  1. Thanks for the link. Think I will use the CD idea first, if that fails then will go to halfords and buy a kit. Will let you know how it goes (if i ever get round to doing it...)
  2. Too rite! its only cuz the crack is nearing the edge and im scared it will snap off (although its likely it wont, im just paranoid lol) I have loads of blank CD's. I also had one that i found in my drawer with all sorts of random sh*t on it. It had ring tones from different phones (e.g nokia, samsung etc) so it didnt come from a phone company. It also had random logo's for various things, some comical clips, some football clips (all under 1 min long) and some songs.. just found it in a drawer and it doesnt belong to anyone in the house... now i dunno wer it is. its like its disapeared just as it apeard.. anyway, that was a bit off topic, just wanted to tell yall lol. Think I will try the CD idea, however is it not a it smooth? D'ya think i should sand it a it first to roughen it up?
  3. A question on halfords QandA section for a fribreglass repair kit "Will this repair snapped motorbike plastics? Q: Would this Glass Fibre repair my motorcross plastics that are snapped? 9 months ago by JamesF - Lancing Answers Staff Answer A: Glass fibre is not suitable for repairing plastics. If you have a clean break then you may be able to use an adhesive to repair it." Thanks for the idea though. Anyone got any other cheap and simple ideas?
  4. Awesome, thanks guys. and fredc, I have no idea... some sort of plastic lol Anyone have any other ideas what to use instead of milk carton or fibre glass. I just want something that will hold because tbh i cba with the ride into town to get anything. Could there be anything I would likely to have around the house? Anyone have any ideas? If not, then will stop y halfords next time i go into town. Thanks for the link to there site Also, if I was to use fibre glass, could i still use areldide? or would i have to buy some special stuff to bond it?
  5. I have a crack on 1 of my panels. If i push the panel together, u can hardly even tell its there. I have come up with a cheap and easy way to solve it, although people i speak to dont think it will work. An old milk carton (the plastic ones) Aeroldite. Do a bit of patchwork on the inside of the panel (cut a bit of milk carton, or any other sort of plastic and aeraldite it onto the panel) Would it work?
  6. Hum... that cant b rite.. 10 hours? maybe im wrong. but i usually only use my bike (therefore my gloves) to and from college on "lazy days" (most days lol). the jurney is well within walking distance, so thats about 5 mins use. then 5 mins back. thats 10 mins a day, and 2-5 days a week. then the occasional ride into town, about 40-50 minutes there. so reali not much milage!... Although my bike reads that I have done 1000 miles (or Killomitors.. it doesnt say ut it has both on the speedo..) Something isnt rite.. maybe i have done more miles in them than i thought. Still, not many.
  7. These are what i have at the moment (the white bits are wer it has warn through) I have only had them a few months and they are already warn. As I am new to biking i am wandering if this is due to the gloves, or due to my style or riding as I only use the bike about an hour a week, so they shouldnt have warn. Also, am looking at getting these gloves. Do you think they will wear as quickly? or do i need to look for something else? (they are "HG NAGANO GLOVES BLACK") Thanks guys!
  8. its rusted up, i used wool wire and got mot of it off before applying 2 coats of high temp paint. after a month it has all come off and its rusting again. i believe this is due to me leaving a bit of rust on it before painting. Is it a good idea to sand blast it to get rid of all the rust? is there any reason why i shouldnt? Also, does anyone know roughly how much it would cost to get someone to do it? or if its possible to rent a sand blaster myself? Thanks in advance
  9. when turning left, when doing lifesavers, which shoulder should you look over? or should u look over both? because i remember reading somewhere that you should look over your right shoulder, but seems more sensible to look over your left to me?
  10. Does anyone know where to get details of how to set up the module 1 course? I mean something more accurate than those pictures show. I want to know how far apart cones should be, especially for the high speed manover. Because the images I have found dont show how much you have to swerve to get through the cones. I want this info to set up my own course to practice on as I cannot really afford the £500 training... I know you will all tell me I need it, but I am trying to get info from the web and the "get on" hours I can do for free. ( I say hours because my local place doesnt seem to know you are only allowed one hour per person lol) Since the module 1 itself only costs £15 I will try doing it without training once, and if I fail I will go for the training. So any help would be brill
  11. I think i am correct in saying that the actual motorbike test is something like an hour long, however my local test centre only does cources that are two whole days. Am I correct in thinking that this time is spent training? If so is there any way of doing this training in stages, like you would with a car? e.g do an hour a day for a week?
  12. Do you not need to pull in the clutch in aswell? If so, when? because if you dont, surely it would stall or lurch forwards? (mayb wrong as have only just got into bikes.
  13. went to a party last nite with gf. She went back to hers after half an hour to get summin, I asked if I could go with, she said "no!". was gone for hour and half. After that she got piss faced ( i didnt) I got bored of watching her stumble everywere and being pissed, I told her this and she hit me so I just walked off. She then told me basically to get lost, so I did. However one of her mates convinsed me to stay. She puked up, I got her water and tissue and wasnt having a good time at all. Then I felt sick and so I was nr the toilet for 5 mins, she went off and had a good time.. I was like, yea, I sit by u when u puke but when i feel ill u f**k off... Anyway, went ack to hers and thismornin woke up @ around 11 and she went "im goin into town at 12" (which she arranged when she got up) I was like... Thought we could have a good time today as I had a crap night watchin u be pissed last nite, She said yea well Im going in an hour. (Not even invite) As I left I said dont you think its a bit rude if u have a guest round to go out an hour after you get up, and not even mention it? with that she walked back inside. I went home. F*CK IT! And for the first time in a yr n 10 months, with a tear in my eye, I say F*CK HER!

    rust curer?

My exhaust has rusted badly (well only surface rust, but a LOT of it) I got most of it off and put some exhaust paint on it which has now peeled because the rust is flaking, Is there anything I can put on it that would sort of cure it? (like hammerite, which I was going to use untill lukly at the last minute I remembered how hot the exhaust gets lol) And apparently there is spme other stuff that will kind of turn rust back to metal, ut doesnt. I cant think how it was explained, like "it turns the rust back to metal ut it isnt as strong" or something. Anyway do you know anything suitable for exhausts? and I dont want to manually get the rust off because it took me 2 days to get half of it off and I dont have a sand blaster Any ideas? Sorry if this post makes no sense, I kind of wrote things down as they came to mind.
  16. Awsom. thanks people! especially to walney. I will try it out when i have time
  17. ermm.. I may be wrong, since i have no idea what packing is, but surely water is not ment to be in the exhaust so if it is soaked up it is a bad thing?
  18. It looks pretty much like this http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgur ... s%3Disch:1
  19. I dont have a clue haha Its only a scooter, nothing remotly interesting - a Sym Jet EuroX 100 - it seems like it is all in 1... However I am not that good with bikes, but want to learn, and any help you can give me will be greatly appresiated God I need to work on my computer spelling, I can only seem to spell when writing with paper and pen - wierd... weird hmmm. Defanatly ei, not ie.
  20. Yea, 2-strokes are great for learning basic maintanance because if it all goes wrong it should e cheap to replace (however I want to avoid that since I have no money at the moment - and I thought we where getting out of the recession?) Anyway, to rinse it, I guess I would ue water, then run it straight away to evaporate the water or what? because I have just cured the outside of surface rust and REALLY DO NOT want the inside rusting up aswell.. Oh, and thanks for the advise
  21. Hi guys (and girls), I have a 2-stroke lil scooter and want to know the best way of DIY carbon deposit cleaning in the exhaust without burning it all. I have heard that oven cleaner works, but I am not sure and would like some advise. Also, I have a REALLY n00by question which im pretty sure I know the answer too, but I would rather ask it because if I am wrong it will cost me. If I was to use oven cleaner, its flamable so would this harm the exhaust if it is not cleaned off, or would it simply burn away and theexhaust would handle the heat? As I said, nooby question, but I really dont want my bike going up in flames since I am not covered for fire on insurance. Thanks in advance guys n girls.
