  1. Hi Guys, its been a while, got a tent sorted, just need to get a big bag to fit all my gear in and I'll be in business ,do you guys think this year it'll be more of us?
  2. I'm looking to get a tent but since I can carry limited load, I don't mind sharing a tent if anyone is offering.
  3. getting slated before being anywhere near the actual rally, ah cheers mate,I know you love me,some inspirational talk there.lool I don't think so at all Donnie - I may be wrong but All Bex is saying is that you need to be pro-active!! You don't know what you can do until you've tried! hrrrm I was actually being a bit sarcastic there,I wasn't serious in what's been said, rally mood will kick in soon
  4. Being a coguar owner myself I've heard of couple of people having trouble with the starter motor, luckily I never did, anyhow if you ever need bits and pieces Google ''bob wright'' he's you man,I've bought a fair amount of parts off him for my bike,he's a lovely chap to deal with.
  5. Sorry don't mean to highjack the thread but whilst we're on the subject, was I ment to tell my insurance about my open pipe straight through exhaust?I never have done in the last 2yrs
  6. getting slated before being anywhere near the actual rally, ah cheers mate,I know you love me,some inspirational talk there.lool
  7. Hrmmm, that's certainly and option but I very much prefer the camping environment to be honest techno,as Sue said there should be some sort of compact tent that can be folded in(got a sleeping bag already),gonna look around and see what I can get my hands on
  8. Pretty certain it's out of action I'm afraid. You'll have to get to Tesco & get yourself some cheap camping gear! oh dear,it's not the question of cost,I'm currently throwing hundreds to get the cbr back on the road, its practicality ,problem is that if I come with the CBR my load capacity is gonna be ''very''limited'' compared to the gilera that had a rack on it and carried half a ton of my accessories last year. I just don't have the nerves, brain power and physical power to put up with that much noise and vibration on a long journey,it'll rattles and shake every bone and joint in ur entire being(its hideously loud too). In the other hand I very much doubt being able to fit everything I need in a large rock sack unless it's really gigantic, shall I start a ''share a tent thread?lol
  9. The difference is not having any throttle at all.lol ,I recently stripped my carb, needle back in and pressed the throttle grip and it was just playing and wasn't pulling the cable. after some fiddling I discovered that if you don't get the grooves inside the barrel right then the spring surrounding the needle will be compressed a lot hence no throttle. that 10mm will compress the spring just enough to give the correct throttle response(if not put in right then it's pretty much fully compressed like when it's on full throttle) Hope I understood you question correctly and what I said makes sense, good luck
  10. Never put car oil in your bike, bikes have a wet clutch(most anyway) and bike oil is designed to lubricate your gearbox as well as your engine components, for the sake of tenner a L which buys you castrol synthetic it just doesn't worth risk having a ruined gearbox and slipping clutch.
  11. damn its been close to a year already ,last year I had so much laugh there that it genuinely gave me a boost for a good 6months,this year with a few familiar faces it'll be even better, hopefully the bike is gonna be back on the road by then. count me in,lets ave it peeps! PS. Rennie this time it'll be my turn to get you a pint, can I borrow the tent please? Stu and Tracey Susieque and Rennie Techno and significant other TC Yorbandit mojobanana Littlecat Donnie Brasco
  12. Far too liberal mate, mainly aimed to screw the working man with hideous tax system and protect the criminal
  13. Well the idle speed was sorted today,a big screw by the carb that I could turn with my bare hands, however my satisfaction was short lived as scumbags stole the bike this evening
  14. @ TC,I've missed out a lot then, damn, hrrrm TMBF rally hey,not the one I made an absolute cock up of the karaoke?lol, cheshirecbr hope you get your bike sorted, whats up with it,are you looking to rebuild or modify your current bike?over what sort of time scale it's likely to be on the road?
  15. Fozzie you're a legend mate, problem is that I usually have enough textbook info to carry out the work and rectify the problem but don't have the guts to hold a spanner with the fear of messing something else up
  16. Cheers guys, yes I have purchased a haynes manual off hebay,it should be here soon
  17. Just come to think of it,its only the buyer who's permitted to leave neg feedback, where's the justice in that? Seller's protection is really the thing of the past, not only they won't listen(paypal, evilbay) they actually join forces to screw the seller
  18. Any of you guys been on a group ride out yet?
  19. In the past few days I've noticed that once my CBR125 is fully warmed up it idles at 2000rpm,isn't that a bit too high? The user manual says 1500 give or take 100. Is it really a problem or shall I leave the thing alone? Just to ad that I've checked that the choke is fully off. BTW they fitted fuel injection from 2007 on cbr125's,My bike is a 2007 model and I still cannot establish whether its a carb or injection, there's not a lot on the manual to say whether its an ''RW6'' or ''RW7''. Does having a manual choke indicated that its a carb? Thanks
  20. I see Megawatt, when I come to think of it I don't really need one but I'll probably get one, thanks for all the comments guys
  21. That's the actual problem Steve,I would imagine that the holders would slide in and out to fit the width of each bike?that's how looks on the photo
  22. Hi guys,I bought a CBR125R recently(still kept the gilera), I'm after a stand to make it easier to lube the chain,I have seen a few on the bay in the £20 mark some hold the swing arm and some hold the bobbins, are these universal and the holders can be adjusted to the width of the bike? I don't want to end up sending it back as it'll cost a fortune so what's your view on this one for instance? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BIKETEK-MOTORBIKE-MOTORCYCLE-REAR-PADDOCK-TRACK-STAND-/190610687711?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2c614846df Cheers James the caveman.lol
