I know it's a fatboy it's the HD naming of things, often a Harley has half the alphabet after it's name, non of which makes any sense to me.

As it's not got 2 shiny springs and shocks on display I'm presuming it's a later one with mono and the chances of harley death wobble have been reduced.

This may help (it helped me, anyway).

Lovely, classic bike, Bob, and it seems very well priced to me.

That's a cracking offer, but sadly I have consumed far too many biker brekkies to fit into them. I'm sure someone less portly will be very pleased to have them.

Yes, it really is thanks. However, the jackets are now on hold elsewhere pending a try-on when the bloke who wants them returns from holiday. I'll update this thread as and when.

  3. SOLD

For sale is my son's CB125F in yellow. It's in great condition for a 6 year old bike, with generally no more than minor signs of use (please see photos, which form a part of this description) and just 9219 miles on the clock backed up by full service and MOT history. Any noticeable blemishes are in the main on the exhaust and adjacent heel guard; for the most part the fairings and painted parts are unmarked - just one or two areas of relatively minor rubbing  or scuffing. It starts every time, and is a really reliable bike for learning, nipping around town and/or just a cheap means of transport (it's just been used for commuting but Sam now wants to try his hand with a car!).

As mentioned above the bike has done very few miles, and the service book is stamped for 12/16, 5/18, 5/19, 11/20 and 4/22. Last MOT'd on 11/4/22 with no advisories. Comes with 2 keys.

£1675 ONO. Now 1495. Bike located in Hertfordshire and inspection welcome.

  4. Having moved over to the dark side with a Harley due to be collected in a week or two, I've decided to move on a couple of brilliant Triumph jackets that I bought a while back and have since worn about once each (I currently have NINE jackets). They're both size medium and fit true to size, so good for a 40" chest and not too rotund a physique.

The first is the Beinn GTX, which you can find here. It's a superb technical jacket with Gore-Tex inner jacket (which can be worn on its own) and a myriad of features - do read the description in the link. Retails at £600 but offered at £185 in the UK. SOLD

The second is another Gore-Tex jacket, this time the T1 Deck. The details of this one can be found here (just scroll down a bit for the spec), but again it's a beautifully crafted jacket, with multiple season use. Retails at £450, but offered at £115 delivered in the UK.

I haven't posted photos of them hanging from a door handle (but can if you really want me to) - they're in perfect condition and complete with all the armour that they came with.

    Nice purchase.

With the ceramic coating and ACF50, will be no excuse not to keep it pristine. 👍

Thanks! I'm not actually a fastidious cleaner, and I'm already thinking that the remaining chrome (mostly casings, as the exhaust has already been switched to black) may have to be swapped out for black.

I've spoken to the dealership about it (and a friend with the same bike has just had them do similarly for him) but given that the lead time for the parts is about a month and I wasn't offered any discount, I thought I'd see how I get on as-is first. It's not a cheap conversion, and if I can keep the chrome looking nice I may just forget about it.

    Hi

    Long time no see.

Hope you're well I hope you are keeping the Thruxton  ?

I have bought a bigger Harley also with a stage 2 and it's hilarious lol.

The previous owner clearly had deep pockets.

    Cheers

Hi Ian - all good thanks, and hope it's the same in your world.

Re the Thruxton, I actually chopped it in a year ago for a Tiger 900 GT Pro. There's no question that the Tiger is a brilliant bike - it just didn't make me go weak at the knees, though.

You're bike looks fantastic. Hilarious is about right, isn't it? 😂

  7. Thank you so much, guys! I'm guilty of having been AWOL for a while now, but to be completely honest life has just got in the way... started a new full time job after over a year of zero income due to COVID; and was also working on a new photography business as a sideline...

Anyway, hope you're all well and I'll try to get back to participating here as soon as I have a bit of headroom!

This looks like the one I use (and will actually be using in about an hour's time). It works quite well, but the wheel needs lining up properly as it can move slightly as you turn it. It's a good alternative to a paddock stand if - like me - you find using the latter an absolute nightmare!

Thanks LTF good luck with yours, have you any experience with headshot photography, it's not as easy as it sounds is it. Make sure you have plenty of lighting, what colour backgrounds have you got as I have found light to medium greys and blues tend to get better results, and are a bit more forgiving with shadows as they seem to blend in better. Have you anyone to do makeup for you, if not try and find someone as they are always handy to have around, or if you feel confident enough you could DIY, but get some basic tuition as even that is a minefield nowadays.

I myself will be concentrating on the modelling side, as I have the time now to devote to it, although I will still do weddings and potraits whenever I get asked. There's not much difference between what we are both doing, if you get stuck on anything or you want someone to critique, let us know i would be happy to help where i can. All the best  :thumb:

Thank you! I'll drop you a PM rather bore everyone on the thread :)

I know how you feel i'm in a similar position, just use this time wisely for your preparations, you can still go out as has been said for work, and taking photos for your website is work. If you can get yourself an ID card as a freelance photographer who are classed as essential workers might help with any uncertainty :thumb:

Good luck with the venture :thumb:

This is true but be wary of over zealous law enforcement. It would be hard to prove on the spot what you are doing is business related depending on the location and subject, weddings are pretty much self explanetary, but how would you explain for example taking photos of people in a park, just something to watch out for.

Thanks, and good luck to you too.

It’s essentially going to be a headshot business (with some portrait photography for good measure). I have a new page already written for my existing website but it’s presently hidden, and will stay that way until I’ve uploaded the stock images that I need (and that’s the crux of the issue).

What are you going to be up to?

You can travel as much as you want if it’s for business, and adding images to your business portfolio is work ... and you can’t do it working from home ...

Absolutely right but I need people, unfortunately. It’s frustrating but I’ll get there eventually.

    Glad ur ok 👍

    Hows the new venture going?

Thanks Caroline. Well, It's eventually going to be a new photography-related business, but whilst we're in lockdown all I can do is prepare. I'm just waiting for some equipment to arrive, after which I need to get some portfolio shots together. I can then update my website, after which I can start some marketing (and then wait!).
