  9. Am in to my cars and wondered if the process for the farings is the same? So... rinse, wash with shampoo, dry, wax, etc etc Main difference being using ACF - 50 on exposed metal? Can you put this on farings? Stu
  10. Thanks I have done 2 cbts already and I had my own bike for a few months a little yamaha rxs 100. This is my third cbt. The only problem is the cost of the mod 1 is about £150 for me as I have to go to the mainland. I just see bikers and I just drool over there bikes. I wish I had done this before. Cost... yeah...Well expensive! Ended up costing me 950 to pass + 900 for my gear...well worth it!!! Stu
  11. Good stuff. Took me 4 months from start to finish doing a 6 session DAS course. Is it your first time riding? Stu

Do you use it? Is it good? Do you just spray it on exposed metal? Stu
  15. Talked to my instructor about this. Upshot was that if you know the roads you are more likely to switch off or do something you do in your car which is a bad habit and wrong. Riding in a new area keeps you alert and on your toes. Did mine in a new area and passed. Just takes time and a bit of luck. Stu
  16. Cheers for the feedback. Did mine yesterday and passed :0) It is not a bad area at all. I can't imagine many areas being much easier unless you are in the sticks. I had my test at 08:15 which hit rush hour but it was not mental. I was advised that i could filter but chose not to as didn't want to take risks if i didn't have to. There are some road works, one way streets, dual carrige ways, quite large round abouts, well build up areas etc so a good place to make sure you can ride in a fairly busy town environment. I would definately not advise anyone to take a test elsewhere based on my experiance. Stu
  17. Ah cool I go Brunel uni, couldnt find a close enough bike school though so doing in home town instead. There is a popular school in Northolt. There must be some local to Uxbridge as they test there and recently I have seen quite a few folks learnign in and around Uxbridge. I have now passed and am getting my bike this weekend so will keep an eye out on any SE meets :0) Stu
  18. This was a strange one for me. I passed first time but was VERY suprised i did. I had the worst ride i had in a long time. I stalled the bike twice, tried to go the wrong way after given instruction by the examiner, and reacted late to road works. My confidence was shot after 10 minutes into the test. I think the key was i relaxed after the initial issues, always did my observations and made it look like I was a confident rider (which i am!). At one point while wating in a queue the instructor adised me 'you are allowed to filter during your test'. Needless to say i didn't! Glad i didn't as well as there was a motorbike filtering coming the oposite dirrection as i poked my head around the side of the truck infront of me. I am (in my opinion) more than capable of passing and thankfully my examiner agreed. It is the best feeling ever! Felt bad for the lad i was with as it was his second attempt and he failed again. THat is £690 so far on Mod 2 tests!! Stu
  19. Mod 1 is a fantastic money making scheme! Soooo many people take multiple attempts to pass. 1st attempt - Forgot theroy pass, so that was that! 2nd attempt - Got nervous and put a foot down on figure of eight. 3rd attempt - Pass!!! One minor. Once i got passed the slalom and figure of eight i was fine. I think the hardest thing is overcoming the nerves. Stu
  20. Cheeers folks...well chufffed.bring on the meets and ride outs stu
  21. PASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSED!!!!! Absolutely over the moon!!! It was the worst ride i have had in ages, fumbling for gears, stalled the bike... Absolutely positive i had failed. When he told me I could not believe it!!! I have the Ninja coming this week and the 3 days in between the bank holidays off, so as long as the weather is good i will be out a LOT! Look forward to meeting som of you at meets Stu
  22. Reason I bought the shark was for the built in visor. Great idea. Like that lid as well. Stu
