    Chain Cleaning

I'm not a fan of using WD-40 on chains.....it's not what it was designed for. Most times I just use a rag to clean the chain......occasionally I use some Muc-off chain cleaner......and use Muc-off ptfe chain lube, which isn't sticky but doesn't fling off onto the rear wheel as much as oil.....
  4. I'd whip the fairings off and have a good look round......It could be coming from anywhere and dropping into the bellypan and then dripping from there. Also make sure that the sump breather is connected to the airbox and check the air filter. Have you topped the oil up recently? If you have, make sure you've not overfilled it.....
  5. The only pic I can find of my of Speed 4 at the moment. ....
  6. Nice bike mate......For a BMW.....
  7. I'd hope you don't mate......1 road in and 1 road out..... If you come in from the lower Papworth roundabout heading in the St Ives direction we'll be on the right about 300yds into the village.....
  8. Looking good mate...... Sorry, I do have some pics around of Tango (my Speed 4 was bright orange... ) but they're not on my tablet, so I'll need to fire my laptop up......which will take about a week! Top tip mate.....spray some ACF50 onto a rag and wipe it over the frame and engine cases.....they'll come up nice....
  9. There's a open parking and hand car wash place near to Bromley-by-Bow tube station.....just off the Blackwall Tunnel approach north of the river......think it's £5 a day or thereabouts. There's also on street parking on the back streets near the Royal London Hosp (pay by phone) with Whitechapel tube station over the road from the front of the hospital.....
  10. Whoa Alan......He wasn't ignoring advice as far as I can see. Those ports on the bottom of the tank should be overflow drain and vent. Ordinarily they should have pipes on them that go to the bottom of the bike. With your problem it sounds like fuel starvation or a blocked air filter......check your fuel line doesn't have any kinks in it and check your air filter.....and see where you go from there.....
  11. We need to be over there at about 9:30 to get coffee and bacon roll before the rideout......so we could meet you in Hilton at about 8:45 (outside pub and newsagents on right as you go into Hilton) .....then we can head towards St Ives and take the scenic route over to Waterbeach if that sounds ok?
  12. Nice to see Ollie and aleyj down there tonight......sorry if we missed you Jayne.....We left at around 8:15......It was starting to chill down a bit by then.....
  13. Bikes are on the drive.....ready and waiting.....
  14. Damn.....thought we'd got rid of you to the colonies!!..... Yeah...The rally, Alan.....no excuses now.....
  15. It's the Ashley Martin Memorial Ride on Sunday 8th May... .... http://www.ashleymartinmemorialrideout.co.uk/8th_ashley_martin_memorial_rideoutmay2016.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Going from Waterbeach (just north of Cambridge on the A10) to sunny Hunstanton. Bonniebird and I will be going....and we'll probably hook up with some guys from other biking groups we belong to.....but if anyone on here is interested too, let us know and we'll arrange to meet up and head over to Waterbeach together....... Just so you know...There is a charge to join the rideout (£5 for a bike and rider.... £7.50 for bike, rider and pillion) and all the money goes to MAGPAS. ....
  16. ST1100 would be OK, given your experience. .......The only thing I would say about the Honda Pans is, because of their reliability and their workhorse status they can end up getting a bit neglected......so, finding really nice secondhand ones can be a bit of a lottery.......but, if you do find a well looked after example they are great bikes for racking up the miles......
  17. Aha......so it was Ed's old Speed 4....... A set of crash bungs wouldn't go amiss if it doesn't have them already......I fitted R&G ones to my S4 when I had it.....bit of a faff having to drill holes in the radiator cowling plastics, but it turned out ok...... I put smoked lenses on the indicators, smoked LED rear light, laminar lip screen on the pixie hat and a Scottoiler on mine.
  18. I tried a cigarette once......and nearly threw up.......so I thought I'd give this smoking lark a miss.....
  19. Well done Tony......keep it up mate..... I've never been able to give up smoking................as I never started in the first place......
  20. l is Virus Northern slang for wallet No.....Virus is East of England slang for Ex Wife.....
