  1. Welcome to TMBF mate......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys and girls on here when you can...... OK.....you've checked the oil level, right?......if it's not low oil or needing an oil change it could be the valve clearances need looking at...... Failing that, it could be a little more serious.....but cross that bridge after you've checked these things first.....

The first thing would be to check the bulbs, this is the most likely thing. Then check the fuses, but I think that the fuses will supply other things and not just the headlamps, so if all other electrical items are working I'd think it's unlikely to be a fuse. Check the connectors to the headlamps and maybe unplug and re plug them several times to clean the contacts. Then you'd be into the wiring which may not be a quick job. But first off check the bulbs.......
  3. Check the size of the piston already in the bike first.......it may have already had a rebore and may have an oversize piston in......
  4. Try it first Ricky.......if you can't get a spark then investigate a bit further.....but it sounds like the electrics needs a good sort out..... Martin's suggestion of a new loom off eBay would be a good place to start.....
  5. Personally I'd try to get it running first to see what may need doing........but I suspect you'll probably need to do a complete strip job to get it sorted properly......
  6. Should be a really good project Ricky....... I know some of us slate 2-strokes for their reliability....but they are a damn site easier to rebuild than 4-strokes......and are a hoot when they're running..... Have fun with it mate......
  7. I recently bought a secondhand Rukka jacket off eBay......I've yet to try it in the rain.....but I'll be suprised if it leaks.......and I have some Hein Gericke textile trousers that only leaked when I was deluged in Wales over a 6 hour period...... My Triumph gear has always been pretty good.....so check out the Outlet site......limited sizes available....but you may get lucky...... http://www.triumphfactoryoutlet.com/sec ... ns_jackets
  8. There's a couple of guys around Kings Lynn that occasionally get on here that may be able to recommend somewhere....... Try PM'ing DaveFly.......can't remember who the other guy is.....
  9. I'd report him Alan.......the cops may not be able to do much about it....but he may have done something similar in the past and they can go round and have a little chat to him.....and maybe get him to have a read of the highway code.......
  10. Good luck with it Ricky........we need pictures though....... Original paint scheme gets my vote.......
  11. Well, overfuelling can be as bad as underfuelling......so make sure the choke isn't sticking on....... If you've got the pin on the wrong slot on the throttle slider you can have all sorts of problems.......so you may need to try to find out which notch on the pin the circlip is meant to go.....otherwise you'll have to strip the carb and try different notches until you find the right one.....

    Yep.....that's the ticket......
  13. Lack of backpressure in a 4-stroke is normally compensated for by upping the main jets a bit......it'll run a bit lean if not......but as Derek says, on a 2-stroke it can make a huge difference. If the exhaust is leaking around the manifold due to the missing bolt it could really upset the engine with the resulting lack of power......that you've noticed...... Good luck with sorting it........and when you tighten stuff up on the bike, don't overtighten as a lot of these bikes use cheese instead of alloy and you'll strip threads out if you're not careful......
  14. Nice one mate......it's nice to hear of someone receiving good service for a change...... Maybe you can say hi in the Newbies section.......and also some pictures of the resurrected bike would be nice too.......show off Nigel's workmanship......

You're talking about the large screw that secures the right side panel?.......no chance of tapping it around with a screwdriver and small hammer?

    Cbr 125 brake problems

I usually use a large allen key laid in the disk slot on the caliper......that stops the pistons coming out completely......so when the free piston hits that it can't come out any further.....and the other piston can then move when you pull the brake lever......as long as you have some fluid in the brake system......

    Cbr 125 brake problems

Sounds like one of the pistons is stuck......could need a caliper strip and new seals fitted.....and clean the pistons if they aren't too bad......
  19. Nice try mate......but if you do ever manage to get the bike to run on water be sure to let us into the secret......
  20. The chips look a bit overdone......and the battered sausage...well!!......I think you need some lessons off of Tiggie.......

Is it that the pedal is sticking down?.....or is it just the switch that is sticking?......if it's just the switch then a bit of WD40 may well sort it......if it's the rear brake pedal sticking it may need a bit of dismantling and greasing the pivot......
  23. I saw on FB that the braced swing arm was in place Stu.......is that job done?........if so, did it drop straight on?.......
  24. Actually, the Belstaff waxed cotton jacket and trousers I had years ago never leaked.......so long as it was cleaned and re-waxed once a year......

    Improving headlamp

With decent wiring and as few connectors as possible to the headlamp you should get the best part of 13v.......
