  1. I have a cheap Chinese copy of the Atlas throttle lock. Less than a tenner on Alibaba. I have completed 4 tours of Scotland and several tours of Wales, the Lakes and a total of around 14k miles with it. Primarily used on the motorways and I think it's brilliant. It takes a lot of setting up to get the right amount of friction so that it holds steady without locking but just enough to hold without slipping. It's only downfall is that it doesn't hold a set speed. If you go up an incline speed will reduce and vice versa going downhill.
  2. Cracked it, In the app I changed "Automatic Volume" to low in the audio settings. Thanks again for your help @Hairsy
  3. Always on the Cardo, I'll look into your other suggestions so thanks for the info.
  4. Whilst I was able to reduce the volume of the music I can't control the pips of the volume indicators on my Cardo. And the battery power level message when switching off is still too loud; any idea's?
  5. Life is good, they arrived today. I should have turned the volume down before testing them, way too loud!
  6. Me neither and I hope you are right about the sound ears taking longer.
  7. True. I hope it lasts for a whole weekend.
  8. Just had an update that says half way to completion. Cant see them arriving next week as per their last email. Gonna be a very bleak Christmas at this rate, nowt to look forward to in life anymore.
  9. Between 16th & 20th for me. It's the only Christmas present I have so I hope it turns up. If anyone has a tiny violin I'll take that too!
  10. Has anyone been given any indication how long it takes for their order to come through. Their website says 20 days during busy times?
  11. Last week, in Sportsbikeshop I tried on a pair of Revit Goretex trousers but at £439.00 I couldn't justify it. The advertised black Friday sale has them at £351.00, That's put them in the worth it/need them bracket. Delivery tomorrow
  12. The bloke above might not agree but the benda might struggle too.
  13. I recently fitted a heating pad to my seat and for £20 quid and a bit of upholstery work with a stapler I can say it's fantastic. The Keiss jacket is a gamechanger but the Keiss gloves a disappointment. The Gerbings I had before were twice as warm & comfy although unreliable.
  14. I used Ultimate Ears based on the OP's recommendation. I must admit I was too scared to go to the other suppliers in case they were cheaper but Ultimate ears was the first stand I came across when I walked into the arena. I had no idea later on that there were at least four other companies there. As for bargains, the only ones I saw was the bikes on the moto GB stand. I have paid more for a pair of binoculars than some of the 125's they had on show.
  15. Just been "moulded" at Motorcycle Live. Should be here in 5 weeks hopefully. I didn't realise there were so many different companies offering this service. The show itself I thought was a bit disappointing this year, absolutely no bargains to be had. I trawled everywhere just to find the Oxford toolkit and nothing could be found.
  16. It's a good time to see them. The insects will concentrate on the sunny side of the tree trunk when temperatures drop so that's where these beautiful birds will be found.
  17. Treecreeper
  18. Personally, having done four tours of Scotland, two of Wales and a trip around Italy (all on a bike in the last two years) here's my take:- Does it matter if the hotel has a secure parking area for your bike? YES Is it important for you to have a spot to dry clothes or even a small area for minor repairs? No Do you look for options like late check-in or early check-out flexibility? No What about room comfort: is having a shower, a comfy bed, or maybe even a kitchenette something you value? Yes Or are there other factors you always check before booking a hotel? Price
  19. From personal experience I can't believe anyone other than those with poor credit ratings would touch them. I was tempted by a 24 plate BMW XR900 so I took my 23 plate mint Tracer 7GT with 4K on the clock to Donnington. They offered me £3k. People must be very desperate if they accept offers like this in exchange for a replacement bike. If this is their business model I can't see them lasting much longer in an already stale market.
  20. You don't have a link handy do you?
  21. Motorcylce live is coming up in a few weeks and I will be on the lookout for a Gore-tex jacket. I'm no stranger to outdoor gear having spent half my life in the Scottish winters watching wildfowl come and go. In those years I have had a few Gore-tex jackets that did not keep out the elements, some costing a fortune but in the end one cut the mustard. Obviously a motorcycle jacket differs in many ways so I am looking for one that absolutely remains dry, with quality protection. Budget is up to £600. Can anyone suggest a decent bit of kit?
  22. Back up for sale now as new bike has integrated sat-nav.
  23. Popped in to one of these dealers today and their interest was a lot better face to face. Whilst unable to price match the dealer in Wigan they got to within £200 so I should be popping back in next week hopefully to make a purchase.
  24. More dealer apathy. Not long ago I commented on the lack of interest my local Honda dealer showed when I was after a new bike. It was enough for me to change allegiance and onto Yamaha. For a year I have enjoyed my Tracer 7GT but now I have more experience on a bike I fancy an MT09. Two calls to my closest Yamaha dealer have lead to no call-backs despite them saying they would. Two "contact us" attempts on their website still ignored. Disappointed I tried a dealer further away via their contact page. Fair play they called same day. I asked for comparative pricing to those on Autotrader, albeit a £90 premium to have it delivered. They said don't go to them (and save around £900) as they are "due to close". I pointed out that wouldn't matter as a new bike has two years warranty. He then said you should support your local dealer. He assured me of a call back once he had cleared pricing with his manager. anyway, no call-back. There's £10 grand cash in my pocket and no midlands Yamaha dealer wants to know. Let's try Suzuki and Kawasaki.
