  1. easy way is remove spark plug and both the inlet and exhaust tappet plugs use long piece of wire or thin screwdriver down plug hole turn engine over slowly watching the inlet valve open then close and then next time the piston returns to the top check the tappets of that cylinder and do the same right across all 4 cylinders as the only time the gap would be correct is on the compression stroke with both valves fully closed at tdc

  2. if anyone got a cheap generator laying around they want to get rid of im looking for one just to run some lights in my shed while im out there doing bits on the bike doesnt have to be pretty or high powered havent got lots to spend, also a compressor once again its only for tyres on the bike (and car) so can be as small as 24 litre tank on it as im not wanting to run air tools or spray with it

  3. if it hasnt been parked up for long its unusual for the clutch to stick up have you trried leaving the engine off put the bike into gear pull clutch lever in and rock the bike to see if it frees off or even let the bike warm up so the oil is warming up and then see what happens

  4. easy answer to that one.......................................no

its fairly easy to hold bike upright and see in viewing window anyway if you are not sure about doing it on your own get someone to hold the bike upright while you look at the oil level

  5. he can get copies of the invoices he needs in a phone call to the accountant so back with him in 4 days in the post and with you within 7 days so i would be telling him he has got 7 days as he has had since april 7 days is more than fair and then you go to trading standards cab and everyone else dont let him keep putting you off gayle as others have said he is just hoping you will go away so get tough with him

  6. i would give him the option of providing copy invoices as he must have them as he has sent some out originally and let him know that he has 7 days in which to supply them or you will have to look at taking steps to report him as the fact he has replied to you in the past proves he has done the work or was meant to of done the work then if he fails to respond go to hmrc trading standards and whoever else you can report him to in scotland and dont forget to inform him that you will after the seven days be making a public post about it if needs be

  7. you need to try and find out if cdi part number is the same for both years if its not chances are its all set up different........forget that both part numbers seem to be the same so its back to cam timing or ign pick up timing point
