Welcome to TMBF mate......please can you introduce yourself to the rest of the guys on the Forum in the Newbies section...... Nice bike......I had a Suzuki TS185 many years ago......it was a real hoot......wish I still had it.....

Just back.......it was a tad cool on the way back too.....but a goodly collection of bikes there tonight......Nice to see Nman1 again after the winter layoff...... I will be expecting a note from the absentees Mums though.......

We should be there this evening. ....just got back from work.....

Hmmm.....it's a bit hard to tell from listening to the noise on a Youtube vid......but it sounds like Big End knocking to me......but I can't say for sure..... I take it that the engine oil level is OK?

We'll be there as long as I don't get sent anywhere silly by work...... Seems that mot people start turning up the at 7pm and later.......so we'll aim for 7 and see how it goes.....

2006 bike regularly maintained knackering out the main bearings?.......hmmm.....I'd deffo be looking for a second opinion on that!!

Standard 8" round headlight....coz I have plans around a cockpit fairing..... The dilemma around the frame and seat may have just been resolved by looking at some pics of another CB750 cafe racer......and it looks like I may be able to trim another 120mm off the rear of the frame with my trusty angle grinder..... I was worried about weakening the frame....but the bike I looked at is in regular use and is fully roadworthy.....so there may be some light at the end of this tunnel..... Sorry....this thread is a bit long on words and short on pics.....but I hope to remedy that pretty soon.....

A couple of mm is acceptable to me.....but no more than that.

Looking at the rear sprocket see if you can pull the chain away from the sprocket at the 3 o'clock position...if you can then the chain is worn. Also check the tension of the chain at several points.....if there's a big difference between the tightest and loosest points it'll need replacing. Oh....and also check the sideways deflection of the chain in the bottom run.....too much sideways movement is also bad.....

You have to skip through 3rd gear or the bike slows down?.......sounds like you've got a duff gearbox mate.....

Nothing particularly special on the 22nd Neil....it's just that Adam said he would try to get down again.....and if he can get there on his 125 from Norwich I'm sure we can get there from where we live..... The more the merrier......
