  1. Finishing off the North West Hard days night Hotel Hawkstone Park Follies Hack Green Bunker The Winking Man
  2. Home, 12 hours in total. Loads of motorway filtering, so a car would have taken longer. Now in my pyjamas recovering and I still have a week off anyway.
  3. Still not home yet! Presently at Lancaster services on the M6.
  4. Its going to be weird meeting so many people who you know but have never met all at the same time.
  5. Completed the last four for the north west ending at the Winking man. Started the first Welsh tag at Leighton gate. I am sitting on my own at a campsite next to a pub. The owners are out for the night and I have the place to myself. O what to do with an empty in a pub!
  6. Like others say, dry bags (mine are from Aldi and Lomo) and lots of bungees. If the bag has nothing to run a bungee through it, like a strap, a spider bungee is more secure.
  7. I have never used that product, but if I needed leather spray I would buy it. There are 66 positive reviews (59 are 5 and 4 stars) by people who have.
  8. I test road one a while back. I was most impressed with creamy smooth power delivery, performance and how the screen protected me from wind blast. My local dealer has one to do them till next year. Madness.
  9. Some brilliant roads and views around there. The Beallach-na-ba to Applecross is a must. Torridan is a rival to Glen Coe and much, much quieter. The road round to Ullapool has long blasts, especially past Loch Maree and then tight twists and feels so remote. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Lochc ... 895418!3e0 There is a debit card 24 hour petrol station in Lochcarron village and I do not remember seeing another petrol station until Ullapool.
  10. I do not think I will have fancy dress, I am touring for 5 days prior to the meet and space is at a premium.
  11. So there is such a thing as a high heeled biker boot? I just googled "malicia"
  12. Numptyspence is spot on, there are lots of DIY pannier threads on the various adventure bike forums. I would be surprised if it can be done cheaper than Adam's suggestion of second hand and then a tart up. My cheap solution was from this excellent company http://www.ewetsuits.com/acatalog/Dry-B ... .html#a744 I bought the 60l rucksack as the shoulder straps can be removed leaving the bag with only two small straps to help bungee it to the bike. £23, bone dry and tough.
  13. I saw a lady pillion (I am making an assumption here, since with a helmet on and full leathers it could have been a bloke, all be it a short one) with remarkable high heeled boots. It looked odd till I saw how the boots and the pillion peg went together with the peg between the sole and heel.
  14. So long it is kevlar and it is CE marked armour, those jeans will do for long journeys as well! Just get some water proof over trousers for when it rains.
  15. Bum bags for bikers, £25 plus delivery and they work as well as anything else I have tried, plus they are the cheapest. http://www.bumbags4bikers.co.uk/
  16. I get cluster headaches http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_headache "The term "headache" does not adequately convey the severity of the condition; the disease may be the most painful condition known to medical science" http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/cluster-he ... ction.aspx "Sufferers often call them 'suicidal headaches' because they're so severe." http://www.migrainetrust.org/factsheet- ... ache-10908 "Cluster headache is a rare type of headache that affects about 1 to 2 people in every 1,000. It is one of the most painful conditions an individual can experience," So take all the f**k its in this thread, add them up and that is how I have been for 5 f**king days of hell. It is five years to the week since the last one, so the next is expected 5 years from now, just when I have retired and was hoping to go and ride America. f**k it with bells on. Plus the weather has been glorious and riding the bike is completely out of the question.
  17. The fairing looks over sized and I suspect it would look a lot better naked
  18. Bought June 2014, £50 from J&S http://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/gloves/s ... black.html? http://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/media/catalog/product/f/t/ftseg213b02.jpg These are to replace my Spada Air Tech, bought for the summer of 2011 and still fine, but worn and overused. Glove sizing has always been an issue for me with any glove and with the FT I went for large which is a squeeze, but XL meant tons of flap at the end of the fingers. Likes - airflow through the fingers with the little holes in the gloves is excellent - made with lots of leather as opposed to a textile summer glove - solid knuckle and finger protection, plus a flap attaching the little finger to the next finger to stop it from bending back in an accident - wide adjustment on cuff so I can have it inside or outside the jacket sleeve. Average - no venting on the top of the glove - fitting problems I worse them for a few hours in the first really hot day of the year and felt absolutely fine in them.
  19. Had a ride yesterday in the first real heat of the year and with all vents open it was lovely, but very noisy! There is a huge difference in noise between all open and all closed.
  20. I prefer Forcefield as well, very comfy and not sweaty in the heat http://www.motolegends.com/body-armour/ ... tAodHlIAIA
  21. Mull of Galloway Chrichton Castle Dirleton Castle
  22. In this country, with the sun low in the sky for long periods of time in the morning and evening, I think an internal sun visor is essential, however, they vary in effectiveness. The ones on my Cabergs have been good, the Shark Evoline is excellent and the AVG K3 OK. The K3 does not cover the eyes so well and it is not dark enough.
  23. I glamp as much as possible. Plus getting pissed helps.
  24. I have had no issues with them either. But with the unreliable sizing of helmets, jackets and trousers, I would not buy online for any of them.
