25mm. That should see me flat-foot.

Tried fitting a lowering link to my Tracer 7GT only to find after all the hard work that the link I was sent is for an MT07 and will not fit. Two hours I won't get back.

Earplugs, made to measure?

I'm pretty sure the silicone is causing the irritation as the foam inserts are fine but too effective in drowning out my tunes. I can only use simple soap otherwise I'll itch all over after a bath/shower. Price for having such youthful skin and young looks I suppose. -
I am currently using silicone jobbies at the moment which seem to keep helmet noise down a bit but come a few hours later my lugs itch like a mangey dog. At motorcycle live I saw what I think was people having a gel like solution squeezed into their ears to form a custom fit solution. Any recommendations as to how good they are/are not and any recommendation for a decent supplier. Is it a case of going to them to get fitted out and one last thing, cost?

I'm convinced. Will stick to hotels here on in.

Has anyone used a hostel for touring. I see favourable pricing but shared sleeping arrangements seem a bit of a hit or miss. Should the gent (or lady) above or below in the bunk bed snore like my wife is one ok to give the companion a bit of a nudge. What is the etiquette of such an arrangement?

ATGAAT, new one on me and it suits sir!

Only know the third one. New term I picked up on "chicken strips". I had to google it.

I am toying with the idea of visiting the London bike show but keen to know just how well attended it is. Does anyone know how it compares with Motorcycle Live, is it as big an event?

Gerbing GT Microwire pro in excellent condition. However, the right hand glove does not switch on. I have opened the inner seam a little to check the wire but I can't see what's wrong. I have sewn the seam back up perfectly. Gerbing say send it to them for repair but I have no time, I have bought some new ones. Comes with "Y" cable to attach to the battery cable. You will need the cable that goes to your battery. Even as a normal glove, these are fantastic and well worth £40 to your door. SOLD ELSEWHERE

I have the Keis 701S. I bought them so I could interface easily with my new Keis Ultraflex jacket which is truly brilliant. I am somewhat disappointed with the gloves if I'm honest. I had Gerbing GT gloves before these and they were some way ahead of the Keis on a heat level. However, both of my two sets of Gerbing packed up shortly after the warranty was up so that's them off the future purchase list for me. I might just be unlucky with the Keis but no, not worth the money imo even if they outlive the Gerbings.

Thing is the bike, being a 23 plate, hasn't seen salty conditions. It was only during a one off ride/clean did the problem become apparent.

The sump was replaced this-morning, all good. I was surprised they returned the same oil though, thought it would have been replaced. The spanner said he had been on a Yamaha training course last week where corrosion on the engines was quite a topic of conversation. He said Yamaha wasn't concerned at first with claims of corrosion as none of their marine customers had experienced issues and those engines saw a lot of saltwater. However, they had done some analysis of the salts that had been on motorcycles and confirmed that they were more aggressive so have adopted a more interested approach to the problem. That's why mine was replaced so readily. Anyway, how I came out of that shop without a Tracer 9GT+ is beyond me.

Update: Dealer just called and said Yamaha want them to replace the sump. The parts have arrived so can I bring the bike in tomorrow. Not what I was expecting but good news for sure.

I fitted a thunderbox (power distribution block) as my battery terminals were getting a bit crowded. Everything was fine except for my front and rear camera's (vantrue). That device insisted on a live feed for some reason.

I have seen it myself at that very spot. In 2001 a committee was formed due to the unusually high rate of accidents and deaths at that very spot. It used to be vehicles could simply cross into 60mph traffic. Locals and businesses protested as to get to the M5 it would mean a two mile detour back on themselves. The re-design doesn't account for the nob in the Cupra who elects to weave his way into oncoming traffic. Right opposite usually sits a speed-camera as the limit comes down to 50 in preparation for idiots like this bloke.

Not sure what MRT could do to assist if they were not lost as such, troubled by the wind isn't something that a helicopter is going to resolve. I have been atop of Place Fell where the wind was so strong it was hard to draw breath. The horseshoe is a case of trace your steps back or continue the round. That debacle on Red Screes where one of the rescue team was terribly injured and subsequently dies is the one that gets my goat. (During covid iirc)

I know that exact spot. That used to be a notorious accident spot and regularly there would be flower arrangements right opposite the junction. That arrangement was put in there to stop traffic crossing into fast oncoming traffic. It must have been awful for your husband & daughter to see that unfolding in front of them, good to see they are on the mend. Hopefully the young man will learn from this reckless behaviour.

My mistake was taking it to a dealer. I nearly came home with a different bike I was so tempted by the Tracer 9GT+

Just got back from my local dealer, not the one where I purchased the bike. They cleaned it up, inspected the paint loss and then got it up on their lifter so see if there's any other area's of concern. They confirmed all else was well. Yes, they confirmed its unusual but they are not confident Yamaha will give them the go-ahead to work on it. They referred to that particular clause as above (2). The dealer will update me asap and I'll advise on this thread as to any progress.

Thanks all. Lesson taken from all this is apply a thin coat only. I managed to get it all off with soapy water and WD40 where it was caked up. Washed out with a power washer. Didn't want to scrub it for fear of scratching. Reapplied a very light coating with a brush. Strange thing I noticed is there is some paint loss on the sump. Not a problem but on a 23 plate with 1k on it seems a bit strange. Tracer 7GT.

Due to the change in weather conditions I took the bike out yesterday for a short bimble. However, the collection of crud that seems to be as a result of the heavy coating of ACF50 is a problem. I'll get the stuff off with a good clean but next time I'll strip the bike of the stuff first. Any recommendations for an effective solution to start with?
