  1. Hey all. So my fuel tank keeps letting out a little whine as if the pressure has built up. Yesterday had the tank up and check the drain and breather pipe which are fine and not getting caught. My old bike never did it, nor does my wifes. i cant seem to figure out how pressure is still building up.
  2. from our now useless drift 4k. battery is fine. signs of use, mainly to get it off as they sit tight £20 posted.

  4. defo a new battery, I get mine from ebay Tayna batteries/
  5. didnt it leak? our last bikes were 2003 and 2006. This is a 2011 and my 2014 has a different back caliper but Ive not looked into that as its working perfect lol
  6. Yeah i mentioned the plate but the photo is misleading really, just wanted to show where they sit, usually they sit all in the caliper and can move better. did add a very slight bit of grease this time
  7. Yeah I had new rubbers and greased inside well. The photo above is not mine and just to show the ledge for the pads. its off ebay. (i should have said) Will try the test though, may treat her to new hoses
  8. That makes alot of sense. the bike she got is lovely but has not been well maintained in general. Fluid was a little high too which certainly wont help.. rookie error
  9. this stays on for caliper clean or if the wheel stays on. the lip at the back towards the gromit is where they sit, but a steel shiny plate sits there. a mate asked if too much fluid in the res, id not considererd that at all
  10. yeah Il grab one today. I do suspect the way the top of the pads sit on a housing not attached to the caliper is the issue, its a metal plate that sits on aluminium cast. have cleaned it but it seems like a weird design
  11. Hi yeah, i think it would leak like mad if not anyway or just not sit right.
  12. Hey all. So I gave the wifes bikes rear brake a service as it looked manky as hell. New seals, pads and fluid, cleaned piston. and after maybe 200 mile it wants to bind on more than it should These are a weird fitment as sit on a ledge as such not giving great movement. Cleaned the pin again today and gave it once over, but What else could I be missing here.? it does live outside so the wash it gets when we get home may not have helped. I have to admit to not drying off the brakes as we were in a rush last time losing light. If that could be a cause. Thinking im keeping on top of things then feel a but useless..
  13. I swap the insoles for memory foam often. but like the idea of aerosol dettol
  14. So, I got one of those mini blow torch for kitchens, 1300 degress c max.. did try a hammer impact screw driver thing but the hole i cut was too big and not that straight, so knocked it round with big screwdriver and hammer. at one point thought it might not budge but then did., all new stainless bolts in and a happy Mrs.
  15. Great thankyou
  16. Also. I never get notifications if someone comments.?
  17. They are good, but mine is a button allen head, you cant get anything around.. ideal for other bolts
  18. Watch the TT race, there is one rider there who is short than you, Lee Johnson
  19. Cheers, small blowtorch on the way, lets hope its gonna play nice
  20. I was aiming to get the wheel off earlier, spent an hour getting a very stiff abs sensor out, to realise I didnt have a 14mm Allen head. My old bandit took a 12.. went a nice shade of red. It will be much easier with the wheel on a bench im sure
  21. I have seen a video with the cutting part but he didnt finish the demo, but I may try the manual impact screwdriver. @onesea its a button allen head on front disc, no way to get anything on it, in it maybe. @Ian Frog Ive been trying to find an old starbit but ones Ive got are too small. @goat that might be a bit tight to the disc if you mean shaping the dome into a square? but if im really careful it might just be an option.. cheers all, last thing I want to do is drill etc so will look at the options. I have extractor bits but they need to go deeper and the risk of a snap on that is high
  22. Hey all. My wife bought a shiny set of new bolts for her brake discs as im sick of taking the rust off and no acf50 didnt do much So as usual 4 came out fine and 1 is well stuck and rounding out. The videos Ive seen talk about cutting a line for a screwdriver but ive not seen it actually work. Any little tips Ive missed? its a 6mm head and I cant seem to force a 7mm in. (tried to tap round with hammer and screwdriver, not budging but driver cutting in. ) cheers
  23. it holds its charge for days.
  24. Does seem harsh, but are you used to the bike? and is it an older bike? Things like catching horn and not knowing the gear are a sign of not being on a bike for long.. also could have just been nerves as its one hell of an experience. good luck next time
