  1. Why?.......just run a new earth wire for the horn......job done.....

    socket sets

My halfords set is 8 years old and the ratchet is still ok......

    socket sets

I would guess a set of metrics from 10mm to 20mm would do most of it......and a fairly basic set like this from halfords shouldn't be too expensive. .....
  4. Slightly warmer weather. ....maybe it doesn't need as much choke?
  5. Have you tried the horn with the engine running? Horn don't work on my bike unless the engine is running.....was the same on the sprint too.....
  6. Thanks for the heads-up HondaBL1......shame to hear about ultimate bike gear moving...... There's a meet at the Crown & cushion pub in Great Gransden on the 3rd Wednesday of the month which is worth a run to...... We'll have to have to trawl around to see what else there is.......
  7. Ooppss....been away again... Yep....the Sprint tank is plastic....so magnetic tank bags are a non-starter......Baglux or those ones where they have a clip type mechanism that goes around the filler cap are possibilities.... Throw over panniers are the cheaper option......but keep an eye on eBay for the Triumph luggage (the Sprint uses the same pannier cases as the Tiger 1050.....but the pannier brackets are slightly different). When using the bike solo I use a Kriega tailpack.....but that's no good for 2-up though.
  8. Sounds like the starter relay may be stuffed then mate.....
  9. Here you are.....check this out.... http://www.geton.co.uk/free-ride.html
  10. Some places do the "Get on" scheme to let people have a short session on a bike to see if they'll like it....so it may be worth having a look to see if anyone does that near you.....
  11. Is this an off road bike then? Does it have an electric start or is it kickstart only?
  12. CBT = Compulsory Basic Training.....
  13. Have a look at the bike when you get time too.....
  14. Check the battery voltage.....and also the connections to the headlamp in case you've got a high resistance connection. Dunno if the lights on that bike are relay controlled....but if they are I'd be looking at that too.....
  15. No engine number, no buy...... 07 GSXR needs a new engine?.......

    Suzuki gn125

If the plug is white you're running too lean......so you've either got the main jet needle on the wrong setting or air is getting into the inlet somewhere......
  17. You'll get the hang of it mate.......it's just one of those things that if you think about it your coordination goes all to pot....once you get to the stage of not having to think about it you'll have it nailed....and that comes pretty quickly.....
  18. Do the lights come on....and the neutral light etc? If they do then it could be that your starter relay is stuffed.....
  19. There are restrictions on the maximum power that the 50cc is allowed to produce to be legal for 16 year old's.....but the style of bike and having gears are not restricted as far as I'm aware.....
  20. Is the new battery the correct rating for the bike? Also how long are your journeys on the bike......if they are too short the alternator won't have enough time to replace the charge that was lost when starting the bike....and the charge will decrease over time.....

    Chain!

The rollers or chain guides do wear.....so it may be normal wear..... But check the wheel alignment just to be on the safe side.....
  22. Tango

    Chain wear

Cheap chains and sprockets are a false economy......get decent ones and they should last as others have suggested......

    Stupid Question!

No such thing as a stupid question mate.......so please don't hesitate to ask if there's something you don't know or want clarification on. ....... I think the question has been covered here......so, good luck......

    battery

Hmmm....it's another 9ah battery by the looks......but Motobatt are good batteries and it mentions it as a replacement for your YT12......so it would be the one that I'd go for......
  25. Tango

    battery

yt12?....I'll guess is a Yuasa battery.....and it's gonna be 12ah capacity....whereas that Numax battery is 9ah capacity (in fact the blurb says 8ah).....so this battery has 25% less capacity than the one already in your bike......
