  1. bike now been off the road 5 weeks. Part came yesterday that should have got it to at least start. Just tested it and its reading exactly the same as my faulty one.
  2. depends on the individual really. Might take you more, might take you less! If you just pay-as-you-go (this is what I did), it doesn't really matter.
  3. practice ones on internet will probably be just as good Don't forget to try and get practice for the hazard perception as well!
  4. Buy one of the theory discs (can get them cheap as buttons on ebay) and practice practice practice!
  5. I don't have a preference either way. My helmet is a burnt orange caberg trip. I wanted a flip front, the caberg trip was very comfortable and scored well on the sharp tests. At the scottish bike show, I could pay £120 for a black or silver one, or £60 for a burnt orange one and I really like the orange colour, better than plain black or silver! The other one I looked at was the caberg V2R floral (because I liked the graphics), but they didn't have it in my size. Wasn't a flip front either. I saw a cool one at the bike show this year, might also have been a caberg, it was matt white with COWBOYS on it! AND the orange one goes well with my stick on tiger ears and tail http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y222/iiisecondcreep/Bikey/DSC00126Small.jpg
  6. Hope you feel better soon, bex x My f*ck it for today: For weeks now I have sit around doing little other than trying to do uni work. Just sitting, bored, looking out at the lovely weather. Today, as it was again nice I thought I'd walk to my mums to give her her mothers day card. Its only a ten minute walk. By the time we got there we were being pelted by HAILSTONES!!!!! Once back home, glorious sunshine again (if a bit on the windy side). F*CK IT! (although on the plus side, we did get a lift back in my mums bfs brand new lexus CT200h which was quite nice! )
  7. yes, actually (the qs part, not the roofing part!)
  8. What's it on ? And what are you hoping to do ? F**k it, my dinner isn't ready yet. The social and economic benefits of sustainable procurement in public sector construction projects.. What am I hoping to do? Get the next 5k words done rapidly! Hope dinner was worth the wait!
  9. We might be going to the Erskine one ...if we have bikes that actually work
  10. F*ck it!! I am sooooooo bored with this dissertation. 2 weeks to go, and I am half way there (5k words). I am rapidly losing what little interest I have left!! BLEURGH.
  11. Mine needs a new multi relay and there is a problem with the gears, hopefully chain tightening will solve this, but need the new relay first so it will actually start!, bfs has a leaky radiator, hopefully it can be welded, once we work out how to remove it :
  12. Another one! Carronvalley Motorcycle Club charity easter run in aid of CHAS. 24th April 10.30am, starting at the Falkirk Wheel. Around 400 bikes turned up last year, and more expected this year! We're away to Oban that weekend, but going to try and get home early on the sunday to at least see it (if the bikes are still off the road- should be an impressive sight!)
  13. Would tend to agree, if you learn the routes you might end up concentrating too hard on areas you expect to be tricky and miss out on key observations or unexpected hazards.
  14. Dont get me onto planners and planning departments. Feckin lot of em would be up against a wall come the revolution. Sorry MK, you`ll be the exception, you ride a bike Also just found out that EVERY councillor on the committee rejected or requested for the hearing to be postponed. NLC ignored them as well.
  15. check outside for the postie hiding behind a tree or summit, just waiting for you to go out lol
  16. North lanarkshire council are a f*cking joke. They spend almost a million pounds on some vile ridiculous neon green 'waves' by the side of the road, £250,000 on a massive hideous 'mermaid' sculpture and have now granted planning permission for a 18th century grade A listed building that is probably the towns ONLY remaining historic building to be turned into flats! Despite an objecting petition with almost 2000 signatures and countless planning objections!
  17. 63 is still a really good score for the hazard perception! Well done
  18. For clothes, Victor Devine, Heine Gericke, J&S in Hamilton are the main ones that spring to mind. For a bike I'd scour ebay, autotrader, gumtree, mcn classifieds.
  19. As above, they are nothing to worry about. The theory disc I had had them on. Things like minimum tyre depth, how to check fluid levels, how to check/use lights/horn, what to adjust when carrying a pillion etc. Although! I did get asked a question that wasn't on the disc, it was 'if you are carrying a pillion, which way should they face?' I honestly thought he was joking or it was a trick question.
  20. Thats not good, can imagine it would give you a cracking headache. Like Bex said, if you've not had it long it should wear in after a while :
  21. Test rode the new CBR600F, what a disappointment Its gorgeous, but totally 'meh' to ride. In my boyfriends words 'completely soulless'. Also rode the new VFR800, now that is a beast I could get used to!! Big torquey zoomey fun machine, came off it grinning from ear to ear!! The sales guy said the older ones are exactly the same bike to ride, so definitely going to look into the possibility of getting one in the future.
