  1. OK....you can pull the HT lead of each of the plugs in turn.....if it runs with one of them removed but not with the other removed then it's the one associated with the plug that stops the bike running..... Another thing it could be is valve clearances.....if you've got a valve that's not closing correctly you can get the same sort of thing....especially the backfiring bit.....
  2. Sounds like a coil (s) breaking down to me......back firing would be unburnt fuel in the exhaust igniting.....and if it's OK at higher revs but dies at lower revs it's typical of coils in my mind.....
  3. I prefer it like that Stu......looks more like a Ducati......
  4. thank you loosen then or will the handlebar just slide on and off then be kept in place as said earlier by that single bolt on the underside The handlebar should just slide off the top of the fork leg once the pinch bolt on the side is loosened........although a little bit of twisting on the handlebar may help to remove it....if you can twist it.......otherwise a little bit of leverage between the top yoke and the underneath of the handlebar may be required.....
  5. Hey Ricky, the night breakers are just different bulbs that'll just replace the ones in there already. They're just better bulbs that give off a whiter light......and are brighter too.......
  6. Glad to hear that Ricky and Terry and Moo and Fozzie all got back OK.......and everyone else too......what a perfect day for it too!!......one of the best October days I can remember for some time...... And Deso's route up from Horncastle was spot on too.......great bit of road......
  7. No....don't remove the Huge hexagonal bolt.......unless you want a fork spring to hit you in the face......
  8. Great to see such a good turnout......and nice to see you all again.....and to actually meet Fozzie and Ricky and Stu's brother....... Yeah....need you to check-in when you get back Ricky.....just to make sure you made it back OK. Get yourself a charger for the bike too mate......save all this phone dying on you business...... So.....when's the beginning of season meet?........
  9. Yeah....was a good run.....although the journey up was better than the return.....but back safe and sound. Slightly achey shoulders....but all ok apart from that..... Thanks to all for the company there and back.......
  10. It would need a bigger front sprocket wouldn't it........to increase the top end speed?.
  11. Changing the number of teeth on the Front sprocket would have a greater impact......so, if you upped the front sprocket by 2 teeth it shouldn't have too great affect on the chain tensioning if any......and I would have thought that changing the front sprocket over while you're swapping the wheels wouldn't be too much of a job?......
  12. Well.....keep us posted on how you get on......and Repsol Racing Queen........
  13. Welcome to TMBF mate........head over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the rest of the gang when you can...... If you could make it up to the Motorcycle Live Show at the NEC in Birmingham at the end of November I'm sure you'd find all that you need there...... The other thing is check eBay for secondhand gear......people will be offloading kit after the summer.....so you can find some decent, well looked after gear on there for reasonable money if you're careful......just don't buy secondhand crash helmets...... And definitely look for textiles with CE approved armour fitted..... Crash Helmets really do need to be tried on by yourself before buying.......fit is extremely important..... Good Luck
  14. Sorry to hear about this Neil....... However, we do tend to think the worst when we hear that someone has cancer, but it's often very treatable if caught early enough. My Mum had bowel cancer nearly 30 years ago now.....but it was caught in time and she was given the all clear a good many years ago......and my Dad has Prostate cancer which he is being treated for......unfortunately this is not curable....but is generally a very slow progressing cancer, so the chances are that old age will take him before the cancer does. Anyway mate......it's not always the death sentence that we assume it is.....you just need to keep positive for your relo and give them support if they need it.....
  15. Congrats Guys..........Mod 2 should be a breeze then......
  16. I think that we're gonna aim to head up the a16 past Boston......probably go round the Peterborough ring road and past Werrington and then up from there...... So if there's a place along that way that would be more convenient to meet let us know..... Got to sit down and plot the route into my Satnav as time at the weekend is gonna be tight....
  17. Looking forward to meeting Ricky - The Motorcycle Slayer...........and all the other guys and gals who make it along there......
  18. I've got an RST baby-grow that comes with it's own bumbag, Moo......just what you always wanted...... But anyway.......it seems to be pretty waterproof and goes over my leathers.....but it's a bit of a struggle to get into it.....and an even bigger struggle to get out of it again.....seems to get hooked up on the shoulder armour in my jacket...... I think the pics you took of me and Mandy arriving at the rally this year showed me wearing it..... But when the weather gets really cold I'll switch back to my textiles.......
  19. Lay off the pies!!.....
  20. I think it is Derek......thank you.....but I'll have to stick with Mandy's route....if you know what I mean....
  21. and this doesn't even get us on Moo's maybe list?? so much for need more girls, seems we're invisible Yeah....missed Jayne (Seabluegal) off too......
  22. glad you didnt mispell peebo r u coming up the A141 towards march then heading north from there through up to wisbech and onwards? if so i can meet you just before where the A141 meets the A47, i'll just roll on behind, there'll be no need for a stop, unless you are feeling particularly old having ridden the whole 20 minutes from Huntingdon if its anouther route up just let me know, i dont care where we hook up cheers Yeah...you're all just a load of peebo's...... Mandy plotted a route through P'boro and up Spaldwick way and past Boston......so we'll probably not go as far East as Wisbech Terry. The route is on the first page of the End of Season meet thread mate.......and I'll get Mandy to plot it on Google maps and link it later. Unless anyone knows a better route?
  23. Be good to see you there Dave...... We should be arriving around 1 ish....hopefully.....
  24. Dunno Stu.....but I'm happy with them.....and I'm sure they'll be a good upgrade on the project bike too......
  25. Nice one Stu.....I knew someone had suggested it....... BTW....have you got shares in Motobatt?......
