  2. On this weekend 16/17 Oct Stafford Bike Show
  3. I'm not doing a DAS but I have days when I ride really well and others when I am total cr*p!! I've done nearly 1500 miles since July so should be getting better by now, but sometimes I still do the most stupid things . I'm sure you'll be ok, think positive!
  4. Don't be disheartened it can happen to any of us, just put in for another one, you'll learn from your mistakes! I've yet to go through it!! Best of luck for next time

    Back tyre puncture

    Yes mine are tubeless
  6. I've had my YBR125 since July (from new) and have done about 1450 miles - I went to take it out today and the back tyre felt a bit soft. Went to put some air in and it was reading nearly flat! The last time I used it was sometime last week (can't remember the exact day) so not sure if it's a slow puncture or not - will check again tomorrow. If it is, are slow punctures repairable or should I have it replaced?

    NEC bike show

Hope to be but dunno what day
  8. I've that one for mine
  9. Have you got any of the driving test DVDs? They have all the questions you are likely to be asked, so if you go through them enough times you should start to learn them all. If you practise the Hazard Perception videos then you soon get the hang of what's required of you. Good luck!
  10. I understand totally, some of my pets have been as important as human family members and when you lose them it's like losing a person - been there, several times
  11. I went into a motorbike shop which had a very extensive range of ladies' wear. But every bit of clothing I tried on fitted me differently! Even two different style jackets by the same maker in the same size were a different fit. My usual clothing (non-motorbike) size is 12, but no way could I get some of the 12s on. I know that the clothing has to be snug but I want to be able to get some layers on underneath it! I just tried on loads and got the ones that were the most comfortable. I ended up with an IXS jacket size M, matching trousers size XL!, leather trousers size 14. I later went into a leather goods store and randomly found a biking jacket (size S ) which fit me perfectly (it actually had room round the hips) and I got the guy to knock off £90. Yes I did try on an RST jacket which I loved but could hardly do it up round the hips - the size that was comfortable round the hips was massive round the shoulders
  12. Great pics must have been good to be there, lucky with the weather too!
  13. I wish I could have gone!

Hope everyone has a great time, I was hoping to go but can't. Take some pics!
  15. Congrats it's one step nearer!
  16. Congrats hope I can put up a thread like this one day!
  17. £300 for 4 lessons ??
  18. Yes I'd definitely get a bike to build up your skills and handling, as you may have to start from scratch again if you left it till next year. I passed my CBT mid-July and got myself a YBR125, I love it and it's perfect for me (I'm female and quite small at 5'3"). However have seen some quite tall guys on them and they don't look out of place. I've done nearly 1400 miles on it but I still have to perfect some things! There's nothing like getting out there and riding though, I have to ride on my own so forced myself to get out and tackle all the things I was nervous about (roundabouts, hill starts, busy towns, dual carriageways etc) - practise makes perfect is true (although my riding is still far from perfect ). However I am now confident enough to ride in most situations
  19. My trailer ran away with me and dented the back of my car F*CK IT!!!
  20. It's been a beautiful day today perfect for riding and I've not been able to for five days F*CK IT!!!
  21. I'm only a learner but I believe you've got to do the theory before you can do any of the practical tests. I'd say it would give you better chances of passing if you were to have some lessons before doing a Mod1 (I plan to do this), so you know exactly what is required of you, even if you think you are an accomplished rider. The Mod1 test is taken at certain approved sites (I believe) and as for the Mod 2 I have no idea, best to get this info off the DSA.
  22. Fair weather, because I feel the cold and don't like getting wet . I suppose it's linked to age because when I was younger I'd go out in any weather (I'm talking horse riding here not bike riding) - snow, ice, rain, gales - but can't see that these would be particularly pleasant on a motorbike and they definitely aren't on a horse any more!
  23. Apparently you can't get the YBR sports screen any more, it's discontinued because I wanted one. They do a good selection of screens here Bike screens I got the Speed Screen as anything bigger looked a bit silly on a YBR. They are very good quality screens and do keep the wind of your body but tend to deflect it onto your head! Here's a pic of my bike with the screen fitted: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs112.snc4/35973_416001483541_763563541_4774331_6992394_n.jpg
