  1. Looks like something seperated rather than a hole. Bikes only 3 months old. I'll have a closer look when I get back tomorrow. Cheers guys.
  2. HI. I just blew up my exhaust, or something. I pulled out to overtake, pinned the throttle, and it all went loud and poppy. I rode all the way back home at 20mph because of the noise, and over bumpy ground i could hear metallic rattling and clanging behind the massive exhaust noise. I cant see that much, and i've gotta dash off to a wedding in 10 minutes :s Here's a picture. I dont know ho wwell it shows up, but i can see a gap in the pipe where the arrow points. And when i rev it i can see dust blowing around directly underneath on the road, in addition to the usual around where the silencer is. Does anyone know if this sounds about right? and is it safe to ride to get fixed? (if warrenty covers it its about 30 miles away). Also, if it sounds like that's all it is, is it expensive? Thanks
  3. I am happy with it really. The sensible part of me knows that i need to learn to ride this one to it's full potential first anyway.
  4. Hmm... trouble with that is i get jealous of everyone elses bikes I like the look of the GSXRs like yours, but i've only just bought mine, brand new, so i'd be wasting a lot of money if i changed anytime soon
  5. What do you guys do there? Do you meet and then go for a spin? or just meet and hang out?
  6. It was good. We had kamakazi pidgeons, teeny ickle birdies that had decided that life wasn't worth living anymore just sitting in the middle of the road, and a nifty fence panel obstacle course. And it was amusing to see the guys in front all checking out the girls walking down the road. Eyes right in a staggered timing domino effect
  7. We passed some horses today. They seemed very grateful. I mean the people riding/walking them. Not the horses.
  8. Thanks for having me along fellas. I enjoyed it. I'll try and tag along next time too.
  9. Hi Aaron,It was a fail because he marked it as an S for 25.Awareness/planning so a serious fault for bad planning on my stupid mistake is an instant fail ...all I had to Do was pull in by the side of road I Dont know why I pulled into the entrance to the railway sidings I think My mind was going 10 to the dozen and I wasn't sure If I was turning left or pulling into the left so I kinda did both and If the pedestrien had not been there it would have just been a minoron forward planning he said Its my fault I was overloading myself and very nervous of stuffing up so I did Oh, I see. Shit happens. No reason not to try again unless you're strapped.
  10. Weather forecast says "scorchio". Happy days.
  11. I'm surprised that was a fail. As far as i was aware they can't fault you for going the wrong way. You just misunderstood what he said, unless i misread yur post. Anyway, never mind, if the examiner said you were fine otherwise, then just book another. It'll be worth the few quid. I thought i did worse second time round, but i passed. There's always that gap for subjective interpretation of the reasons why you did something. Sometimes you have to just give him another opportunity to do the right thing and pass you
  12. I gotcha. Wooden bench outside. Bus stop other side of the road. 10:00 should be fine. I used to work in St.Ives and it took less than an hour in the car, so on the bike should be less. Incase there's any mishap and you see me randomly riding about looking lost, i'm on a bright green kawasaki with red/white helmet/boots and black leathers. Look forward to the tomorrow : )
  13. I don't mind trekking. It'll get my tyres nice and warm.
  14. I might be about if you're up for babysitting a noob.
  15. Good luck! You're either up to scratch or you're not. So with that in mind just enjoy the ride. Nerves don't help and trying too hard won't make you pass if you're not up to scratch anyway, the best way to maximise your chances is to relax and enjoy : )
  16. I wear a Forcefield Pro Sub4 every time I ride any motorbike, OTT? Not in my opinion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JpoS5OUGdI They interviewed this guy on tv and he reckons his back protector saved him.
  17. I'd suggest saying out loud to yourself, inside your helmet, "easy peasy... nice and casual....". Say it to yourself now and then while riding or doing 'manouvres'. It will help slow you down and give you some breathing space. Help stop you think too much. Be cool like fonzy. Casual. Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast. If you stall say to yourself "nice and casual..." and calmly do what you need to do. The examiner expects a novice, so he won't mind little mistakes as long as you recover and do what's required.
  18. And.....? *edit* oh... i thought wednesday was Mod2. Lol.
  19. Good effort. Gimme a shout when you're out. I've never ridden with anyone before.
  20. I prefer the term "active steering". Like thw guy i quoted said, everyone does it, but if you're aware of how it works you can "actively" use it to turn better. MEntioned already, but i'll say again because i get irritated by all these misleading youtube tutorials. COuntersteering just puts the bike into a lean. And the only reason to lean is, as mentioned, to keep the center of gravity inside the turn so you don't flip over. Woah.... I just squashed a BIG f***ing spider..... I hate all these youtube vids that simply say "to turn the bike you gotta lean". I'm sure this is why we see so many people leaning the bike way more than required, and riding crossed up. Because they think that lean literally means turn.
  21. i bought my ShoeiXr1000 from GW at the MCN/Carole Nash show earlier this year. The guy asked if i wanted the box or just to have it in the bag, so i just took the bag. When i got home i discovered that i was missing the pinlock insert. I remember the box said "anti-mist visor included in box". I didn't realise it was the pinlock insert that it was talking about, and my helmet had the visor fitted. So i went to my local yamaha dealer (WAY expensive) and spent about another 24 quid on an insert
  22. Mine is size M (and i got a big head. No wonder it's snug) and i think the cheek pads were 34mm. I wanted smaller but the smallest is 32mm, so i bought a balaclava instead to keep my ears in place, and i intend to try to press my cheek pieces a little flatter under something heavy (i've done 2k miles in it).
