  1. Cool! Looking forward to seeing you. If you buy too much :mrgreen:then I can always take it back for you in the car
  2. I suppose I could just come upstairs and ask you
  3. Hey Lou, I'll almost certainly have the car with me on site on the Sunday as I need to drop my son off at an outward bound thing and I'll have to get everyone's tents home (in fact I probably won't see that much of the show Sunday). Most likely take the bike home on Sunday morning and pick up the car. If you can get yourselves to Huntingdon, I could give you a lift perhaps?
  4. Thanks Guys, I'll PM you my number. Picking Rhiannon up from Uni on the Thursday evening but I think she's seeing her Dad on the Friday. Will get everything pitched in the afternoon then probably get Rhiannon and Callum - knowing my luck I could have three tents to pitch (or one big one and Rhiannon's 2-man)! Does anyone know the earliest you can get on site?
  5. If it was only a few weeks ago the garage fitted the tyre they are responsible for the chain being so slack. It wouldn't stretch that much in too weeks. The only visit I would ever make to that garage again is to complain about their incompetence. I would never trust them with my bike. They will have had to remove the rear wheel to fit the tyre and therefore should have made sure the chain tension was right when they replaced it. With any luck this means that the chain is not worn though and it is a job that is really easy to do yourself.
  6. Anyone going tomorrow? Thinking of taking the bike to work again so I can go straight there. Weather looking sunny!
  7. Looks like fun! We'll be at the TMBF rally that weekend though
  8. Glad it looks like things are sorted Can't say I'm too impressed with this dealer but hopefully things will be OK now. This ramp access sounds like it needs some work or possibly just practice. The plastic sleeve around the side-stand switch is there to protect it, particularly from water off the roads. It would be a good idea to wrap the split in some insulating tape when you get the chance
  9. That definitely looks like an electrical connection to the side-stand switch. There also doesn't seem to be much sign of an oil leak there - grubby maybe but not wet. Anyway, sorry I have to go out now. Good luck with it I'll connect later from the office
  10. Sorry Voodoo, was writing while you were posting
  11. It's hard to tell but that looks more like the insulation casing around the electrical connection going to the side-stand switch - so could be a red herring - are you sure the oil is coming from there and not just collecting there and running from somewhere else. Anyway, if it's black and thick then it's oil so don't attempt to start it until you've replaced whatever is broken and put more oil in. Don't be hard on yourself - these things happen. Could you take a few more pics from different angles?
  12. It's hard to know without looking at it but it sounds likely that it is related to the oil sump/filter. The filter is a cylindrical thing around 6cm in in diameter, usually black that is under the engine block and held in place by a nut. It could be that you have knocked this an it is leaking. You should also be able to tell if it's oil or petrol. Oil doesn't smell much and it's thicker. Petrol smells like......petrol. I need to go to work soon but try and take a look under it and get some pics to post and hopefully someone's around to help. DON'T try to run your engine if you don't have enough oil - it will damage the engine. Does your bike have a dipstick or sight glass to check the oil?
  13. We was hiding Tango's away on a course this week (back tonight) and I was setting up for a two-day exhibition in Birmingham on Tusday evening. Sorry Jayne, hopefully next week
  14. Run the bike on the stand so the lights are on and then operate the back and front brakes to test if the brake lights are going on and off smoothly. If they are then you are probably riding with your foot on the brake, if not then Megawatt's suggestion sounds like the most likely problem.
  15. The only thing that you twist and then engine sounds different is the idle adjuster (adjusts the speed that the engine ticks over at when its just running with no throttle) and I really can't see how this would flatten your battery.
  16. Quick...it's sunny out there now..... Yeah and the 'hail' warning disappeared as soon as I put the bike away
  17. Rained all the way to the MOT today then stopped as we got there, F**k it! Bike passed so was feeling happy an decided to leave the bike out when I got back ready for a little ridette later Started raining again and now the met office reckons hail and I didn't get the bike in the garage before it got wet! F**k it again
  18. Bonnie's MOT tomorrow, fingers crossed. Fortunately Tango noticed my tail light had gone on Tuesday so I know the lights are OK
