  2. hello fellow mz owner.did u adjust plate with 3 screws correctly?
  3. Bought mz with mikuni carb fitted..idle screw was screwed right in and doesn't seen to do much ..revs low at idle until u lift slide via cable adjust in top of carb.....my question is it seems to be runner rich maybe but bloke I got bike off is running premix 40:1 rather than 50:1 it should be would that make it run rich or weak ( as in fuel quantity rather than oil )due to 40:1 ratio ????? Answers on a postcard please lol
  4. Thanks mate ..been busy picking them up.need a few things one being side stand for 16" rim and few gaskets for side cover leak.all for the ts .etz sold and away ,but ts staying with me .I have a set of panniers homemade I don't want ,its idle screw is not doing much and I suspect its running rich due to blocked air passage or needle to low ..its been fitted with a mikuni carb to make it a rad more snappy .great bike so far
  5. One bike is a 1978 ts250 /1 and other one a late 80's model...no photos as yet but looking forward to annoying neighbours lol

  7. Just bought 2 mzs one from 78 and other from 86 .. Any advice from members .one has a mikuni carb conversion ..
  8. being a car technician at mo and have been for 30 years the basic and crazy mzs are a welcome step backwards into the past ...a reminder of how crazy and computer reliant we are in modern times were common sense and using a brain is slowly been taken over daily ...rant over lol
  9. That's the spirit . Wait till you see what's inside the headlight . Looks like something out of an old telephone exchange. Everything is just so different . And that's the joy of the MZ . Be very careful with the brakes , especially in damp weather . They can grab so fiercely that they will have you off . mate has just finished restoring one so have seen the wiring inc headlamp junctions..and wrong codes for wiring and wrong lengths lol....crazy bikes but that's the appeal..like the speedo cable running from rear sprocket !!!
  10. Deal done ..now hooked on mzs lol
  11. Perhaps you would prefer the standard Trophy version ? Or would the 125 be more to your taste ? I had two of these . Communist technology at its finest . one bike is a ts just like lower photo...ugly,slow,Smokey, pish people off in traffic, weird ....sounds lovely
  12. Thanks guys...I'm off soon to look at them and make up mind ...the more I look online at them the more I like the ugliness and the ring ding ding ding ding .lol.. King of the rings dings :

  17. Any members know value of a late 70s mz ts250 ?? And a late 80's etz 250 ?...both running and ts has got drum break and premix. Been offered a swap with them for a bike of mine valued around £1400
  18. .......how i used my head and insured a 50cc moped years before i had test and used it now and again, but kept a full motorcycle policy on it.. So.... I have now 7years no claims bonus as i didnt have a off in whole time .. Best to get road experience before test
  19. got my renewal in post, for my Gsx750f and a 1958 moped on a multibike policy fully comp inc travel to work.... £130. Ive passed my test not even 2years yet!
  20. Maybe u should of checked plug type before post?? Br6hs?? I've just fired up my moped (2 stroke) which has lay since June not started, fired up after 20secs of pedal assist... Advice for future always turn off fuel on stroke and allow it to use float fuel up before storage
  21. Some people get bikes and talk about freedom and individuality as being primary motivation to get one. Then spend the rest of their life trying to belong and fit in to a particular segment of the market! Even down to wearing the same f@cking branded clothing! 15 years ago the Beemer crew weren't impressed by my tatty jeans and steel toe caps! Even less when I wore my battered 25 year old leather jacket as well! bmh.jpg And you know what......I'm still wearing them today! While their official brand merchandise has fallen apart! I like the Alan bast*rd impression lol...
