  1. Thanks, it is going to be more or less everyday, looking at top boxes too. The idea behind the side panniers was to split my gym and work stuff up. But thanks for the advice Appreciated. Hate fuffling about!
  2. Hey, Im looking for side panniers for my FZS600. I am looking for soft ones. The reason being I need somthing where i Can take my gym stuff in one and work stuff in the other. Is there anything where i can keep the panniers connected to the bag and it still be secure and waterproof? Or somthing which is easy to remove and put back on and im not fiddling about with my bike looking like im arguing with it? I have no experience in this area, looking to spend anywhere between 60-120 squid! Recomendations please! Cheers, Gareth
  3. sorry for later reply forgot to post on this. Yeh i used a small pliers to unscreen the part which then losens it all to pull it out, out it in the right place and screw it together. not sure what im going to do about the slightly cracked fairing now though. Its had repair before and had a few cracks when I bought but yeh! Just rode 200miles and last 3 miles was rain - typical
  4. What is described was exacly the problem. I thought the slight movement when riding it from start was meant ot be there but looking at the bike in the dry now i realised it seemed like the fram holding everything to the forks etc one of the bolts was very lose. Glad I noticed it and got it fixed. Nothing moves at all now not even a small shake. Thanks Stu, and cheers to the rest of you. even though its just tightening a bolt i feel quite accomplished
  5. The clocks move a bit but the whole fairing seems to bounce up and down and rattle (bit more than before) Havnt fiddeled with anything but might of just gone over a bump and unlosened somthing will cehck tomorrow
  6. well im free next weekend if weather is good (and dont get called into work) Even if its just for a joe's icecream im game. Like I said im not a speed freak etc...and would like to go a nice pace
  7. Ok so the fairing on my FZS600 seems a little more wobbly the past few days. I've checked all the screws but where the mirrors are attatched too with speed dial etc..seems to jerk (wobble) back and forth when going over any kind of small dip in the road. It seems secure but is a tad annoying. Is it just because its got winder or have a missed a screw somewhere that needs tightening? As stated its more the dashboard/mirrors that make the whole fairing move up and down (not left to right) Cheers Gareth
  8. Used to play a holy pala, did Ulduar hard modes on release (well think we were 4th in the world) but yeh yogg surong etc... but yeh kind of stoped after playign 24/7 and got a bike good luck with ur rolls though
  9. Lived in Swansea all my life just finished uni. Work in Brynchoch and live in Clydach
  10. Played in the World Chess Championships twice (2004+2006) if I rember right! Represented Wales in Chess well over 50 times, possibly 100+ However rarely play anymore.
  11. nah, was on centre stand i was moving it to side stand (finished cleaning it) and it fell the wrong way Spent all daycleaning the back end which acts as a chain gaurd aswell, tempted to get rid of the back end fender though but will have to put a chain gaurd on somewhere. Either way took 2-3 hours to clean all the muck of the underneath of the bike and havnt even taken back wheel off yet EEK!
  12. wd40 might be good. I took the casinging off where the handles bars are allowing me acess to the indicato from the outside and inside. Problem is its a pop-in indicator and its popped all the way through and cant pop it back out. WD40 might work though I'll give it a try. Anyone else have suggestions will be brilliant as not 100% its the right screw
  13. Ok so was cleaning my new 1999 FZS600 and put it off the centre stand and it fell. It hit the ground and broke some fairing by the indicator (cracked) I am not to worried about that my main concern is the indicator got popped inwards. The electronics work but it is not in a stable place. How do i pop it back in? I cant seem to pull it back through the hole it poped out of and dont want to brake the fairing more. Also the screw on the inside part of the indicator is done insnley tight and I cant get the right angle. Suggetions on a postcard please
  14. I like them just not very confident. I learnt in Bristol and only just 5 minutes ago drove down to swansea. Going to be riding about abit But i'll let you know. Also GET A BIKE! and if you are being a pillion or going on a ride let me know. Would love to go to llagenith etc... or somewhere like that but not on my own.
  15. Ok so as you know I bought a Bike Yesturday and now I have a low budget. However, I want to start working on it (yes I know its winter but ill re-do touch ups when summer comes if need be). Theres a few scratches and marks on the tank and ive spent the last hour watching videos on how to repair scratches but anyone have any previous experience of this? As I am a complete novice I will ask this but parts of the engine I think were meant to be black have slowly scratched away (what is expected of a bike of 12 years) but should I be ok to just use black touch up paint on it? As I have not looked when buying touch up paint I am guessing engins - black plain touch up paint but the tank etc...will be slightly metallica - best to use a bike shop for this and give model? If its any help its a FZS600 but I WILL be posting up pictures of what I mean and what bugs me. On another note going to be removing the exsting tank protector thing (minds gone blank) that runs up the tank. I was thinking of getting a white one but not sure yet so suggestions please. Thanks! Gareth
  16. Just letting you know after getting my bike yesturday I will be riding about swansea so keep your eyes peeled - Black FZS600. Also if anyone is up for a meet/ride I know its winter but HEY! just write here/pm me. I will be working alot but a nice ride atleast once this winter with another bike or two would be brill. I am not the most confident, especially at small lane/slwo turnings or bendy bendy roads but someone to take me down would be good but I might slow you up.
  17. Just read through this. Glad you've given the people with little macnical knowledge (like me) some hope! Love the bike and hopefully see you on the road sometime

I need to obviouslt take gear etc..up but never ridden with a rucksack on (going to the girl's straight after) so is it much different ridiing with a rucksack? Or should I just try and avoid having anything on my back? The Bike is a fzs600 1999 found on the forums so thansk tmbf Cheers Gareth
  20. 5 minutes before my Mod 2 I couldn't get my liner back in. Good idea is to use the clutch/brake handle or pull them all the way out. I too had a problem with my hands smelling afterwards but soap and water and dont see why it metters cause no ones gonna smell it when im riding so... Good luck!
  21. Firstly - I hope this is in the right section. After having a not-so-confident CBT I moved schools from Bath to Bristol. The school was right next to fowlers and the train station so is in a nice location. On turning up for my Mod 1 training it was a bit daunting and at a casual pace we finally got in the van, bikes loaded and headed on upto an industrial park they hire. They let me do laps of this massive area and this was brilliant for my confidence. After failing Mod 1 numerous times I had 3 days Mod 1 training and 3 days Mod 2 Training. They accomidated my every need and personalised routes to what I was having trouble on. They were very nice guys and a good laugh and not only helped me pass the test but taught me to be a good rider. In all the cost was £780 which was not to bad after all resits etc... Would recomend them to anyone who is not so confident or through tests. Very good school and very high rating.
  22. cheers for your help guys got a few interviews, just need somthing to tie me over and so i can afford insurance and a few hundread off a bike wil keep you updated, just relieve im not the only one tbh
  23. good luck keith! Now i got to work out about a job and getting a bike
  24. After spending 5 attempts on Mod 1 I was hoping i would fly through mod 2. All those trips back and for from the tes centre, atleast I won't fail on the turning in and out right? Right! Well I was waiting and the examiner called me in and said "i took you for a mod1 didn't i?" and I said yeh anmd explained why he failed me for it, which somewhat made me relax abit and he seemed and was very relaxing and just chillid out. He set me up and explained the test and then asked me how i check and maintane the chain, show him to check the break lights and where would a pillion sit on my bike and what would I tell them. These were kind of spoon fed, I went blank and couldn't rember what you call foot pegs and was like "these things" he chuckled and just said "yeh they keep there foots on the peg at all times". So we drive and it was weird, there was no one complaining, huffing, annoyed or shouting on the radio. I relaxed and just got into it! He pulled me over twice, then again infront of a car. The 4th time he pulled me over infront of a car and i though "what did i do wrong?" He then asked me to go in to neutral and he would be with me in 5 minutes and he came over with a clip board diagram of a roundabout. I thought he was abut to say "this is why I failed you" but it was the independant ride, and a diagram/map of the rest of the journey (3 turnings) but about 5-8 minute ride I think it ended up being. I pulled away and did them fine, on a turning right I stoped to early before the turning but rectified it and didnt make a verygood lifesaver but i thought it might be passable (thank god it was). He then asked me to follow signs for bristol and then guided me back to the test centre. It was one of my favourate rides I have had. I passed, 3 minors for not doing life savers on right turns very well but I will rectify this when I am on the road, Alone Good luck to anyone reading this and keep going if you need motivation. If you have passed well done! Its not as easy as it sounds, took so much out of me
