  1. mods feel free to move if this is the wrong section had my first full track day at cadwell thursday and loved it pics on the link, including my unscheduled excursion ...oops http://www.facebook.com/nobodyhomeright ... 583&type=3
  2. send me your mobile number lou, can save you a pitch no problem
  3. lou if you want to bike up friday or saturday and camp,im pretty sure me and ohjay could provide you with a big bike escort, and no we bloody wouldnt get bored...youd feel a lot safer with more road presence.
  4. Lou...i think you need a scary bird on an R6 as an escort ....i really think you should try a longer journey and not give in to the fear by pulling over every time you feel uncomfortable/panicky, you're not giving yourself time to settle in ..happy to come ride with you, ( and believe me im not fast at all, there would be no pressure, but a noisy R6 does tend to give a bit more road presence)
  5. cool, we can always give her a hand mate, just need to swap numbers so she can find us..or vice versa
  6. tango, me and ohjay will be camping, heading down sometime friday..what time are you planning on getting there?
  7. yup, you have provisional, but you do need to take cbt before you can ride
  8. check the wiring, charge the battery, and made sure there not a fuelling problem. if you havnt got one , buy a multimeter, saves a shit load of expense replacing parts that arent knackered
  9. small tip...each time you need to do a job, buy the best tool money can buy for that exact job, dont buy loads of stuff cheap, just buy the best there is in the exact size you need....after doing several different jobs that way, you will begin to build a decent set of tools that will last, and be more than worth the seemingly extortionate price for each one
  10. if i can do it anyone can...having a bike makes you learn this shit, and fast. ive always avoided anything remotely mechanicish, till i had to start doing it myself...even took the wheels off myself last year and replaced them after the tyres had been changed...never thought id trust myself, but the right tools make a hell of a difference. when the electrics went tits up on me a couple of months back i had it in bits, removing parts of the wiring harness and all sorts...the thought of a huge garage bill can work wonders for your ability.
  11. tbh i think it would have to be cheaper to buy the neccessary tools to adjust the rear wheel , than to pay some one else to do it, and then you have them to use whenever you need...just my opinion
  12. riding will have caused it ! you should be checking the tension every time you lube the chain ( please tell me you lube the chain regularly)
  13. unlucky...keep at it, will be worth it in the end, and could be worse...mod 2 is a lot more expensive to resit ...better luck next time
  14. also check continuity on the red from the reg rec plug to the battery ( probably to/from the main fuse/starter relay..check your wiring diagrams if you have a manual), clean and grease the terminals in the plugs...if the ac output from the generator is fine , and everything above the reg rec is ok, then its probably the unit itself
  15. not a prayer mate, much as i do love riding, 800 in a weekend is quite enough for me , a thousand in less than 24 hours would cripple me. good luck if you decide to go ahead tho, keep us updated
  16. echoing what has already been said....when cruising along get your toes/ball of your feet on the pegs....only cover the brake when you might need it, and yes you might need to flex your foot up to clear it, thats why you dont ride like that all the time
  17. sounds like a great cause..but several of us are slightly busy that weekend
  18. cbt gives you learner entitlement...you can only ride up to a 125, and have to sport l plates, and cannot carry a pillion or use a motorway...but you wont need theory if you proceed to test , you will need theory after the cbt before you can progress any further. personally i thought the old style licence( which i also have ) meant you still needed a cbt for anything 2 wheeled...but i may be wrong there, as i went straight onto a 125 and therefore did have to do cbt
  19. just to be the odd on out, i hate em, and wont ride in one..i prefer a tailpack or tankbag
  20. IF I take my bike, the plan is to transport it up as the missus won't go pillion due to me chucking her off a couple of times I have it in mind to hire a van If I decide not to take the bike we will be going by car If you aren't in a hurry to get there, more than happy to travel up with you why dont you ride and she bring the car ?? ahhh lol, maybe not then indeed Because she doesn't have a driving license and that would be illegal
