  1. What's the leader list look like? Will we do one next year?
  2. Take off the front sprocket cover as it can become a grease and crud bath with suspended road grit in it. The chain runs through that and you will never get it properly clean. I gently poke out the crud with an old screwdriver.
  3. My hi viz vest from Tin Wolf. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7429/10976647185_4725cba703_z.jpg Tool tubes with trailer reflectors bolted through the lids. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7289/8726298420_1244e83d3c_z.jpg
  4. I know white cars are now fashionable, but has anyone else noticed a rise in the use of white helmets? I seem to see loads, where as most used to be black.
  5. That style of disc lock does not fit all bikes. If the disc is close to the wheel rim it will not slip back into place to lock. Shackle locks like the Oxford Boss, Mammoth Mini Thatcham disc lock or bolt through like Xena disc locks are easier to fit.
  6. My first gloves stank, Oxford Bone Dry. I have no idea why, could not get rid of the smell and so ditched them. None of the gloves I have had since then have smelled.
  7. Pretty much, most here are supporters of ATGATT.
  8. I wear biker jeans a lot. With the kevlar layer and the hip and knee/shin armour I feel safe.
  9. Used it a lot today as an intercom. For an hour we had it switched on all the time and just chatted. It is fine to about 60mph and then shouting and repeats are needed to hear each other over that speed. If anything the sound was better with ear plugs in as that reduced wind noise. When just using it when required it was like it dialled the other intercom and sometimes it would take a couple of attempts to get through. My microphone functioned fine whether I had the chin bar up or down. So very pleased.
  10. I prefer muffs as they are cheaper, no risk of electrical issues, can be fitted/unfitted quickly and simply and they are also good at keeping your hands dry.
  11. I think Sinnis have a really nice range of bikes.

    Full beams

Since its a 125cc, the lights are invariably disappointing! I agree some adjustment is needed, the instructions should be in your owners manual and a bulb check.
  13. I like the idea of living in a cave, or in this case not glamping but glaveing!
  14. BT Interphone comms system. £63 for 2 off eBay. This review is tried, not yet fully tested. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41myBKMVGfL._SX385_.jpg I went for this product primarily on the strength of the Amazon reviews and its simplicity. I want something so I can chat to my son when he joins me for ride outs as a pillion. GOOD - It was easy to fit the our helmets. The velcro that holds the speakers in place is very effective and I found for both helmets the speaker works fine under the padding, so it does not rub against your ear. The wires are a good length so you can position the speakers where you want them, but you are not left with tons of wire to tuck away. The clip feels secure and the unit clips into that nicely. The reception is really good and we were wondering all around the house and could hear each other easily. The controls are so simple to use for intercom duties. Build quality feels good. MEDIUM - The instructions are not great and we had a bit of figuring out to do, but with the simple controls it was not hard to get going. BAD - the clip is not the best and two have snapped. They are not sold separately and so super glue and bits of cable tie to act as reinforcement was used to repair them. Once you put the clip on the helmet, my advice would be to leave it there. TO BE DONE - using my phone with it for music. I cannot see me using my phone for calls as that would be too distracting. Wet weather testing. Testing at speed. Battery life.
  15. x2. If done that way it is very effective. I use a cloth rather than brush.
  16. These have yet to leak on me and they have been tested for hours in the rain http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Weise-Waterpr ... 4ac9df6a1c http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPADA-912-Wat ... 4d007d4086
  17. Sepultura, awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... _6IjeprfEs
  18. x2, worked for me.
  19. I did my DAS on a XJ6n and it sounds, looks and goes brilliantly. Great choice, all we need now are some pictures
  20. I corner at what feels the safest and smoothest way for me. So long I stay in between the verge and centre line I am not that fussed. I pay more attention to the corner's road surface and any pot holes than limit/vanishing points.
  21. Chin bar up means a much better view and no issues with fogging up. I see bikers with full face helmets and the visor open and worry about their eyes and what could happen if they get a strike by a stone or insect. I also get a bit claustrophobic and found this was the best compromise as the coverage is more than most open face helmets, with the option of in a second switching to full face.
  22. Bought Oct 2012 for £180, reduced as the Evoline 3 had just come onto the market. http://bikerthomas.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/evoline2.jpg Flip over chin bar. The series 2 needs the visor opened before the chin bar can be flipped, the series 3 does not. I do not consider that to be a deal breaker. I can easily flip the chin bar either way on the move, it clicks into place either way. As an open faced helmet it still has a lot of protection with only the tip of my chin exposed. The visor comes all the way down and I ride that that most of the time. The chin bar comes down on the motorway and in the rain. I do not notice the chin bar when it is back on the helmet now, but I did at first due to the way it changes the weight distribution. Sun visor. Slides up and down no problem and covers my eyes. Quality of finish inside and out. After a year of use the chin bar works fine, as does the sun visor. Comfortable and easy to clean. Ratchet strap, which I prefer to a D ring. Ventilation, very good with the chin bar up, not so great when it is down with two vents that do not appear to do a huge amount. Noise, poor. It is a noisy helmet and manages to be as noisy with the chin bar down as up. Overall verdict - I cannot imagine a better style of helmet, the chin bar makes it for me, with only noise as a downside and that is solved with ear plugs.
  23. I have nearly finished painting my plastic fairings with satin matt acrylic paint. Should I put a coat of lacquer on last? I do not want the finish to go shiny.
  24. Devin Townsend, rocking https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1Gwtep ... detailpage More mellow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0uVzzQ ... detailpage
  25. I have refurbished both my callipers and the red rubber grease will soon wash off. It is for parts were metal goes against rubber and is enclosed. The same is true for copper grease. That will not last long before it is washed away. To keep the pistons and seals working, clean them every so often. ">
