R! And the trousers, which seemed half tidy and half the price of Gerickes cheapest! Wasnt a fan of anything else, took a peek at the backpacks and thermals...but thought against it.
  14. Helmet Jacket Gloves Boots Trousers Back protector Extra armour I was really torn between boots and trousers...thats a tough one. But thats how i rate it. Will never leave without jacket, gloves and helmet. But as said before, im guilty of riding 5 minutes to work in jeans.
  15. Would love for this to go nationwide. Who here is guilty of sometimes.....sometimes!...riding in cycle lanes
  16. Ive got Spada Force II winter gloves and theyre awesome. All good reviews and rated number 1 for warmth and waterproof by a few magazines. Cant be a bad brand if all of the above posts are true....Quality!
  17. I popped down and bought myself some gloves, thought theyd be alright for the summer. And the disc lock. Not sure if its any good but its loud enough to scare away anybody thinking about it.
  18. A lidl bit You didnt...
  19. Is it sad that im actually looking forward to the 16th?

  21. Im looking for some security for my bike when its left unattended. I got a ground anchor and stuff at home, but im on about in and around town. I hear all these stories of bikes being pushed away, so what would YOU invest in to stop this? Disclocks, personally, i can see a lot of ways of getting around these. Lifting up front wheel etc. Chains and padlocks also have there flaws. But a chain can act as many things: just put through back wheel, attach to railings, etc. Discuss, im looking for opinions
  22. Bloody lucky those brambles were there by the sounds of it.
  23. Id like to forget that particular sentence...let alone the injury.
  24. ooo I tried one of them on other day fit like a glove and only £90 Trouble is i would have to buy a new dark visor as well so will stick with my own for the moment! £90!! i paid £150....bloody Gericke! If your thinking about getting one, have a play around with the chin strap in the shop. It is thick and sits right on your adams apple. I managed to adjust it to be a bit more comfortable but its a pain in the backside
  25. I like this plan....ok, so walking around my flat with soggy gloves on is the plan for tommorow....excited!
