you say you charged battery do you get any neutral and oil lighht show when you turn ign on if not connect battery charger up to bike again and see if you get lights then battery migght of died over the winter wll show as charged on charger but not hold it one dssconnected
  9. take the casing off and see if there is any sign of damage to the belt and check where belt runs for free play as there are rubber rollers in there that wear and it could be that but could be almost anything down in that area get it running put it on the centre stand and have a listen around
  10. it could be the kick start quadrant the bit the kick start connects to with the teeth on it or it could be the speed variator and the rollers that the belt runs on
  11. always good to hear of a good ending and helpfull dealer
  12. dont forget to try the lock with bars on full right and left lock as it will only go one way it lines up with a slot in the yoke stem
  13. if the key goes in and you can turn it you need the steering on full turn then turn key push in and then turn key back to upright position the unit should stay set into the frame
  14. agree that its all pointing at the battery being on its way out
  15. was just after 8 when i got there parked on the side of road into where cars go through gate as main car parks were full
  16. might drag myself down tonight weather permitting where does everyone meet up there last time i was there on my own didnt knwo if anyone else there or not
  17. if the pistons are binding that bad you will have hell of a job geting them out of the caliper but a dealer will charge you a fortune there is another forum post about someone doing his own brakes and the dealer was going to charge him way over the top if you think you can do it yourself much better to do so
  18. the same battery will fit several different bikes hence why they are listed like that
  19. hope you have made sure with them that this is at no cost to you for new part and the labour to replace it
  20. you can check out the wheel from the older xl range as they were 21 inch
  21. it is often small hole in cap itself brethes through key lock sometimes and yes when u open tank u get the sucking sound if its blocked next time you get the problem stop and open fuel cap bike should then be fine you just need to find air hole check around the seals on cap
  22. as silly as it sounds make sure the breather around the fuel cap is clear as if there isnt enough air getting into the tank it will give problems like this and while running rough the air balance returns so will run ok for a while again
