  1. You'll Never Walk Alone - 40000 people every week at Anfield! (oh, and Jerry and the Pacemakers sung it once too)
  2. Just to add my two pence in.. You won't be allowed to ride on a motorway on a 125 with L plates (which you will have to have if you only do your CBT) its illegal.
  3. I would guess that by having two lines coming directly off the master cylinder, rather than one, you can force more fluid down the lines more quickly, thus giving a sharper feel to the lever. Probably worth noting though, that if the caliper pistons are sticky, or the pads are el-cheepo ones then any amount of money spent on brake lines won't really help much.
  4. It amazes me the amount of people on here that never get to go to the test centre and practice the course before doing the test. I had a couple of sessions at the centre and must have done the course at least half a dozen times before my actual test day! I thought it was pretty standard for every training school to do the same thing. Maybe it should be...
  5. I think the question the OP was asking is, is a racing brake line set-up much better than direct replacement braided hoses? I think everyone agrees that braided lines are better than original rubber ones, but is it better to go for a racing set up, or direct replacement? Assuming that you won't be on a track, racing?
  6. Ghost Love Score - Nightwish
  7. As boothy said, you could probably get them cheaper online but you're paying for genuine Kawasaki parts from a dealer so they are likely to be more expensive. That and the dealer would be under obligation to fit genuine parts as part of their franchise agreement.
  8. Bugger! I just booked my bike in for an MOT at C&A at 2.00pm. I guess i'll see you there as you're all leaving though, have fun!
  9. How old are you? If you're over 22 I wouldn't bother with the restricted licence and just go for the full fat version. There's nothing wrong with you then getting a 400 if that's what you fancy but at least it will give you the option of getting something bigger when you want to.
  10. Train of Consequences - Megadeth
  11. Yep sounds like something trapped between the pad and disc, could have been picked up by you on the way home though.. There will be loads of crap on the roads now. I would assume that they would have taken the bike on a quick road test to bed the brakes in and check that they are all working as they should..
  12. I think £198 would be a better deal Naah, £197 final offer.. As mentioned, what make are they? Leather? Textile?
  13. Son Song - Soulfly
  14. fade to black - metallica
  15. I wear thermal base layers bought from an outdoor/hiking shop which do the trick, and usually cheaper than buying biker specific clothing but when its really cold I wear water/windproof textiles. Keeping the wind out is key. I forget the exact figures but 5 degrees @ 60mph = windchill factor of bloody freezing!! You can find windproof fleeces from the same shops that you may be able to fit under your jacket.
  16. I actually like driving too, I am a terrible passenger! Its a wonder that no-one has thrown me out of their car in the middle of a dual carriageway
  17. Sold my car two years ago. 1. because I didn't use it and 2, I wanted to do lessons and get a bike and I haven't looked back. Started thinking about getting another car, maybe just for winter but I can't justify the cost. Even if I buy a little shit box of a car its going to cost more to tax and insure it for 6 months than it does for the bike for a whole year.
  18. I always move to the inside of the lane when big trucks come in the opposite direction. I have done since I was nearly blown off the bike on one of my lessons after a truck went the other way just as I was closing the visor on my helmet

    bike smoking

that actually made me laugh out loud
  20. tell the store you got them from that the contract you have is with them and not the manufacturer (have you got a receipt btw?) and that they haven't been sold fit for purpose. try ringing spada directly and see what they say. if you've only had them a week then it sounds like pretty poor customer service to me. i would also imagine that someone working in a motorcycle shop would know what a pair of boots look like if they've been in an accident, sounds to me like they are trying to fob you off. i would expect them to question why they have fallen apart if they were 6 months old, but not a week!

mine does the same. its even better after an oil change when oil has gone onto the exhaust. mmmm the smell of burnt oil
  22. Bugger! I've got a family do on that weekend Wish I could go though, i'd like to do a trackday but want to do a novice one first so I don't feel intimidated by people on litre sportsbikes
