  1. Could be a dodgy connection to the light unit......or the light unit itself could be faulty......
  2. Yep.....very true, Stu...... So, in a nutshell. ......buy a chain and sprocket set that is specified for your bike......
  3. The number of teeth on both sprockets and the length of the chain and even the pitch of the chain will be specific to your bike........
  4. Hopefully the lining will give a bit as you wear it. My previous helmet used to give me headaches and never really improved, but my current lid was great straight off the bat......can wear it all day with no problems at all.....

    Square Tyres!

The Michelin PR3's on my Speedy have done well. .....not cheap though.....
  6. I saw somewhere that it will take 2 years to disentangle the UK from the EU if the vote goes out. But once the process has started there's no going back.

    Suspension setup.

The shoulders on your front tyre may be worn, which gives a feeling like it's going to wash out.....my PR4's are starting to feel like that, even though they're nowhere near the wear indicators....
  8. Yeah...angled valve......so much easier.....
  9. You should check the chain at least once a week if you're using the bike regularly.....and adjust it if required.
  10. OK. ....so this means that you can ride a bike on a provisional entitlement I think....ie, you can ride a moped without l-plates, but you'll need to complete a CBT to ride a 125 with L-plates. Unless you've passed a specific bike test you'll have do the DAS to ride anything bigger than a 125. Hope that this helps....

    Front end wobble

Just change the bl**dy bearings ya tight g*t....
  12. Yeah, the tank comes off pretty easily....it's just those fuel line connectors that can be a pain if they've not been upgraded.... I'd be inclined to try to drain the tank as much as possible first.....just incase...... You'll also need to disconnect the electrical connector to the pump plate and the 2 overflow/vent pipes.....but if you prop the rear of the tank up a bit you should be able to get to them. The first time I took the tank off my Speed 4 I found the remains of a mouse nest between the airbox and the underside of the tank......and the little b'sterd had gnawed a hole through the airbox......not a big hole, so I managed to plug it..... Good luck with it......

    Front end wobble

Welcome to TMBF mate. ...... Sounds like the steering head bearings were too tight to start off with, so they've slackened them, but gone too far.....
  14. Unfortunately we're away at another rally that weekend......

    Front end wobble

Another thing to check is the steering lock. We had this on Mandy's Speed 4 after we'd changed the top yoke and swapped the ignition switch over. Because the ignition switch was very slightly too close to the headstock the steering lock pin was catching .....which made it slightly more difficult to move the bars from the straight ahead position.....It was surprising just how much this messed up riding the bike. We just slackened the bolts holding the ignition switch and moved it away from the headstock......which sorted the problem.....

    Front end wobble

Sounds like the steering head bearings have flattened a bit.....you get a spot ( usually in the centre) where it likes to be and it takes a bit more effort to move it off that spot. If you move the steering very slightly to either side does it have a tendency to try to centre itself?
  17. Filter down the right lane, definitely......
  18. Some more pics from the rideout.......from the Facebook page...... Bonniebird, aleyj and myself.....

    Carb problems

Hi Alex. ....... The carb shouldn't be spitting fuel at you......are all hoses and carb rubbers ok? I'm also guessing that the valve clearances haven't been checked in a while.....wouldn't hurt to give them a check, mate......
  20. Me too Al...... I'll be in St Louis, Missouri.....
  21. They come in 3's mate......so hopefully you're at the upturn now...
  22. The only thing you've got to worry about is the buses in Hull......nightmare mate.....
  23. No one has developed my idea for a rally tent jacket that uses airbag technology .......basically, as you fall over the airbag mechanism goes off and envelopes you in a tent......I'm sure there would be a market for this.....
  24. Yeah....I think we'll give it a miss too.....
  25. It was a good day.....just a bit busy between king's Lynn and Hunstanton. Good turnout though.....
