  1. Hornsea ... average age 75 .. = 100% masks

Motorcyclists .... chances of dying in an RTA 800x higher than dying of C-19 ...

You feel safe wearing a mask in the supermarket ?......

Wear one over your helmet ... you'll be indestructible ... :D

If you don't like my statistics, I can make up some others ... :D

  2. I didn't take my car licence until my very late 30's so the bike was my only means of transport .... I only did it because my employer paid for it ... :D

As for winter riding ... i picked up my Himma in late November from a dealer in Macclesfield ... I came over the Cat and Fiddle to Buxton in deep snow ... Just me ... the snow gates where closed ....

It's surreal when the only tyre tracks are behind you ...... yours .....

  3. I used to commute from Sheffield to Dereham in Norfolk 3 days a week .... 260 miles a day .... all year round ..on a variety of motorbikes, primarily a Kawasaki EN 500 and MZ 300's ...

I normally set off about 0430hrs...

In winter i would rock up at the Mess about 0700 - 0730hrs in the morning... often frozen to the bike seat ... I would stop outside the main door, a member of the Household staff would come out with a mug of coffee, helmet off, drink half of the coffee and pour the rest of the hot liquid over my crotch to free myself from the frozen seat ...

    Stupid ... i know ...

But many of the mornings and evenings where a pleasure to ride ....

And they paid me £0.48p / mile

    And I only had to work 3 days a week ..... :D

But it gave me an insight into riding in low tempratures ... and riding in poor weather .. which has stayed with me ...

  4. My experience in over 40 years of all round the year riding is .....

Very, very few ride all year round ....

Riding along the M1, M5, M4 etc in the pouring rain / snow in Dec, Jan, Feb and all other points, I am invariably alone ....

Come March / April they all appear again on the bikes that have been in the garage all winter, waving and nodding ......

WHERE WHERE YOU IN FEBRUARY !!!

Comes to mind ...... and breath .... :)

  5. Top class kit .... throughly recommended ... life long two and 4 stroke high performance rider .. and lots of MZ's ... :D https://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=73644#p1151978

Himma is a breath of fresh air , reliable and comfortable ... although at 6' 2" i could do with a higher seat so i strap a swimming float on ... works fine ...

Designed for owner servicing ... Bought mine with 400 miles on the clock for less than £4K ....

Why would anyone be sniggering ??????

And today ... with the bar guards and screen refitted for the winter .....

  6. Thought I'd escape for a few hours this morning, after school run, on the bike.

Weather pointed to riding north so i decided to visit one of my old RAF bases, Church Fenton then swing round to Squires cafe before tootling home ....

    BUT .......

RAF Church Fenton is no more ..... Leeds East Airport ..... never heard that one before ...

  7. We pulled up at the lights in town yesterday .... Honda CG 125 lookalike sat next to us ..... the rust was bursting through the mudguards, the spokes where rusted .... the paint was flaking off the frame ..

    How old ? ...... 2018 !

We ANPR'd it as the condition did not reflect the age ... yep.. 2018 and already dissolving .....

  8. Ah .. the weekend ..... 16 year old on xbox, in between setting fire to things in the back garden and attacking the pile of tree trunks with the chainsaw, building up the wood pile ... girls (10 and 9 ) fighting to get out to their friends .... go little ones go .... 2 year old cuddled up on sofa with Jules ( nana ) ...watching pepper pig ...

We're carer's .. we have this lot permanently ... and love the lot of them ...

  9. Fell asleep ... A14 ... rolled up embankment and fell off ... not injured .... bike undamaged ... rolled bike down to hard shoulder, removed helmet and laid on the grass embankment and slept for an hour until nice police woman woke me up .... she was panicking slightly .... :D

  10. Anyone fancy weekday ride outs ... the coast, bacon butties in the rain .... Himalayan Rider would enjoy some company ... Genuinely not a psyco ... lol

.. sometimes has mad engineering grandson tie wrapped to the pillion ... but mostly just me ... thank god for 6th form .....

  11. Put the screen back on..

Refitted the "Bark Busters" lever covers ..

    Changed the oil..

    Did the chain tension ..

Sprayed the entire thing in WD40 ...

    Winters coming ....

    How do I know ??

My wife dug out and washed my Helly Hansen fibrepile salopettes ..

    Winters coming ....

OH, That was this morning ... rode to Bristol this afternoon ...

  12. lol ..LOL ...

my high point was the YPVS TZ YAMAGAMA that was featured in Streetfighters Magazine .. With a sexy nurse astride it and alongside it...

Which is strange, as most of the nurses at our local hospital have their own gravity fields ... however ...

TZ 350 bottom end with a YPVS top end ... so no alternator

64 BHP ... pre mix fuel, total loss ignition with a separate battery for the lights ..

TZ bottom end, so bump start.

    GSXR forks and shock ..

This bike was my daily ride .. to work, Sheffield to Linton-on-Ouse ... once a month, a visit to my children in Hastings .... from Sheffield ..!!

    I really hadn't thought it through ...

I worked out that a Dettol bottle ... with it's side markings, was ideal for "oil per litre" measurement ....
