Sorry for the noob question, but this involves just using a small drill bit and just drilling right into the screw in reverse (anti-clockwise) right? Was just looking at some screw removal bits for drills which may seem quite a good option too.

Ok so the screw for my brake fluid cap looks like it hasnt been moved in years. Its very rusted, I used wd4 and hasnt budged and the screw itself has no dents for the screw driver to go into (seized - i think its all). So basically, before i drill and try and dig at it, whats my best options? Ive seen irons and chisel, easy-screw removal kits. I have a replacment screws and a cap that goes over the plasitc part of the resevoir. So long as my plastic cap stays in one peice im not to worried about cosmetics. Cheers Gareth

Hello, been awhile since my last post but this is quite an obvious one. It has been covered a few times but I want to ask again. I want some guidence as far as what tools I should get and wheather i should buy package (Getting double in some tools) or not. So far I have: 1 big plastic box for all my brushes, tooth brushes, chain lube, wd40, clothes sponge etc... In this I also have: Duck tape Electric tape Stanly knife Filter chain remover Socket set (1/4 I belieeve) Set of spanners with wrench ends one side open ended the other (if thats the right way to describe them) as you can tell I have no tool box, What is written there is exacly what I have got. No tool box etc.. I live with parents and need decent storage, hint the plastic box. I dont want my new spanners to stand the test off time in a plastic box with chain lube. So I want to spend about £50-100 and buy some more tools which I will need for simple maintenance, and that will just make life easier. I was thinking of just getting a chest box and buying individual as I need. I am changing air filter and plugs soon (have plug socket) Any suggestions on tools I will/may need or anything in current market I may have missed. any deals? Thanks, Sorry for the long post, Gareth

This might seem a stupid question but I noticed the paint on my radiator cover is stripping off and seems to be peeling quite a lot now. With the fine weather coming I was thinking of taking the paint of the outside edge and the middle grill bit. I was then thinking of painting the middle bit of the grill a dark red colour and the edge Black (spray paint). Firstly is this possible? I thought this would be a good place to try spray paints as its not that visable but the slight red on the bike will cosmetically make it look a bit nicer (imo). I was thinking of using these: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165495 On there website there is not a red but im pretty sure there is. So is this a good idea? If so whats the best way to strip the pain? If someone could do small points on EVERYTHING you have to do (no matter how trivia) to do a good job that would be great. IM not sure on wheather i need to gdo a finish like gloss etc... Thanks in advance, Gareth

has this cost me alot?
dispersion replied to tryme's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Cbt was £120 - i then changed schools Mod 1 + 2 - £580 Extra days lesson - £120 Retakes - £40,£11 and a free one because i failed so much (cant rember the exact amounts) Total - £791 (think it might of been more aroun 850ish) but cant rember it all I still felt this was resanable, but if i had done CBT in same school would of saved myself £100 -
Picture added it still shows but you have to know its there in my opinoion. Gonna try get ride of it even more but arms killing

Thanks for the advice and I know I love and other people love seeing pics so here you go, even a novice like me can make there bike look slightly better. Took about 1-2 hours of rubbing and half a tube of the stuff! Also gonna get a pen or spray to cover chips, any ideas/help with that would be brill! Before: (sorry about my face) http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/morpium/IMG_0982.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/morpium/IMG_0981.jpg What I used: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/morpium/IMG_0983.jpg After: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/morpium/IMG_0984.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/morpium/IMG_0987.jpg Thanks, Gareth P.S Any tips on chips being covered/painted would help. Also theres some areas where someone has already used a pen or paint but slightly bumpy, the t-cut type stuff didn't smooth it out, wet sand paper job?

cheers mines quite obvious from a few meters away possibly if i can get it smooth that'd be a fine thing. Will sort this out tomorrow

Ok so i removed my tank pad but i looks like the outline is still there but when i get the outline off it scratches the pain off. It seems to me like someone has either repainted the tank with the old tank pad on it or is there an easier way of getting this stuff off? I have tried petrol, wd40 and a hair dryer. Thanks Gareth

bought this after reading review. All good except a great deal of bugees to apply, I am tempted just to use lower bungees but havn't tried yet as using all bungees seems abit excessive

Side Panniers
dispersion replied to dispersion's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Thanks, it is going to be more or less everyday, looking at top boxes too. The idea behind the side panniers was to split my gym and work stuff up. But thanks for the advice Appreciated. Hate fuffling about! -
Hey, Im looking for side panniers for my FZS600. I am looking for soft ones. The reason being I need somthing where i Can take my gym stuff in one and work stuff in the other. Is there anything where i can keep the panniers connected to the bag and it still be secure and waterproof? Or somthing which is easy to remove and put back on and im not fiddling about with my bike looking like im arguing with it? I have no experience in this area, looking to spend anywhere between 60-120 squid! Recomendations please! Cheers, Gareth

sorry for later reply forgot to post on this. Yeh i used a small pliers to unscreen the part which then losens it all to pull it out, out it in the right place and screw it together. not sure what im going to do about the slightly cracked fairing now though. Its had repair before and had a few cracks when I bought but yeh! Just rode 200miles and last 3 miles was rain - typical
-
What is described was exacly the problem. I thought the slight movement when riding it from start was meant ot be there but looking at the bike in the dry now i realised it seemed like the fram holding everything to the forks etc one of the bolts was very lose. Glad I noticed it and got it fixed. Nothing moves at all now not even a small shake. Thanks Stu, and cheers to the rest of you. even though its just tightening a bolt i feel quite accomplished
-
The clocks move a bit but the whole fairing seems to bounce up and down and rattle (bit more than before) Havnt fiddeled with anything but might of just gone over a bump and unlosened somthing will cehck tomorrow
-
well im free next weekend if weather is good (and dont get called into work) Even if its just for a joe's icecream im game. Like I said im not a speed freak etc...and would like to go a nice pace
-
Ok so the fairing on my FZS600 seems a little more wobbly the past few days. I've checked all the screws but where the mirrors are attatched too with speed dial etc..seems to jerk (wobble) back and forth when going over any kind of small dip in the road. It seems secure but is a tad annoying. Is it just because its got winder or have a missed a screw somewhere that needs tightening? As stated its more the dashboard/mirrors that make the whole fairing move up and down (not left to right) Cheers Gareth
