  1. I read this title very wrong

Ha me too, especially if you sound it out as if you are Borat from Kazakhstan.

In all seriousness though I never knew how much effort went into these vapor things, nuts!

  2. lovely bike glad you can go back to the mt now have you checked out how much they would give you px on the xjr?

Cheers, do really like the XJR but prefer the MT, just easier through traffic which have to deal with a lot more now.

The p/x quotes on the XJR have been awful, privately they are tripling their offer easily. I only want pretty much what I paid for it. Had some interest but once get MOT on it will put it on fleabay.

  3. Well I've decided now that it is financially possible I'm going back to an MT07, I never wanted to sell my previous MT07 anyway. The XJR has been enjoyable to own but still prefer the MT.

The XJR is in good condition considering age, (15 years old) tyres, chain, sprockets have plenty of life in them yet. Comes with quite a bit of history, last serviced by previous owner end of 2015.

MOT runs out mid sept but can put a new one on before sale if new owner prefers but price will be nearer asking price.

Only couple of small things that will mention as want to be fully honest, fuel gauge doesn't work, but wouldn't take much to sort (possibly sports clocks stopping needle). I just use trip meter which is more accurate.

Also the level sensor for oil to tell you when getting low comes on but oil is full as per the sight glass. Common with older XJR/FJRs and sensor just needs cleaning or replacing. (I have a spare to come with bike) I don't have the space or time to do it.

The bike has had 3 previous owners, done 44k which is less than 3k for every year it's been about, HPI clear and is a beast of a bike that really does put a smile on your face!

It comes with lots of extras including

    New blue screen

    New Progrips Alu blue

    New barends

Rear LED tail light (Stock included)

    Renthal handlebars blue

    Custom indicators

    Chrome side stand

    White sports clocks

Stumpy exhausts which have a great deep sound (originals included, one of the originals has slight dent)

The bike runs great, you can leave it for 2 weeks and come back to it and it starts no problem. Mileage will increase as using it for work occasionally.

Bike is located in Norfolk but welcome to arrange collection if interested.

Any questions please feel free to reply or PM me.

    Cheers :)

  4. Hang on, so you get this app and then you physically walk around wherever (sometimes in middle of night) looking for virtual Pokemon? What is the reward?

I remember Pokemon craze when I was in my teenage years but think I was too old for it then, whys it popular with adults now?

Then again maybe I'm just old now at 32 and don't have time for it with having a toddler around....

Oh is it a fitness thing?

  5. Welcome to forum, surely if been given new glasses then it isn't just reading (dyslexia) that you suffer with otherwise they would have said you didn't need them?

Any bike instructor doing your CBT will fail you in same situation as be putting their job at risk otherwise.

However if I have misunderstood and is just down to Dyslexia then you can't be the first one surely.

  6. Moving to Mountain Ash, seems a nice area.

"Nice" isn't generally a word that's associated with anywhere around there.

Be aware that you're not going into some little rural paradise......it's a very tough area that was hit hard by Thatcher's policies 30 years ago.

If I went there I'd be considered an outsider initially even though I sound as Welsh as you can get. So just be aware of what you're going in to.

Wales isn't all rural farming communities.......in fact most of the South Wales valleys are devastated former industrial areas which are pretty run down and very poor. Hence the house prices.

Jeeez hope he hasn't completed on the move yet...

  7. Whoever takes over its going to struggle to ever get the same fan base the old presenters brought. Sometimes things should just be left in the past and accept it won't ever be what it was.

  8. Yeah we didn't have much choice, landlord wanted his house back. We were fortunate in that a few months before that inherited some money we could use for a deposit, just meant we had to find somewhere a lot quicker than we wanted to and top up the deposit with the sale of the bike.

That's rough but at least it all worked out for you. I was living with my girlfriend's parents and just needed out. It was really nice of them to let me move in but it wasn't easy

You did well to even try that! I could not do it with the misses parents or even my own, would just do my head in. What I really don't get is we are paying 50% less than our previous rent now that we have a mortgage and we still have no money! Life is odd at times!

  9. Yeah it's not good having to do it but needs must sometimes. I did go through stages of being like do I really need to buy a house ha

Yeah we didn't have much choice, landlord wanted his house back. We were fortunate in that a few months before that inherited some money we could use for a deposit, just meant we had to find somewhere a lot quicker than we wanted to and top up the deposit with the sale of the bike.

  10. I had to sell my k7 gsxr 600 to fund a house 3 months ago after only having it for 6 months

But now managed to pick myself a 1998 bandit for £400. It hadn't moved for 3 years. It was serviced and put in the garage under a cover and when we came along and pull it out the breaks weren't seized rolled freely, fork seals didn't burst and All I did was put fresh fuel in and battery and started right up.

Going for mot next week so wish me luck

Feel your pain, had to do same about 6 months ago. Had to sell my brand new MT07 Moto Cage to help fund the new house. I couldn't wait 1 month after moving in and got a good loan through my work to purchase a used XJR1300.

Good luck with the bandit, sounds like a good find!

  11. Wasn't going to take it out tonight but did and it was a good decision. Cromer on a rare summers evening! (Also did the tyre pressures whilst out and they were embarrassingly low, note to self check more often!)

P.s that moron in the 4x4 pulled up as I took the photo, I swear he did it on purpose as had loads of room to park up and view the sea away from where I was!!!

  12. what are single hex sockets? When I say rounded off bolts they are literally rusty and where the Phillips used to go is just a messed up rounded off hole.

    These are hex sockets

Sometimes you can jam one in enough to get a purchase and get a tough screw out. I imagine that is what hooner means.... *awaits to be corrected*

Always wondered what they are for in my tool set! :) cheers I'll give those a go first.

  13. I have several rounded off bolts on my bike that need replacing, so this is best to try first?

Have you tried single hex sockets? What size are they?

Not entirely sure on size, and excuse my lack of knowledge, what are single hex sockets? When I say rounded off bolts they are literally rusty and where the Phillips used to go is just a messed up rounded off hole.

  14. We had a cellar in one of the married quarters in Germany,

full sized groundfloor lay-out and steps up to the back garden.

    It was marvellous! :D

Aren't the Germans great, I grew up in two married quarters in Germany, one had a useable cellar with 4 very large rooms. We used them for a kids toy room, utility room, storage room and final one an air rifle range it was that long!

In our second quarters it was so good that my brother had the cellar as his bedroom. It was huge and perfect for a teenager who didn't see much daylight!

I love that country! They just do everything properly, especially pot holes, our pot hole filling system is caveman like compared to theirs. Anyway getting off topic now, I best shut up :)

  15. never met joe or six but it would take a lot more than this to offend me hell you cant go through life looking like this and worry about the little things in life like banter on here

Yeah I've met you and can tell that, never did get that sodding GPZ to work, sold the bugger! I guess I was just thinking if it was someone who was having a shit time of it then sometimes the banter can backfire.
