  1. Congrats - great feeling isn't it (I'm still smiling )
  2. Eh? Not heard that one - where's it from? And couldn't quite get the comment about sit the sheep on it's bum - was I talking sheep to you at Sue and Ian's? LMAO The Gladius is ready but not sure I am ....
  3. OMG NO way Sue!!!! We'll meet at Montford Bridge asap!
  4. Passed Mod 2 this morning couldn't wait to get those L-plates off!!
  5. What a shame, but at least you have been round the place and know what's expected for next time - it's huge isn't it! I'm sure you'll be fine
  6. As I'm short my Gladius has had to be lowered but it's still not quite as low as I'd like to feel 100% stable - has anyone tried biking boots that have built up soles/heels and do they help?
  7. Thanks - did you get another test booked?
  8. LOL see my other post, I certainly lowered the Gladius http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/view ... =3&t=38688
  9. Get those bottles in Sue - passed PHEW!! Only one minor of 49kph through the avoidance. Had to wait three quarters of an hour sitting in the test centre which was the worst thing LOL! The examiner was great though, turns out we both passed our driving tests in Barnet in 1976. Going to get the Gladius restricted this afternoon!
  10. You don't need to bring the V5, just your CBT and Theory certificate, and both parts of your license http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Le ... DG_4022541 If you click on 'Rules for mopeds and motorcycles' it explains about the bike you are riding
  11. Oh no, what a bugger , the winds have been horrendous here too (still are) - I was going to practise at home but it was too windy for that! I'm hoping it will die down soon, fingers crossed you won't have to wait too long. I'm also keeping fingers crossed they won't cancel mine too!
  12. How did it go? I had 3.5 hours training today in gale force winds, I reckon if I can do without falling over then I must be ok if it's less windy . Lucky for me it didn't rain as well!
  13. Well I survived 3.5 hours of it, despite it being gale force winds - it was awful! It was so bad I coud hardly get above 35-40mph riding to the lessons, and during the training I was nearly knocked sideways by some of the gusts - typically just as I was doing the slalom and figures of eight around the cones . Apart from knocking a cone once when I was doing the swerve - this due to not being able to find third gear and losing concentration - the instructor said if I rode like that on Wed I will pass. We had to get up to speed from standstill - it was quite hard given the space we had, so hopefully it will be easier on the test as you are already moving. I managed mostly 49/50kph which is a pass (got 53kph but clipped the cone!). My worst thing is the u-turn, mainly because I tend to use the front brake and need to practise using the back brake for control, a bit wobbly but I can practise that at home. I just need to stop myself doing stupid things which I am apt to do under test conditions and pray for no wind or rain!
  14. Nothing exciting but proof of Sue and I having a rideout together . They were parked at Montford Bridge picnic site, Sue is trying to hide behind her bike http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y184/greydales/Miscellaneous/P104014102.jpg and the other side (Sue was jealous of my side stand so I put it on the centre stand to make her feel better ) http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y184/greydales/Miscellaneous/P104014201.jpg
  15. Good luck I've got mine Wed, I'm also training on Sunday!
  16. Huge congrats, well done!!
  17. Best of luck I've got mine booked for later this month!
  18. Yamaha and Suzuki - but love the Triumphs
  19. Also don't forget to cancel your indicators after turning! can fail on this ..
  20. Well done and best of luck for Mod 2!
  21. Got any recommendations for decent sized soft panniers (pref weatherproof)?
  22. What Whitsun meet??
  23. Of course! Let me know when you are free! on a windless day of course .. I hope so, if I don't drop the bloody thing LOL!! Yes I recall the name Llangynog we did go through it. Am used to low flying aircraft we live on the flight path of RAF Shawbury, we get low flying choppers over us all the time! . The jets tend to fly over parts of Wales
  24. No its best to just let it out as you ride along Nice pics! Hahaha!! There was enough wind without added extra! Sue it was rather hairy in places, especially coming down some of the mountain roads - I did wonder whether the YBR would be able to stay upright You HAVE to come out with me some time, I know some fab places (with good tearooms/cafes )
