  1. as long as you have now drained the 2 strroke oil out of the gearbox and filled it up with the correct 10/40 oil it wil be ok but i would use it for a week or so and then drain and change it again that way any 2 stroke oil left will be flushed out.your bike runs a wet clutch
  2. remove the top of the carb and then twist throttle see if the slide is moving up and down as you hold top of the carb it might be that the cable has seized up and not allowing the slide right down into the carb when assembled
  3. has the bike got any kind of alarm or immobiliser on it could be that draining the battery if not installed correctly
  4. i wouldnt say you need a new carb how long can you ride for before it cuts out on you
  5. yes will be ok to ride might be worth you getting new cable as a spare just in case it does break
  6. have you pulled the cable and made a tight turn in it somewhere that would make it go very tight apart from that if you havent touched anything else thats about all it can be

  10. is the kick start at the top when making the noise or is it going down as only farm bike use bungy strap to hold kickstart up and i would remove tank to do the welding and also the battery
  11. not had cg carb apart for years can you put pic up of the bit u mean??
  12. soun ds like you need to remove the carb and clean the jets out inside the float chamber when refitting the slide into the top of the carb make sure you fit it the right way round there is a groove in the slide and if you look into top of carb you will see a small pin sticking out the groove in the slide has to meet that or it will hold throttle fully open
  13. it can do due to running weaaker but very often you will hardly notice
  14. removing the baffle will make the engine run slightly weaker on the fuel mixture but shouldnt do any lasting damage
  15. are you sure the barrels are compatable as in stroke etc and i thought the barrels since 82 were nickaseal?
  16. chances are its the battery not taking the charge like it should due to its age but test input first 12 volts on tickover 13 to 14 volts at 3000rpm
  17. i take you mean the mixture screw on the outside of each carb and not the one up in the float bowl basic set up for mixture screw is normally 1 3/4 to 2 turns out the adjust as needs be from there sounds like the bike would also benefit from having the carbs balanced using correct vaccuum gauges by a dealer
  18. im already out and about this weekend if all goes to plan but should be down marina tuesday
  19. need to check bits while its hot then is there still a spark,is fuel still getting through to carb, and other thing it could be the coil breaking down once its hot and then working again once cooled down
  20. another trick is to use hand soap on the 1200 wet and dry as you are smoothing down the top coats
  21. are you sure its not heat seizing does engine still turn over when it wont start if not then it has a major problem
  22. it is normally just push fit then the 2 bolts it will have a rubber o ring on it just keep at it and it will come out if you can get a bar/screwdriver down around where it goes into the engine you might be able to put pressure on it there so as u wiggle it then it might just pop out
  23. do we know what time we meeting up at yet for the ride up ???
