  1. Not checked anything on as yet. Wanted to see what people thought. There fairly cheap so I might just order one anyways Thanks for the replies
  2. On the Varadero I've noticed that the rear brake light doesn't light up properly when I pull the front brake lever. I'll try to explain more below... When pulling on the front lever the rear light lights up for the first cm pull of the lever but then goes out if you pull it any further..... Is this a sign that the switch is on the way out? The rear brake works the light fine so I'm having to use the rear brake as well as the front at all times just to be on safe side... Cheers
  3. What model was it? Honda Varadero 125 v1 When did you buy it and how much did it cost? 01-Aug-2011 and it cost £800 Good points? Nice and big, much better riding style than the CG125 that I did my CBT on. Good view of the road, decent mileage per tank and decent rev range Bad points? Mines got a few niggles, but nothing a really good tune up wouldn't sort out, also got some battle scars from being dropped by previous owner but nothing that can't be fixed. Would you get another? Yes, possibly the new injection model or the 1000cc version when I pass my full licence Any other comments? Extras are a bit expensive, ie centre stand is £80 odd quid especially for a 125 Attach a picture if you wish. Will add one when I'm next on the pc, but I worn you it's not pretty lol
  4. We've got a few of them at our place...
  5. Cheers all full licence might have to wait awhile but I've passed my theory already so just got to save the pennies... been riding my bike for about a week now and wow totally different feeling to the scooter I had 6-7 yrs back lol. Just mastering the gears and making sure my awareness is spot on

    engine problem

Possible restriction in the exhaust? Just a thought, there are plenty of people on here who can give much better advice
  7. Keeping chickens was great, especially the fresh eggs. Can't beat the taste if an hour old egg and as mentioned you can get powder stuff to clear up the mites
  8. I'd say report him.... He'll only do it again to someone else unless you do something about it
  9. That's an interesting thought. Ummmm they looked the same. I'll see what the Haynes manual says. Thanks for that
  10. Cheers for the ideas been out on for a blast tonight, it's still a bit hesitant when pulling off sometimes but soon gets past it. Feels like a flat spot. Gonna hopefully do a compression test tomorrow and then might try n get the carbs balanced. Feels great to actually be on the road just gotta sort out the niggles
  11. Yeah checked the jets and the air intake....all seems good. Only other thing we can think is that either the carbs need setting up or there's a compression issue....!
  12. Yeah checked all those and everything seems fine. Thanks for the reply though
  13. I've got a Varadero 125 v1 and it's having a few problems....! For some reason the front carb doesn't seem to to be running as good as the rear one. It seems lumpy and lacking power compared to the other. We've cleaned both carbs and checked everything is working and connected (we've checked the Haynes manual to be sure) it all back up and it still sounds lumpy. Any ideas? The previous owner used to stick redex in due to dirty fuel. Could it have become reliant on it? Cheers
  14. It's kicking off everywhere...Wolverhampton, Walsall, Bloxwich the list goes on...just absolute mind numbing what scum of this country will do..... Bet there not thinking who's paying for the clean up costs...
  15. It's a 2001 model. Not sure in the fuel trap, there is a piece of clear tubing which is closed at one end attached to the bottom of the air intake (where the trumpets sit) which was empty and clean. We checked both diaphrams to see if they were mucked up but they were clean. I'm yet to speak to the father in law to see if he had any joy yesterday. If not i think the next move is to buy a Haynes and strip it down.
  16. Colin, mine hasn't got a filter and we were wondering whether to fit one or not. Will have a look later see how much they are
  17. Well after getting the bike last week, today was my first chance to actually test and go out, but alas it was not to be The father in law is a mechanic and knows his stuff so i was glad when he said he would check it over and make sure the brakes etc worked Great I thought, spent a couple of hrs doing the brakes, and check oil etc. Bike turns over lovely and it's ready for it first ride I get suited n booted for my first outing ride off the drive and knock it into 2nd gear, open the throttle and stutter.... Ermmm this ain't right. Check the fuel, it's quite low so I turn it to reserve and try again.... Same So after all the waiting it looks like the fuel is dirty (previous owner did say that he had to keep putting redex in every-time he filled up). Means we now have to clean all carbs etc to get it all out maybe next time.... And hopefully it'll work. Gutting ain't the word
  18. Try not to get worked up by the while gear thing. I did my cbt last week and the only thing I'd ridden was a scooter about 7 yrs ago. Yes I made mistakes and I didn't totally conquer the whole gear change thing but I still passed. It's all about how you compose yourself and act on the road good luck
