  1. Just shows the power of checking MOT history. Honestly, I only found out about that government website last year, and it was a dealer who told me about it when I was asking about the millage on my current bike. And it's a free check
  2. well looks like he realised his mistake See updated Ad
  3. Read the ad tho Yes , I see . Need to fix that ad up with some putty
  4. You can get it from autotrader whem you email seller.
  5. Found this on bbc... Altering the mileage on a vehicle is not illegal, but selling it on without telling the subsequent buyer is fraud. Prospective buyers of a second-hand car, van or bike can check the vehicle's MOT history via a government website. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11897982
  6. Whats going on here? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201901314482291 Done 200 Miles but MOT history tells a different story. https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk License: KU06SWL

    degreaser!!!

Seems to be easy enough to get on Amazon. I understand the concern with getting this on brakes and tires. But isnt this stuff easy to come off? I planning on letting it soak for 15 minutes, brush it, then jet wash it off (ill be doing this at petrol garage car wash area) .

    degreaser!!!

About to buy some Paraffin after reading this thread. Few questions: 1) What part of the bike should I never spray this stuff on? 2) How long do a let it soak for? 3) How much water should I mix it with..for example... 4 parts water, 1 part Paraffin, or do I spray it on concentrate?
  10. im still gonnna solder it . I know putty wont last.
  11. *Update* - Just rode 30miles and no leak! Looks like the putty worked! I guess it wasnt working last night because the putty hadnt finished curing yet. Will keep an eye on it, but im quite pleased with the results so far.
  12. So i found the leaky pipe, seems to be leaking at the back where it's rubbing against the fan housing. I cut the pipe back on either side and patched the sides up with putty. Wasnt able to fold pipes back like Bob did. Waiting for the putty to cure.
  13. Filtering too quick. Cant react to any sudden car movement in your path. id be filtering about x3 slower than this.
  14. I don't have a garage or mechanical confidence to be taking the bike apart. Will need to remove fuel tank even before tackling the radiator. Regarding the putty, I think the crack is too slight to warrant cutting the pipe and folding it back. I'm just hoping this solution doesnt fail an MOT?!
  15. Well I'm forced to concede, the Radweld also failed me. Since my radiator is buggered, there is no harm in attempting your solution. I have pointed to the horizontal pipe where I think the leak is logically coming from. My plan is to cut into those air fins just below the pipe to expose the crack, then seal it with high-temperature putty. And only crimp the pipe if the putty fails. I think I can do it without removing the radiator from the bike. I have a mini hacksaw to do the job.
  16. I pay £54 for breakdown cover, no excess and 5 callouts. If you use a comparison site, just be sure to check online reviews before committing. I almost got a £35 cover with no excess and 6 callouts, but then there were lots of negative reviews. I'd rather pay for extra £20 for a piece of mind I have a reputable company helping me out.
  17. Everything happens for a reason. Probably, in the long run, failing this test saved your life or your bike in the future. We were driving behind a motorbike yesterday whose rider had full license, but he was terrible. Had no balance, no sense of foot positioning and almost rear ended the car infront due to tailgating. Bad habits almost cost him. Im sure his luck will only last for so long riding like that.
  18. I recently got breakdown cover for my Bike and read in the small print the bike must not be over 15 years old. Seems standard practice and presumably they won't cover you, or charge a fortune if its that old. if breakdown companies are unwilling to take the risk, then to me that suggests you should follow suit and buy a newer bike, maybe around 2008-2012.
  19. I don't filter traffic unless it's gridlocked, and then I proceed very cautiously. I don't use bus lanes. They have different rules, so I just play it safe and don't use. I remember around 10 years ago I was filtering traffic and some woman pulled out on me without checking her mirror, presumably so she could get a better look in front of her. I swerved, closed my eyes, made a funny face and luckily missed her by inches. Maybe that incident had an effect on me.
  20. Yeah i only put 1/3 of the bottle in.
