  1. I think Rushwind should get the whole lot
  2. What do all the separate challenge completed pictures look like?
  3. I see what you mean. I did a bit of welding and all that is needed is to go over those welds with a grinding disc to tidy them up.
  4. Added a none of the above. What other things should go onto the list?
  5. Cracking review Sableye. All we need now are more pictures of things like the welds.
  6. I ask because today, by accident as a sheep ran straight out in front of me on a muddy bend, I had the back wheel out in a pretty perfect slide. I felt like a biking God, but a bit of wee still came out (You can vote for any that you have done)
  7. Did this today http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Lea ... s&t=m&z=11 Sanquhar to Crawfordjohn to Leadhills is excellent, apart form the sheep, the lorries, the muck, the stones, the pot holes, but otherwise it is a great run
  8. I was reading about staying dry in this months Ride magazine. You may have experienced wet out where the fabric is not leaking water, but it saturated and damp to touch, so you feel wet. As for water on the crotch, stand up on the pegs for a second and any gathering water blows away. My Weise over trousers and Spada waterproof jacket have been thoroughly tested in the rain and are water proof. But I can get a bit sweaty and again feel damp.
  9. Thanks for the suggestions SN, my next run http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=San ... 0&t=m&z=10
  10. I think it is just your luck. Some helmets due to build quality issues just leak. My Caberg Konda flip front has been fine.
  11. I can see how biker jeans would go with textile or leather jackets, otherwise I meant mixing brands.
  12. Your options really open up if you don't try and match. I don't match and I see loads of other riders who don't match either. Are you anywhere near a J&S store http://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/stores Take your kit along and try out other stuff. My stuff does not match as in brand, but it goes together without looking silly.
  13. I dont think you are missing anything. Those brackets will not work with that rack. You need to do sort of modification.
  14. I will certainly vouch for Gayle and Ed, if they say they got there and no pen or paper, they were still there Glad to see the rules are not getting in the way of the fun. I certainly intend to go to the Forth and photo the right bridge at some point, just as an excuse to have another run.
  15. The faired look is great
  16. Throttled

    pollish

Try rubbing it with a Polish.
  17. I want to investigate the little road to the north, the B740. Hopefully it is strewn with pot holes and rocks, just as I like them!
  18. The comments that follow the article are all in favour of regular use of WD40, without any issues arising. So it is an expert opinion vs actual use.
  19. Well I am going to have a go and see how it works out. I am hoping that since it will not be used all year round and so it will not get the ravages of winter it will not have such a hard time of it. Grit and salt really goes for a chain.
  20. WD40 appears to be the dream product for chains. It cleans, loosens tight spots, protects, disperses water and leaves a film of oil. I have read of some Versys riders who only use WD40, successfully, no issues. They spray the chain every few days and that is it. If they miss a bit one day, they will get it another, so it involves very little effort. I sprayed my chain today and it certainly drove a ton of water out of it after I had washed the bike. It has left an oily film. So should I keep going, or is this a bad idea?
  21. That looks like you get a better rear view with the pointy bit up.
  22. Though you can get a black version if you want. Bought from J&S for £90. Though there is only padding and no CE armour. I swapped my CE armour from my old jacket. So add CE armour (elbow, shoulder and back) and its real cost is about £140. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41RaTr9AUhL._AA300_.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51rSSlz8PYL._AA300_.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51GFsxi6tKL._AA300_.jpg GOOD It is surprisingly light weight, but still has a build quality that inspires confidence. It has an effective breathable waterproof (the breathable part is effective in warm weather, not sure about its waterproofness yet) lining and a quilted cold weather detachable lining. It is very visible as the fabric has a shimmer to it that catches the light, so I think it stands out better than any hi-vz top. It has a nice fit for gentlemen with tums and is long enough that you can pretty much sit on it. There is a handy secure pocket inside the lining for easy reach for your wallet at petrol stations. It has four other pockets, the outer ones with waterproof (not thoroughly tested yet) linings. MEDIUM This is a point of view but it does not look like a motorbike jacket, instead it looks like a stylish raincoat. The armour is hardly noticeable. BAD There is no zip to connect it to trousers. OTHER Still to be tested in consistent pouring rain. I would rate this as three seasons as I doubt it would cope with hours of heavy rain, especially as it has a button front with a flap and non waterproof zip.
  23. It was a dry afternoon, with some light drizzle
  24. I think pointy bits down.
  25. Had an explore and Abington to the A76 via Leadhills and Wanlockhead (B797) is a great road and climb http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/45873000/jpg/_45873849_d%26gfilms.jpg http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Abi ... 1&t=m&z=11 The Mennock Pass down from Wanlockhead to the A76 is the best part, twisting, narrow and I saw people panning for gold in the river! http://gallery3.shippen.org.uk/var/resizes/scotsgeog/D_Mennock_Pass_gold_stream.jpg?m=1303665454 The road surface is good, just watch for sheep.
