  1. Im looking at the Carve master jacket and D explorer trousers.

    Hope they are worth it.

Not sure Joe both are Gore-tex membrane not laminate. That means they are 100% waterproof, but the outer material will get soaked with water that means they will get very heavy and then you need many hours to dry them out.

The pants are about £30 cheaper then laminated Lontan D1.

Can anyone recommend a jacket that is Gore-tex laminated and a reasonable price?

  2. I remember leaving my school on a British Army base in Germany and getting home and my brother was watching it and as I started to watch, the second plane hit. I always remember just how the buildings collapsed as if was controlled.

Have to admit I don't necessarily believe the conspiracy theories but I certainly won't be surprised if one day more comes to light about the whole situation.

  3. If you don't come back for any reason ... can I have your bike :thumb:

Might be disappointed there as don't think he has one currently, when are you going to rectify that Adam? Surely soon? :)

  4. Same at our local Adolf centre, once it's in there, it's theirs.

But I did have some fun last time, dumped a huge box of cd albums, a good 3 or 4 of the workers came over and started going through them, each making their own little pile of favourites.....

I thought shall I tell them? Naaaa spent 10 mins getting rid of rest of my crap and then watched them open the cases to find jack Sh;t inside, Ahahahahah made my day. They were all safely tucked up in my cd folder at home.

  5. I have a Drift Ghost HD and a GoPro Hero4 silver. The GoPro is mounted on the side of the helmet and I forget it's there most of the time. No issues.

I want to mount mine on the chin but have the same issue with it being too sharp. I've heard Sugru works great though.

Do you feel the GOPro is better than the drift? I must have jinxed mine, the mount blumin fell off today, luckily just as I got off my bike and not on the actual 45 min ride, very odd!

Quality wise the GoPro wins hands down.

In terms of shape the drift has it

I'm tempted by a Drift Stealth 2. They are so tiny these days but a lot of money !

But I take it the drift ghost HD is better than the drift stealth 2?

  7. Gopros are the wrong shape/size for helmet mounting.

Get a smaller camera like the Mobius.

Hmm aren't there quite a few well known vloggers who use go pros on the side of their helmet? The ghost drift is a nice camera for helmet mounting. I have a similar one from Midland, XTC400. It's fine out of waterproof case but when is in it, it looks ridiculous.

  8. I've hardly used these gloves, not really sure why bought them, one of those yes I need these purchases!.....well I don't, I have two other pairs.

They cost £90 and from looking they sell new between £70 and £100 now. I'd take £40 for them and I'd cover postage for the buyer, think that's a fair price for these which are basically new.

I don't smoke either so no smoke smells on them!

  9. My nob of the day goes to van driver who starts waving his arms around at me for filtering. At a junction my light is green going straight ahead but at stand still, his is red and coming from left (B and Q exit to be precise) and he thinks it's ok to go through red light and cut across both lanes to squeeze into right land lane, at which point nearly taking me out. Oh and blames me.

  10. Thanks all, glad to hear positive experiences, the ones I have come across online so far mostly been negative. It's a difficult one as I can walk and get to work but I'm in constant pain pretty much, been so long I've just accepted it and try to do my best but I shouldn't accept it really and strive for a better quality of life.

Thanks NeilM I'll send you a pm, no rush, got 3 months to wait for the op at least. :)

    Thanks all again, much appreciated.

  11. So over the last 3 years, nearly 4 I have suffered badly with sciatica down my right leg. I've seen numerous consultants and had too many MRIs. The latest one shows two prolapsed discs. They finally feel after 3 years of pretty constant pain, and numerous occasions of not being able to move that I should have one of the discs shaved down. Basically shave a bit of it off. Even for this which isn't majorly intrusive I'll have to take 6-8 weeks off work and 5% chance it won't work and lead to increased pain.

Anyone had this before? My day to day life currently is ok but for example I can't play football anymore or do any sort of impact exercise. Can't swing the toddler round in the air or generally just do dad activities. The misses even has to do my right shoe lace!

I do still manage to ride the bike as touch wood is easier than using the car as use the leg a lot more in the car and positioning makes it worse.

Anyhow if anyone has any experience of it then let me know :)

  12. I was very pleasantly surprised when I part-ex'd the Fazer! :D

Wish that had been case for me, I've had an offer of £600 from one big dealership! That was insulting, it's not even me being unrealistic, they generally aren't going for under 2k privately. Granted mine has slightly higher miles than most but still just as good condition.

Anyway what are people's thoughts on this MT? Is local which appeals to me as just easier.

  13. You had that motocage special edition mt07 last time right? Thought those looked great. What have you gone for this time? Good luck with the sale btw.

    Cheers :)

I'm hoping to get the exact same model again if possible. There's a few used ones about currently. Ideally wanted to sell the XJR first but me being impatient I might just get the MT07 anyway and sell XJR whenever I can.

And in regards to part ex offers, yes truly crap but suppose can understand they are a business and need to make decent profit.
