Never had a problem on the Fazer (which has a little visor), even fully loaded. I use the headstock strap for security, but never had the bad so much as move. Great bit of kit. Works well on the tail, too with straps... I use some of that non-slip matting you can get for dashboards to protect the tank otherwise it'll rub.

No reason why you can't change chain and sprockets youself mate. Buy yourself a Hayes manual, some thread lock and a cheep tourque wrench from screw fix. Save yourself some money and get to know your machine better. In difficulty terms changing chain and sprocks is "not-very-at-all". It's as simple as sliding on black ice. Make sure to make sure the rear wheel is straight when you're done. Nervous about doing it yourself? I'd be MORE nervous about what some clueless pleb in a naff garage would do to it! Give it some thought.

Have you removed the front sprocket cover and checked for any loose hoses, cracks, grit etc? Maybe check the airbox is intact and nothing rattling around in there? Is the bottom fairing mount point OK, i.e not cracked? If so, Hellfrauds do resin you could patch it up with...

Been a while since I spent some quality time on my bike. If anyone is at a loose end this Saturday 17th I was thinking about leaving Bassets Pole around 1100h, then farting along the A38 to the A515 which has been re-surfaced between Kings Brom and Draycot on the Clay I believe, Up to Ashebourne, past Carsington Water then on to the Mattest of Locks for a coffee. Return simply the reverse. Nice 50mph roads, so 125 friendly. If anyone is interested, pop a line here but bare in mind this is not an "organised" trip in anyway. Me and a friend bought some £30 jobbis from ebay - basicly little walkie talkies with a button for your handlebar and mic / speaker for the helmet. They were OK for a bit, but in the end we stopped using them and relied on gestures instead. Too much faf to plug in, check frequency change batteries etc etc.

having seen a mates abba stand I wouldn't dream of buying one. I'll use my mates shop and make a copy though

Stoopid question... Checked your air filter / choke? Just suggesting to check the air, as will as the spark. You've not got a pigeon in your airbox have you? My FZ gets a bit like that if I forget to take the chocke of, sometimes. CvB

Arai Viper GT. After a blast with one of them, EVERYTHING will go quiet. Possibly for days. The missus' HJC is quiet. As was my old Shark & AGV. Just avoid things with sidepods. CvB

Not a problem I'm blingin' up my Black SL1000 tonight with new posh 'dicators and red hoses - already has red hydrolics. That should give the trolls something to munch on Piccies to follow.

You might consider a scottoiler - excellent bit of kit. Kerosene works a frickin treat - £5 for 5l in Asda. Grab a plant spray gun - thing and spray it all over the chain and give it a scrubbin'. I can't recomend it enough. Then slosh any old engine oil on it. Bish bosh bash job done, me china. Stay the hell away from Holts chain lube- it has the consistency of swarfega. WD40 is a bad idea too IMHO. CvB

Thanks to the guys who organised Sunday (and Mikey!). I had a great day- awesome to meet everyone and ride out with so many other bikes!
