"I'm not racist," I said to my mate, "but I prefer my sandwiches cut diagonally." "...but that's not racist," he said. "Exactly," I replied. "I said I wasn't racist."

I've got to replace my headstock bearings as they're getting a bit notchy. I have always used ball race bearings before but someone has recommended that i try tapered bearings as they're easier to fit and last longer. I've never used tapered bearings before so is there any benefit to them fitting or handling wise?

Recent news states that North Korea have expressed the intention to invade Japan. I'd like to take this opportunity to be the first one to wish them luck with the storming of Takeshi's Castle.

The front brake light switch on my gsxr 600 k4 has given up the ghost and I remember reading somewhere about hydraulic switches as a replacement. Is there any advantage of these over electrical ones (I assume there's less to go wrong with a hydraulic switch)? I've had a look at a couple of sites - wemoto and demon tweeks among others - but can't seem to find anything, can anyone point me in the right direction for places to get a double banjo bolt with built in switch? Thanks

What's the best stuff to use to lubricate a clutch cable and the best way to do it? I vaguely remember reading somewhere that fork oil was the best stuff to use but I'm not sure if I'm recalling that correctly. Thanks

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/H7-6000K-HID-XENON-CONVERSION-KIT-HONDA-CBR1100XX-BLACKBIRD-CBR1000RR-FIREBLADE-/320878683404?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item4ab5dc250c Retrofitted this to my gixxer on the dipped beam, despite it saying they're for the blackbird. Brilliant mod, I don;t need the main beam anymore! All it's got is a replacement bulb and a balast box about the size of a packet of cigarettes, it's got quite a bit of wire as well so you're unlikely to find the bulb won't reach the headlight once you've found somewhere to store the balast box.

Same. Before i did it i looked at the discs and they weren't sitting straight and i thought they were warped. A friend recommended i try turning the rivets and bingo! no more vibrations under braking

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll99/mastodon_1/url1.jpg Not sure i explained it properly but these bits. Make sure you use washers though coz it takes bloody ages to fish the nut out of the rivets if you forget

Have you got floating brake discs? I had a similar problem when i changed my pads which turned out to be partly down to a sticking piston (the previous owner had evidently had problems and rather than overhaul the calipers he just took the dust seals out!) and partly down to the rivets holding the discs to the rotors being gummed up with crap and stopping them floating. If you can get a bolt on the inside of the rivet (if it's a hollow rivet) tighten a nut on to it and give it a few turns and watch the crap come pouring out of it.

I'm a dumbass, discovered it was because the footpeg was over tightened. Thanks anyway.

On checking my lights all work today i noticed that my rear brake pedal seems to be sticking at the top of it's movement so the brake light is staying on even though no brakes are applied. The movement of the pedal other than that is fine it's just that i need to physically lift the pedal the last 1mm or so to get the pedal to sit how it should and so the brake light turns off. I've tried cleaning the springs in case any gunk on them was the cause but that's made no difference at all and after this i'm at a loss to think what the cause may be. If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated Thanks

Heres a joke for all the mind readers out there.

A lady approached me in the street and proceeded to tell me a joke. It had all the ingredients of a good joke. Sexual abuse, physical abuse, deprivation, humiliation, pain and suffering, but I didn't quite understand the punchline. Something about a donation?

He was in ecstasy, with a smile on his face, As his girlfriend moved forwards then backwards..... forwards then backwards..... back and forth.. back and forth.. In and out.. in and out.. Her heart was pounding faster, her face was getting flushed & she started to grunt and groan. Then she let out one almighty scream!!! "I can't park this f***ing car! You do it!"

Murphy and Mary decide to try a 69. Murphy's never tried it so Mary says she'll show him. She tells him to lie on the floor and squats over him. As she lowers herself onto his face she farts. Apologizing, she tries again but farts again. Murphy jumps up and storms out yelling, "You can f**k right off if you think i'm hanging around for another 67 of them."

Leather and textile repairs.
Ben_E replied to Ben_E's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Thanks guys -
I had quite a big off on the m25 on sunday and although i'm ok (and very very lucky to have walked away from it relatively unscathed) my leather trousers and textile jacket are in need of a bit of attention. My jacket's generally ok apart from a bit of light scuffing on the right arm and back but sliding along the tarmac has worn through the material on the left elbow through to the armour and broken some of the stitching in the same place. The leather trousers have some light scuffing to the leather generally (the knee sliders seem to have taken the brunt of the tarmacs fury), but it has evidently worn through quite deep in one particular place and again, the stitching has broken in a couple of places where it's obviously been in contact with the road. Can anyone recommend a good leather/textile repairers or am i best off just chucking them away and investing in a new set. I'd rather not have to as they weren't exactly cheap but the accident has reinforced the importance of wearing the right equipment and the need for them to be in the best possible condition, and i'm really not keen on the idea of riding around in gear (when i get the bike back) with broken stitching. Thanks Ben

As per the title. Did it with Hertfordshire police last weekend and have to say i really enjoyed it! After getting over the initial nerves of being followed by plod it was actually quite funny watching other drivers suddenly driving properly when we were around. And it was a very nice feeling when he thanked me for being the first person to ride above 40 all day He had some advice for me, road positioning on left hand corners mostly, and the occassional missed lifesaver but all in all he was very positive about my riding which bearing in mind i only passed my test in january i was well pleased with. And to top it all off for the cost of an hour and a half of my time and 40 miles worth of petrol i get a £20 refund on my insurance Well worth doing if you get the chance!
